Hi, I see this post have been going on for 8 months. I am sad that I have only found it now. All of you that have replied to this post will most probably be able to also help me a bit. Please look at my post about my youngest son. Singlemom, I fully understand ALL the concerns you had and perhaps still have. I know that masturbation and even some sexual acts are a normal things in certain children but it doesn't make it easy to handle. One is never sure if one does the right thing. Hearing from people who have similar experiences helps me a lot.

Your son is growing up and his behavior is very natural and normal. When I was 11 years old I used to masturbate 2 or 3 times every day. At that age I didn't even have pubic hairs but I already had a long penis swinging between my legs.

My classmates were 11 or 12 years old boys. I would say that none of them had pubic hairs but yes all of us already practiced masturbation. Sleepovers with those friends meant taking off our clothes and jerking each other off. That is a very natural activity at that age. So, your son is a typical 11 yr boy. That's all. Do not worry about it.

When I was 9 I learned to masturbate by watching my older brother who a was 12 at the time. He did it alot, every day 2 or 3 times on his bed, adjacent to mine in the bedroom we both sharred. I would masturbate alot but not reach orgasm until I was in the fourth grade which is pretty early. Less than a year later I started to grow pubic hair at the base of my penis. I since learned that I was an early bloomer, but have aksi learbrd of many boys masturbating tickinax ecen earkier, 5, 6, and 7 year old boys!

It is quite common for boys to start masturbating from age 11 or 12 there is nothing wrong with that, it teaches them about their sexual organs and how to use them. More than once a day at an early age is very unusual, boys usually 'work up' to 2 or 3 times per day by about 15.
It is less common for their friends to get intimately involved as most boys are quite embarrassed about their genitals and their habit of masturbating. Teenagers, especially, frequently begin their sexual life by experimenting with same-sex friends if opposite sex ones are out of bounds.
You need not be concerned that your son is gay at this stage. It is very likely that he will soon discover girls and then your worrying can start.

No doubt he's in class with 11-year-old girls already having to wear bras. Like size 34 and larger. I speak from experience because I was already wearing a 38 size bra when I was only 9 and a 42 size bra by the time I was 12. A lot of girls are developing boobs at that age nowadays. What was large and early development when I was growing up is normal today.

Four conclusions, and a few comments; #1 Your son has discovered maturation, Almost all boys do long before they're adults, some as early as 4 or 5, some as late as their mid-teens. Most discover it at about this boy's age. #2 He has discovered masturbation is a lot of fun, also like almost all boys. #3 He has discovered that masturbation requires almost no resources, just somewhere where he can get some privacy. #4 He has discovered sex-play with friends can be even more thrilling that solo masturbation. What he hasn't yet discovered is moderation. Three or four times a day? Got to be a boy. By your adult years, 2 or 3 times a week sounds like plenty. One thing that has changed, for the worse, for my taste, is the influence of what boys can find on-line. In my day, oral or anal were practically unheard-of. It was all what you could do with your hands or a stream of water, of maybe a girl who was too brave or adventurous for her own good would join in. Oral or anal are part of the rotation? It takes away the innocence of these naughty boys.

What you have described leaves me saying, "I've never had THAT happen." I've ejaculated when I had wet dreams, and I've ejaculated when I've played with myself. I've had erections when my penis really wanted to get out of my pants. ("Too bad. I'll get myself in a lot of trouble if the wrong person sees you [my penis] outside of my pants.") But I've never ejaculated just because my penis was pushing hard against the inside of my pants, (my underware, actually). Also, the part of my penis that was sensitive enough to trigger ejaculation is on the back or underside of my penis where it was in contact with my scrotum or not touching anything. I was circumcised, so I can't speak to how much more sensitive the gland is when it is normally covered by the foreskin, but is now exposed because of the erection. But I suspect "he" decided that there would be no harm in playing with it a little. At his age, that was enough for his prostate to get the message to send a round or two "down the tube". That could show up a minute or two after he stopped playing, leaving him thinking, "It didn't happen while I was having a little fun, so it must have just been spontaneous."

If they are truly discovering what the other half has "down there", I'd think it would be the other way around. A boy who really is discovering what a girl has would see no penis, testicles or scrotum, just a split mound or a triangle of pubic hair. All the interesting stuff is tucked up inside of her. Even if he saw her naked all day long, her labia would block his view of all those inner workings, unless she decided to pull her labia open. On the other hand, a girl who is really discovering what, if anything, is different "down there" would be very surprised to find his whole "package" is hanging out of the front of him.
Get a girlfriend under this context? If I was the parent of either a boy or a girl, I wouldn't want that happening. There's plenty of time in their lives to get into that. Let's not rush it.
