This could be gastroparesis. I have a very hard time digesting food and get sick to my stomach when I eat. I went to a GI doctor and they ran a test for gastroparesis (after many other tests) and determined that this is what I have. If I eat too much the food comes back up (looking the same as when it went down). If she's still having trouble, please look into this. It's not very common, but it is something that fit all the symptoms you described.

I have being experiencing similar reactions with food for a while although I'm not waiting 15-20mins for reactions to follow. Usually within five minutes of consuming food stuff I'll start to cough endlessly until I vomit after which the coughing will ease off. After being prompted by of some dear friends I visited my doctor who suggested it's an common problem cause by acid re-flux and prescribed me various PPI medicines which did little to ease the problem, after several courses I decided to quit the meds simply because they're ineffective. After several re-visitations they assigned my condition to a specialist. Since then, I've taken various physical examinations over the last few months including nasal endoscope, colonoscopy, CT scan and MRI all resulted in negative findings. Finally they did a blood test for allergies, again it's being completely futile. Considering all the examinations and ongoing health checks has turned up nothing, I can assume I'm healthy, at least physically.

As suggested by my nutritionist, for the first six months of this year (2011) I've kept a food journal, taking notes and logging everything I consume over each and everyday - it's a pain!! - So far and discovered there's a pattern, If I eat dairy products, take out, prepackaged or manufactured foods; I'm guaranteed to have a sudden reaction. If I eat self-cooked and prepared foods made from raw materials there's minimal chances of an reaction and if I only consume organic plant based food there's no reaction what so ever!! Weird. So as a result I'm consulting a dietitian whilst I attempt to go completely vegan. Since then nearly all my symptoms have vanished.

I have had the same issues since July of 2011; however after discussing these things with my Gastric dr. we have discovered I have had similar symptoms when I was a child. After a colonoscopy, and endoscopy, a gastric emptying study, liver, gallbladder, kidney's and spleen tested, as well as a battery of blood work, we think I have a disorder called Reactive hypoglycemia. There were other symptoms that were listed within this disorder that i have been living with my whole life and never knew were symptoms. You also may want your GI to test you for Nueroendricrin carcinoma. I was negative for that as well. The next step for me is to see an endocrinologist, because they have certain tests that they need to do to verify I have reactive hypoglycemia. Here is a link about the disorder. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reactive_hypoglycemia

The are a tons of reasons why symptoms like this occur the vast majority are from eating to large a meal pr certain foods. Sometime the muscle at the top of the stomach(esophageal sphincter) get stretched, atrophy  and it allow the food and acid back up the esophagus. try eating smaller portions, relatively bland food not pizza or  tomato sauce type items, antacids can help but i like to keep it simple something like tums. If your unable to keep enything down for a prolonged period this a sign of a more serious problem and you should go to a dr.

I have read all these issues, with some connection. I have a very weak stomach, unable to eat anything other than plain food and even this is becoming very hard. I ate a take away last something I always had and with an hour I doubled over with pain, sickness and everything all night. Then a week later after eating plain food with seconds of eating it came back up. This is not the first time I have been like this a while so I stick to very plain, none fatty food where possible. Any ideas warmly welcome.

I have the identical problem as sbryant's wife.  I am a male.  I can eat breakfast and lunch without any problem but 20 to 30 minutes after dinner I feel sick.   The sick feeling usually last several hours but is always gone when I wake up the next morning.  The symptoms include bloating, mild diahrea, nausea, burping up small chunks of undigested food into my mouth, and sometimes chills.  The severity of the symptoms seems to depend on how much I eat at dinner and the fat content of the meal.  I had my gall bladder removed years ago and I've been taking nexium for years.  I haven't had this problem for long, in fact a week and half ago  I ate a huge greasy meal over a friend's house with no problems, whatsoever.  I have learned a few things about my issues.  1) If I eat a light almost fat free meal at dinner or no dinner at all, I don't have any problem.  2) If I get extremely anxious at the onset of the symptoms it makes them much worse. 3) If something happens that distracts me while I have the symptoms (and makes me stop focusing on them) the symptoms decrease.  4) chewing gum after eating a big greasy dinner seems to help with the burping up of food.  5) The link between fatty greasy foods and the problem are vague as I can eat  things like bacon or sausage for breakfast or potato chips for lunch without any issues.

Since I've had diarrhea for quite a while I'm thinking of consuming acidophilus (yogurt) to repair my stomach lining to see if that helps.

Hi, my daughter has been having these same issues.  She hasn't had any pains to speak of.  She is 17 just coming off the depo shot.  But ever since she got it (this is why we are discontinuing it) after she eats she vomits most of what she has ate back up.  Sometimes it starts as a cough bringing the food back up and sometimes it just comes back on its own.  To make it worse she has almost had a non-stop period for a month now.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Quite often doctors prescribe antacids, when they should be doing the opposite. Food has a hard time digesting if there is not enough acid. To help with digestion, take 1-2 tablespoons of braggs apple cider vinegar in a glass of warm water. Fresh squeezed lemon juice in warm water also works well.
