i had the same thing, i think it comes from fear pushing your imagination into overdrive. which isn't fun, but it is an opportunity to learn how to stay centered when facing adversity in your mind. try to force yourself to stay cool. it can actually be therapeutic when you break through.
How long did this feeling last for Jackypimp?
Hello everyone,
It's been six days now since I had a really horrible trip on Marijuana. I was told at the time it was a 'whitey' (by my mates, who were/are fine so it wasn't laced). It pretty much falls into other people's descriptions of falling in/out of reality, etc. I don't really feel like the 'unreal' feeling has either got better or worse over time, although I do now have long periods where I feel I'm coping with it better (but the feeling stays in the back of my head.) Getting to sleep is also much better; for the first couple of nights my heart wouldn't stop pounding and I couldn't drift off (although it's still difficult, and I have woken up once feeling incredibly panicked).
What's disturbing me most though is my vision. It's nothing severe, but when there's a shift in the light from dark-light, or vice versa, I'm more sensitive to it than I was, like it lingers for a second. This scares me, but then I don't seem to have the other symptoms of DR/DP - like I can always recognise myself in the mirror, I can converse with people fine, my memory's good, and I even find myself (when in the mood) able to laugh at stuff.
I've been exercising, eating healthier, and drinking ALOT of water, and while there are times I feel I'm coping with it well (mostly when I convince myself it's just a feeling, and only temporary) right now and at other times it gets me really low (not suicidal at all, just depressed) and I feel like I'm going to be in this dreamy state forever. I do just feel better reading this forum and getting this off my chest (I haven't told my parents), but am just terrified I'll be depersonalized for the next couple of years, or even permanently.
Any reassurance would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
I've only smoked a few times now and I'm 16, but last time I smoked I got this "depersonalisation" thing and I was pretty much going suicidal. It lasted for like 3 weeks and all I did was kept my mind off things by doing sport or playing games etc, and just always be happy. I did smoke a lot more last night, and ive woken up with a similar feeling, but it's not nearly as bad - so it's just about tolerance, you'll get this less as you smoke more.
It lasted for over 3 weeks for me, and got better as time went by, just chill and rax man it won't be permanent :)
Thanks man, woke up this morning after a decent sleep and feel a bit better. Vision's still weird but can definitely notice the 'brain fog' fading gradually now.
Just a quick update. Today it feels like the brain fog and the 'unreal' sense has gone but I've been racked with high anxiety and paranoia. You guys said it took 3 weeks to clear completely so I'll see it out 'till then, but I get worried now that I'm developing PTSD or something from the event (and it was probably the worst experience of my life).
I'm 13 and did it in the butt with a girl. When I pulled out about 5 seconds later a little bit of cum came out in my pants. Could she be pregnant.
How long did it take????
bros, doesn't matter how hard you wanna sleep and get it done with, never go to sleep while you are high and anxious, i get this dream like feeling a lot and i just go home to the AC unit and watch some long videos on youtube and when i understand that i'm not dreaming i suddenly feel relaxed, chilled and happy (also happy i don't feel like i'm dreaming) but if you go to sleep anxious and high you will most likely wake up like a piece of **** and you won't understand if the high is really over, it might take a month to recover from that.
Omg tahts exacly how I feel man...it's all fake..and I need someone with me to keep my mind off of it
Cannabis induces a response in the body which is very similar to DREAMING. We all dream a lot of time during sleep but do not remember it as it is in subconscious mind and not in conscious. We remember only a small of dream and most which is when we wake up or is very important because only then it reaches own conscious mind.
Now dealing with your problem which is actually not a problem. When you smoke marijuana your brain interprets that you are dreaming while still in consciousness. And thus giving rise to the feeling of ALL IS FAKE
Marijuana opens many realms from subconscious part to conscious inside your brain. This helps you acknowledge a NEW atmosphere which you are VERY MUCH UNFAMILIAR TO. This causes anxiety, Unreal world BUT to overcome this know that this new feeling had always been there
THAT IS TO SAY THAT IT IS THE APPARENTLY 'NEW' SUBCONSCIOUS PART WHICH YOU CAN FEEL INTO YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS.
Nothing to worry about
Stress can induce you to become high when you actually did not smoke. And even if that happens nothing to worry about. Its actually a mechanism against anxiety but because it is new to you, it causes more anxiety and you become more high and such a vicious cycle.
