Brown's other works... lack that same "oomf". Deception Point and Digital Fortress didn't grab me.

Digital Fortress was terrible. I knew "whodunnit" about 1/13th of the way through the book. Very disappointing.
Probably The Da Vinci Code, but if not, i'd say the Pulitzer Prize winning "Martin Dressler".
