I had my gall bladder removed two weeks ago tomorrow after having pancreatitis. There were no stones however the pathology report states that my gall bladder was chronically inflamed. My ultrasounds also show fatty liver so I'm hoping that's something that will improve now that I don't have my gall bladder?

I'm 28 and have had an ok diet but I have hashimotos disease so have put on about 20kgs in the last 5 years. I was 75kgs before the surgery, I am now 69kgs which I feel is a lot of weight to loose in two weeks, not that I'm complaining but I get diarrhoea even if I eat low fat foods so have just been eating whatever. I'm so fatigued though although that's not abnormal for me. I get the shakes and feel light headed a lot. I also have a wound infection which I'm on antibiotics for but they don't seem to be helping. And I have horrible abdominal pain all the time except it's generalised to most of my right side. I kind of wish I'd never had the surgery I feel like I'm more sick than I was before.

Complete and utter rubbish that vegans are healthier. They aren't. Show us data, not anecdotes, liar. And data means peer-reviewed scientific literature. The CPSI doesn't count, btw.

Anecdotes aren't data. You can post all of your anecdotes, but that is no comparison to scientific data which supports animal eaters like the French and Japanese being the healthiest people on the planet, liar.

I would die if I were a vegan--from starvation, because everything I'm allergic to is a plant product:

Nightshade--this means I'm allergic to potatoes, tomatoes, peppers (particularly cayenne), eggplant and more.

Corn/Maize

I'm allergic to nearly everything in the Brassicaceae family of plants: Kale, turnips, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts.

I'm allergic to several varieties from the Rosaceae family, like peaches, cherries, apricots, roses/rose hips and almonds.

Juniper, aka the flavoring of gin. The berries are used to season all kinds of dishes that can have me puking my guts up in fractions of a second. I have to go outside with a breathing mask when the juniper trees in my area are putting off their pollen filth because I can go into respiratory failure from breathing it in.

So you, like all the trash who are vegans, are liars and frauds about your junk diet being healthy. It's not. There isn't one scientific study that backs up your dishonest claim.

That makes you a disgusting liar.

Yes. All my adult life I weighed 190 lbs. After GB surgery I
slowly lost down to 170 lbs. My eating habits didn't change
nor did my level of activity. Gas and irregular bowel movement is a problem. Lots of luck dealing with this.

I am in the same situation. Had my gallbladder removed one year ago and my weight has continuously dropped. My Dr. just tells me to get eating... as my appetite has diminished.

Before the gall bladder op I weighed around 12 stone. According to my BMI reading I was mildly obese. I am aged 72. 18 days on I weigh 11 stone 2. This is now within a healthy weight. I will monitor it though in case it continues to fall. Still avoiding too much fat. Eating half fat cheese, bread and low sugar jam and no butter. Eating a lot of chicken and turkey and fish twice a week and salads and low fat yogurt, creme caramel, rice pudding. Still drinking caffeinated coffee and tea.

Could be your eating too much fatty foods at one meal. Try cutting way back on the fat intake per meal.

I am having this same issue. I'm 27 and had my gallbladder removed three weeks ago. I typically weight around 120 lbs and am now barely holding onto 100. I'm 5'8; relatively tall, and cannot afford to be loosing this much weight. I am eating a lower fat diet since I do have issues with many different foods right now, however I am eating; even though I get full after a small meal, I shouldn't be dropping this quickly. It's getting frustrating, now not only am I dealing with figuring out this no gallbladder thing, I'm also now underweight and weak.

Hi @guest! I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one battling this and if you like id really love to have someone to talk to who is going through what I am. I think we may be able to help each other. I am in the same boat you are. I'm 29 yr. female, however 5'4 I did not get the tall genes lol and I was also 120 lbs as well before I got sick with gallbladder issues which my doctor said was too thin to be losing a gallbladder in the first place. I was a healthy eater and athlete before it happened and I never had one stone, just severe inflammation. By the time I had surgery (they kept rejecting me for surgery for four months) I was 97 lbs. I thought I'd die before I finally got the surgery but thankfully I did finally get it as a stat case. I have put back on a few lbs but if I don't stick to my regime every day I drop drastic weight. For example I was finally up to 106 so I thought I could take a break on the extreme eating because it's such a chore and I dropped back to 103 and am having to climb my way back up again which is very emotional as I'm sure you already know. I feel like you do, I feel very weak because I'm so thin and I am post surgery by 5 months. Being this thin I've also learned causes some blood pressure issues. I don't have anymore body fat and weight to lose either at this point. I was beginning to wonder if I am going to get through this at all, but I know we have to keep up the faith. People in our position are just a little more challenged when losing the gb. If you'd like to reach me though I can share with you my easy shake recipe that is helping me gain weight and I also started a specific digestive enzyme I take with every meal that helps me absorb my nutrition. I thought maybe if we encourage and work together we might be able to help the other through. I don't get the frequent bowel movements like most people because I do take the enzymes. I have found dairy, if I eat it and don't take the enzyme, ultimate no no. Youre probably going to have to do like I am. You have to eat no less than 2500 calories a day but your goal really needs to be 3500 because your body is burning calories to try and heal. You're also probably not absorbing nutrients well. I had a macro nutrient test and I was low on vitamin d, potassium, and b 12 so if you can take even a kids gummy vitamin that would be helpful. I would not recommend some of the daily women's vitamins as they have vitamins to boost your metabolism in them which can have a negative affect and also cause anxiety to your body. I know it sucks. I'm there too but you'll keep losing weight otherwise I'm afraid :(. I use my fitness pal to help me keep track. I noticed I definitely started doing better when I track my calories every day. When I've taken breaks from calorie counting and eating so extreme I drop weight. If you don't want to reach out I wish you the best, if you do I think we can help each other get through this.

Hey, I just read this. It has definitely been a struggle and I'm so happy to have someone who understands. I got even lower after writing that and ended up at 108. I definitely have to keep an eye on my calorie intake or its definitely downhill haha. I did find a good probiotic I like & that helps its Jarrow Ideal Bowel Support; I know the days I don't take it my body seems to have a harder time digesting food. What sort of shake are you drinking? I have celiac disease already; i was diagnosed years ago, so I know my body is just having a hard time absorbing nutrients since it has done this before but now without a gb its making it a bit trickier. So I would love alllll the help possible!
