Think we should set up a facebook site for dandruff lovers?? Or even a website to upload photos of our dandruff and surfaces we shake our snow fall on. We could have a dating section, would be nice to meet a woman who is understanding to my condition.( My ex hated it when i would cover her living room chair arms with dandruff or on the dark wood dining table, she told her friends about my habit when we split up and i was made a laughing stock) So, any nice honest females who want to date a decent looking(apart from the dandruff hidden within my scalp!) honest 38 year old male who loves cars, walking and a bit of cycling from the West Yorkshire area then drop me a line!!

I'm 17 going on 18, and I do that, too, and it's made me lose my hair over the years. It started when I was around ten, and I still have it. I thought I was the only one! I can't believe this! I just don't wanna continue to be unhealthy to my hair. It makes me have scabs on my scalp. I wonder what this even is....but it's just....cool knowing I'm not alone. Not that I'm saying this is a good thing.

Been following the thread for over a year now, but never shared. When I was younger, about 10 I never had dandruff but I loved to remove dandruff anywhere I found it if the owners allowed. My mum enjoys having her dandruff removed. My 2 sisters and I would fight to take turns to remove her dandruff, cos we'd get a chance to stay up late and watch telly, but I'm the only one whose stuck to the practice. I'm 30 now and whenever I visit my mum, I always get her dandruff done. In boarding school, I found that some of my classmates enjoyed it too, or may be they just liked having their scalp touched, so when we ought to be studying they'd beg me to remove dandruff, even girls who didn't have any. All this time I had no dandruff of my own to scrape, I even prayed to get dandruff and I can say my prayers were answered, cos for a couple of years I've had dandruf and can enjoy scratching and seeing the flakes fall. My husband does not enjoy that I remove his 'cos his scalp hurts when he showers but he doesn't have a choice (he's usually sleeping) and when I see dandruff on other people I have to restrain myself from reaching out to remove it. It is indeed a strange and enjoyable hobby.

I've done the same thing to my husband just lying in bed, I actually find it helps me sleep at night just lying there scratching his head!

What the heck! I got where skin flakes are like glue to my hair and I have to pick them out. It's so addicting I don't do it at school, cause its embarrassing. and sometimes they bleed if I pick them out then My face and hair gets greasy. I take a shower everyday and I keep doing it. I want to stop, and now I'm here. Thinking I was the only one.

hi friends,

back in the mid or late 80's a movie A Cry in the Dark starring Meryl Streep and Sam Neil. the character of Sam Neil was a picker too. i sat there wathching this film thingking, will i ever scratch my head untill it bleed? yes, Sam's character pick/scratch his scalp to bleed specially during one court scene.

now im in my 40's i can say that I scratch/pick my scalp to bleed.

good lord! and i thought i m the only one who does that in this world of 7 billion. i have literally gotten worry lines due to constantly looking at my own scalp in the mirror , searching for dandruff deposits/scales/flakes. i scratch my two young daughters scalps till they bleed and scabs appear. i beg and promise them gifts when they scream. i have assured them that this will go on till they get married! this cud run in families as my sister loves to scratch out scabs.  i differ from all of u only bcuz i dont like to see the "snowflakes falling", but just that i cant bear to see those white deposits. my condition is so terrible that there's literally no scalp but maybe a head full of only dandruff. i think dandruff is maybe of 2 types---  the itchy and non itchy type . i have the itchy one and its embarrases me no end to b scratching my head all the time.

i used to put sand in my hair at the sand pit and pull each grain out when i was around 4 or 5 then i progressed to dandruff scratching.
