Visual looming syndrome. I have the same thing and I was just looking it up. This is what I found and it sounds like what we all have. Hope this helps.

I have this as well (visual looming syndrome/sharp edges eye syndrome). I spoke to my doctor, brought up all of the triggers and symptoms, she had no clue so we scheduled a brain MRI. The results for the MRI came back 100% normal so I'm currently setting up an appointment with a neurologist, I'll report back here with the results of that.

I thought I was the only one that had this problem. When explaining it to others, they don't seem to understand. But if I look at a pencil point, or finger, I will get weak at the knees. Lol. I am glad I'm not alone.

I get this too but mainly at night. I am all always scared the lamp next to my bed will hit me in the eye. When I was about four I fell down the inside of some pool steps and got a big cut just under my eye. A fuse that could be a cause

I have the same thing as all of you and it's really hard to explain the feeling. When i was about 3 I was jumping on a dumpster my family had and my older brother decided to make a boomerang out of a wooden fence. He threw it and it circle around and hit me. I don't remember much from it since I was a little kid, but my dad said that I came into the house covering my eye and there was white puss-like liquid running down my hand in between my fingers. The fence part hit me in the eye popping it and was millimeters away from blinding me in that eye. The eye has since healed and I have 20/15 vision in that eye (as well as the other), but to this day I still get what every single one of you is talking about. It doesn't happen all the time, but it sucks when it does. Especially when watching good movies like 300. People seem to understand once I tell them my story though, so it helps. I'm glad I am not alone, but I'm sorry everyone of you goes through the same thing. I wish this upon nobody.

Guys I have this too! Mine is mild in my opinion but my wife laughs in misunderstanding. It is called a Visual Looming Syndrome. Search for the Wiki definition and it will explain. You are not alone and are not crazy!

I have this when the tips of pencils are pointing towards my face! They don't even have to be close to my face to make me wince in fear and nausea. It sucks. If it continues to get to the point that you feel that self harm is the only way to make it stop, see a psychiatrist so that they can help you with treatments and techniques. If you are still a student, there will be a psychologist at your school who will be able to help you or at the very least point you in the direction of someone who can.

For me, it's not a untethered fear because it happens to me most everytime I pick up a pointy object. Maybe I've got a really mild case of this anxiety, but mine's more like this little voice that speaks up everytime I pick up a knife, pencil or some other eye-poking sort of object.."hey! don't poke that in your eye!" that voice will say. Like I'm going to just grab a knife, pen, pencil, or whatever and just jab it into my eye against my better judgement. This has been going on for many years now, and I'm not exactly sure why it started or where it came from. I don't wear glasses, I have nearly perfect vision, but yet, every time I grab something like knife or pencil, my inner voice is there telling me to be careful about just jamming that in my eyeball. I've had numerous instances where I'm walking out of the kitchen with a knife and a plate in my hand, then I sneeze, and think, "here it is, there goes that eye!" Like I'm going to be holding a knife in my hand and inadvertently jam the knife into my eye. Luckily, this hasn't happened to me yet. I'm sort of hoping to avoid it ever coming true. I hope this didn't exacerbate your eye-poking condition. It's a really odd fear of mine, and quite unfounded that I'd actually on-purpose poke out my eye. I've sort of come to terms with it being a warning because of how much I value my eyesight, and I've just accepted it as a caution and went on with my life. Maybe you value your eyesight more than I do, and you're concerned unconsciously about the possibility of losing it.

I'm 13 years old and suddenly out of no where any time I see a pointy gate I feel that my eyes are going to be put on it and damaged this even happend with trees not sure why and it's really iritating and they started happening for long periods of time and I still think of it even when I close my eyes

Could this be Aichmophobia?
Cause I had the same experiences as you said since I was little as well and I think it was caused by my eye being poked (not stabbed in the eye the lid and eye between that) by those mini garden windmills and my nose bed for 3-4 hours after that happened. I'm now in highschool and I can't concentrate at all in school with pens paper tables binders my own nails (which I love) it's really been bothering me recently way more then before

I have this too. I mentioned it to my optician once by trying to explain how I always had to close my eyes when having seen sharp objects - and he said "I think that's more psychological", which I was quite embarrassed about and never bought it up again!
But after just having another episode of it, my fiancé decided to google it and found this forum.
Apparently, according to some medical journals a friend read, it is an eye condition, where something between the receptor (your eye) and the brain, the signal gets mixed up.
I'm still not entirely sure what the actual problem is, why it happens or how to prevent it but I may book to see my doctor soon now that I know I'm not the only one!

Wow!!! This is a reply to all. I have this problem since I was very young too. I find it's when I'm tired it's much worse. Some days it is so very bad I have to be in a very open space to avoid any objects. I also have torrets type tics and used to have vocals when I was young, I think it's all connected. But I would like to ask you all if anyone has ever experienced everything around them going into slow motion while you are normal? This used to happen to me at school. All the class in woodwork would go slow for a Minuit maybe but I was normal. Most most strange.

I too have the same thing exept it's when I'm in bed. I have had this problem for years now. I can't sleep because of it I can't even close my eyes right now it hurts. I cant even look at a store wall w/o the product hooks making me shy away and cringe. I am making an appointment to talk to a doctor about it. I try to sleep with safety glasses it usually works but that's just wierd. I'm just glad I'm not the only one experiencing something like this
