I have a terrible pain spasm across my entire abdomen if I bend over deeply and it is recently worse, have had this for years, was checked for hernia but dr. said no. It feels like my diaphragm is cramped, cannot catch my breath. This is getting frightening. What could be the cause?

I have acid reflux but it's controlled. I'm 37, 135lb, 5'3" . I noticed this when I bend over, it's like cramping/spasm of a muscle / organ. It's located at the center of my abdomen. I don't get this a lot. I do trunk flexion movements but it doesn't really trigger it.

Thank you so much for putting words to what I have been feeling! Do you have a diagnosis yet?

i have the same problem. There is nothing there. I need to go to a physioterapist. This problem is treated by sport medicine doctors.

I read all your posts yesterday as I was cramping in my abdomen, legs, and hands, even though i had taken lots of potassium. Your remarks and what I read elsewhere indicated one of the causes might be dehydration. I had three glasses of water with lemon at dinner and drank some pedialyte. Today I feel like I new woman. This might not work for everyone but slam back some water. It couldn't hurt.

I am experiencing similar pain. How did the catrick scan come out? Because mine is fine. However they didn't do an ultrasound yet. Please get back to me. Thank you!!

I am also curious to see what happened with this person that first posted as well. I get the severe cramps when I try to polish my toenails. I have been having much nausea and unable to Burp. My stomach is very distended. Help me. I am going for a CT scan on Thursday.

This is very similar to what I have been going through, but on my right side, (this probably has nothing to do with it) but am anxious to find out what happened with you.

This is basically the same thing I am going through. My doctor said that he didn't believe that it was a hernia, but had no idea what it was. When I told him about bending down ... the pain... and it feels as though something slides back into a position where the pain quits when I quickly straighten up... I don't think he took me seriously... but told me to go to a gasterologist (sp), which I did.. This doctor did one of those scope-down-the-throat tests which told me that I had to go on nexium for a while to clear up my esophagus, but showed nothing further down. He gave me a steroid shot in one very sensitive area in my intestinal area, which he said that it was probably some kind of lesion on a muscle... but I am still having the same problem... only difference now is that the pain doesn't seem to subside with it sliding back into position... and seems to take a little longer for the pain ease up and to go away...

Same here mine started after my second child. I'm about 50 lbs over weight, and just thinking I'm squeezing my gut into a cramp when I bend over, or sometimes it happens when I get into my van. So annoying.

Mine has changed from being a tight intense area/pain gone soon after to a larger feeling and a sore pain can last days.
