I am being told I need to have my gallbladder removed because it is functioning at only 13%. I am 5'0" and weigh 81 lbs which is already too little weight. I read all the comments about loosing weigh after the surgery and it scares me.

thank you , I'm due to have surgery in the next couple days and your post was my saving grace. I'm more worried about the "accidents" that happen afterwards i.e. bathroom visits. you've set my mind at ease and I will definitely look into a probiotic. do you mind telling me what brand you use, so many out there. I'm not too worried about the weight loss I'm pretty healthy and active, I tend to stick to lighter healthy foods. I want to thank you again, I was getting to scared with some of the posts on here but yours was a breath of fresh air...

Same here...I had surgery1 year ago and have lost almost 100lbs and have nothing to wear now. I hope it doesn't come back. I do eat smaller portions now, at times. And if I eat too much I pay for it.

Hi, I had my gall bladder removed four months ago and also had a baby eight months ago. The estrogen levels caused gallstones to build up in my gall bladder and was detaining my liver I had had a c section with my baby due to complications and took a gallbladder attack a month later visiting family in a different city I was rushed to hospital and i chose to get it removed. I recall vomiting whilst the doctors were performing the c section complaining they were messing my organs up. It wasn't untill later the extra medical problem was found. As soon as the surgery was compete I was eating away like an animal maybe because I was use to it from pregnancy however lately I noticed me dropping tons of weight and I eat so much and so many big meals and snacks Inbetween so I don't know what the reason behind it is. I was expecting the opposite. Slightly confused at the moment I have no health issues and on no medications for the last four months so nothing can be contributing towards it blood levels etc everything is on point for my age. I'm 22. Just find it a bit scary because I became really large upto a size 20 in clothes. Before pregnancy and operations I was a clothes size 8-10 and find it weird I am the exact same size again so quick. I should be happy anyone would be but I was told weight gain due to having a baby and gall bladder removed. I eat fatty food and heathy food mixed up just depending on what I feel like eating. I have no problems with any food but if I don't drink water I feel the top stitch hurt between my ribs like a pulling sensation which is why I always keep topped up on food and drink. I have to keep a water bottle with me at night time because I will wake up starving or aching so I just drink water to fill the space during the night or early early morning. Anyone else experiencing what I have?

If anyone knows the reason behind it please contact me.
The only pain I have is pulling pains between my ribs I'm guessing where my gallbladder use to exist. I had keyhole surgery and went home the next day and walked out the hospital. It felt like j don't a trillion sit ups and wasn't as bad as my birth experience. I'm glad so to say I feel extremely fit and able again and feels like I never had any surgeries or even had a baby it's how good I feel untill the odd pulling sensations due to a constant stomach rumble and it's because I'm starving after I just ate. I feel like food and drink has taken over my life and again don't understand why I'm not falling about with blobs of fat everywhere due to the amount I consume on a daily basis.
I have always had a fast metabolism and ate a lot growing up and my stomach has always been quite tonnes without workouts and exercise. It looks the same again with scars as memories.

I had my gallbladder removed 9 months ago - lost 6 lbs in the hospital and still cannot gain weight back -- also lose weight if I do not eat enough. The Dr says to eat everything but then there is a BM problem. I'm getting pretty upset.

I had mine (Gull B.) removed November 2015.
Today is December 26, 2016. Prior to surgery, I was 180 lbs. currently I weigh 129 lbs. so, I've lost 51 lbs in 13 months +/-. I too have vomiting sessions that last 2/3 days, to the point I'm hospitalized once a month. I'm now in an after care hospital for a month or longer until my team of M.D.'s, Dietitian, G.I. Doctor.....etc figure out what's wrong. My blood work/labs show my: Amylace elevated to +164. (Normal count is 30-110). And my
Lipase count at; +972 (Normal count is 23-300). Mine is elevated to: +972. Could be pancreatitis? Note: I lost my spleen and about 15% of my stomach, followed by a fractured sacrum and lumbar fusion from a-1 to L-2.
From traumatic injury in Iraq in 2005.
I have so much internal scar tissue, tat caused 2 surgeons flat out refused to go back in to remove the gull bladder. However, I had 2 large stones that were unbearable to live with. (Constant pain, vomiting). A third surgeon agreed to do the surgery. I've virtually cut out all sat. Fats, grease, surgar, dairy....and live on pastas, oatmeal, dried fruits, Ensure Enlive that has 350 calories. I also eat 6 small meals per day (slowly) and I'm still not gaining weight. I m prescribed morphine up to 150 milligrams in a 24 hour period. And Klonopin for combat related PTSD with Panic Disorder
(Both severe). I don't know what to do?
I'm a clinical social worker, with a BS in Biological Anthropology/MA in clinical social work. I have a good understanding of anatomy and mental health/brain anatomy & function. But I'm not a M.D. I'm desperate for answers, solutions, and resolve. Can anyone out there relate?
