Literally millions of products and millions of articles promise to reveal the secrets of looking young for women. Is there anything new to be revealed on this topic? We think there is, although we can't claim it is unique.

What is new in women's beauty care? Any "secret" shared on the Internet doesn't stay a secret very long, but here are ten beauty tips we think most women have not heard before.

1. Thinking about getting a face lift? Ask about "Happy Lift" first.

The Happy Lift Revitalizing skin system is actually a surgical procedure, but it is considered "minimally invasive" because it only involves placing a suspension, not even as thick as silicone, in the form of a thread beneath the skin. The procedure itself can cause a little bruising, a little swelling, and a little redness that quickly go away, but the results are just what the patient wants about 90% of the time. There are a few cases in which the skin is elevated to different extents on either side of the wrinkle, but these are easily corrected. Happy Lift is a product of Promoitalia International S.r.l, Naples, Italy.

2. Be especially sure to get your "beauty sleep" if you have sun-damaged skin.

UV rays from the sun damage DNA in the skin. The skin attempts to repair itself by producing massive amounts of the pigment melanin, which leaves sun spots, liver spots, age spots, and blemishes. Where the basal layers of the skin are damaged, excess production of skin cells can make the skin red and rough.

The best defense against sun damaged skin is to wear sun screen when the sun is bright. The second best defense against sun damaged skin is getting enough sleep.

Scientists tell us that it is likely that sleep alone is not enough to overcome all the skin-damaging effects of aging, but it is certainly an essential part of skin restoration. It's just not enough.

3. Sleep on your back, not on your side.

Sleeping on the side or on the tummy causes the skin to sag with gravity. It is not a "statistically significant" effect in scientific studies of skin ptosis (sagging) and sleep position; that is, you are not guaranteed to have sags and bags of skin if you inadvertently shift sleep positions during the night. But in general, skin is under less stress during sleep when you sleep on your back.

4. Sleep on satin pillowcases.

Satin pillows don't tug at your hair. When hair begins to thin, the effects of sleeping on rough pillowcases and rough linens become evident. If you wear a permanent hair prosthesis that you do not remove at night, sleeping on a satin pillowcase is essential to keep it from wearing out.

5. Wear more perfume to lure a younger partner, less to attract an older man.

One of the peculiarities of male physiology is that older men are actually more sensitive, more readily attracted to scent than younger men. If you are wearing a scent, less is more for attracting an older man. However, even though they are not as sensitive to scents, younger men are more likely to respond to perfumes, once they eventually smell them, than older men for making a sexual advance. But that isn't really a surprise is it?

Five More Beauty Ideas For Women

Here are five more concepts for maximizing natural beauty for women.

6. Keep body fat in check to project "being in charge."

Researchers publishing their findings in the January 2013 edition of the scientific journal PlosOne reported that a woman's ability to focus attention and a woman's conflict resolution skills are independently related to her fat mass.

Apart from how people perceive heavier or thinner women, the fat itself seems to be correlated to a woman's ability to use her brain's executive functions.

Body fat itself is not the whole explanation for differences in women's leadership ability in intimate and social situations, but it does in fat seem to make a difference.

7. Sexual orientation influences how a woman knows she looks great.

Researchers publishing their findings in the November 2013 edition of the scientific journal Frontiers of Psychology report that heterosexual women are more likely to look in the mirror to know they look good, whereas homosexual women are more likely to seek their partner's approval to know they look good. The differences are not, however, either-or, that is just because a woman knows she looks good doesn't mean she is straight and just because she seeks her partner's approval doesn't mean she is lesbian. Women of either sexual orientation, at least in the United States, tend to have concerns about weight.

8. Changing skin tone can be disastrous when the wrong products are used.

Skin lightening, most commonly to cover up sun damaged skin, can go disastrously wrong when the wrong products are used. Bleaching creams and skin lightening creams made with hydroquinolone, in particular, can cause permanent damage to skin. Some, although not all, women of East Asian and African descent inherit genes that cause the skin to turn blue, not light, when exposed to this common skin treatment. If you want to remove an age spot or a blemish left after acne heals, use products that contain the safer ingredient ellagic acid instead.

9. Firming, toning, and lifting muscles beneath the skin is possible with some electrical stimulation devices.

There actually are some electrical stimulation devices that can assist "effortless" toning of the muscles in the face and around the breasts. However, they have to be used on a regular basis, not so often that the muscles do not have a chance to recover and rebuild themselves between sessions, usually 2 to 4 times a week.

10. Moisturize, but with actual "moisture."

Most women know that moisture keeps skin supple. It brings out natural skin tones. It smooths out wrinkles. But many "moisturizers" actually dry skin out. It's very important to involve any skin care product that lists alcohol as the first ingredient. If it tingles, or it feels cool on the skin, it's killing skin cells. Use water- and oil-based moisturizers instead, but avoid oil-based moisturizers if you have acne or enlarged pores. It is also important to avoid scented skin care products. Scents, fragrances, and essential oils often trigger skin irritation or allergies that can mar beautiful skin.

Additional Tips for Younger Look

The Art of Stress Reduction

Stress can manifest physically, especially on the skin. Women who appear younger than their age often engage in regular stress-reducing activities like meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises. Reducing stress not only promotes a calm mind but also prevents premature aging, breakouts, and dull skin. A peaceful demeanor itself can create a youthful aura.

Nutrition's Role in Radiance

A balanced diet plays a vital role in looking young. Consuming antioxidant-rich foods like berries, nuts, and leafy greens can fight free radicals, which are responsible for aging. Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish promote supple skin. Avoiding excessive sugar, which can damage collagen, is also key. A diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and essential nutrients keeps skin vibrant and healthy.

The Protective Shield of Sunscreen

Perhaps one of the most underrated secrets is regular sunscreen use. UV rays from the sun are the primary cause of premature aging. By applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily, these women protect their skin from harmful rays, preventing sunspots, wrinkles, and loss of skin elasticity. Whether sunny or cloudy, the sunscreen remains a staple.
