I wouldn't worry about it being cancer. I don't smoke, hardly drink, and have been with only one woman (my wife) my entire life. Yet last night I noticed a weird white bump on the side of my tongue while I was flossing. Weird as c**p. Looks like it should just come right off but it's stuck pretty good. I'm going to try the warm salt water rinse that other people recommended. Never seen this before in my life and I'm 32. Sure hope it's not cancer! But seriously, I doubt it's anything scary. And seriously, try to give up the tobacco if you can. A buddy of mine isn't 35 and he got cancer from dipping his whole life. I'd always tell him he should quit but his excuse was "my dad's 67 and he's dipped since he was 13 and he is still fine." Came back to bite him in the ass.
I've done that same step. It went away but it came back that following week. I guess try right after the abstract of the bump putting mouthwash or peroxide. Or go talk to a dentist.
me too. i always bite mine off.
OK, very often people will get these from high acidic foods and juices. Put two teaspoons of baking soda in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it followed by another glass of water. It will taste terrible, but baking soda is a good way to lower the acidity in your system. Also avoid those types of foods and drinks for a few days. If it persists for more than four days, then you can start freaking out and go to a doctor. As you can see though from all these responses, this is not an uncommon problem. Try the simple solutions first.
Yes this works and absolutely makes sense. Baking soda is used to lower ph which is a measurement of acid vs. alkaline. Try it
Oh please, there may certainly be a home treatment. If it was caused by highly acid foods, fruits, or juices, all you have to do is put two teaspoons of baking soda in a glass of warm water and drink it.Or, as a previous person said, put the baking soda directly on the sore for ten minutes and rinse. Repeat two or three more times at ten to fifteen minute intervals. You have nothing to lose as baking soda is not harmful. At the least, since many things can cause these bumps, if it doesn't work you've eliminated high acidity .
I have one of those also for the last two days now. Have been using warm salt water, its still there but not as painful.
I believe it's a canker sore, just gargle with warm salt water, I have inflammation and it just pops up now and again depending on what I eat (still haven't figured out what I'm eating that's causing it).
I have a bump on side of tongue and has a hole in middle of it
So do I, from cinnamon the mostly.
ive got onhe to its in the left and its not whit help me
Dude you're ok. You need to take w breath and calm down. 95% of people have exactly what you're experiencing including myself. Your painful sores are due to lots of things. Candy, rubbing teeth against tongue. Salty foods, hormone change because you're a teenager. You're ok.
You didn't say what caused the bumps on your tongue, what are they? How to get rid of them
I will try the ice. I have had this little ball on the
tip of my tongue for maybe 5 to 10 years. It got caught on my tooth I am always biting it
off, but it always seems to be there. What do you suggest I do to get rid of it.
