This may sound weird and it's almost a little embarrising to even share but I'm desperate for help! It doesn't happen very often, maybe 1-2 every 6 months but when it does, it's not only irritating but scary at times. Here is goes...Sometimes my stomach will start cramping really bad as it does when you need to have a bowel movement. It's a cramp that I can tell is going to be diarehha. When I try to go to the bathroom my stomach will be cramping severely and rumbling at the same time. However, it will be impossible for me to go because it seems that it's blocked off by a hard larger stool. Until I am able to get that out I am unable to go. And every time once I do get that first hard large stool out then as expected I will have diareha and once I go I feel better. But my question is concerning what happens while trying to pass the first stool in order to get rid of the rest that is the initial cause of my bellyache. While I'm constipated (only way I know to describe it) my body will start to get warm/tingly feeling and immediately my legs, chest, and belly will turn bright red, itch, and form hives. My tongue also starts to itch and swells some. Never to the point that I lost my airway but enough to worry me and make it somewhat difficult to breathe (unless that is panic). I break out into a sweat. All signs that I associate with an allergic reaction. Once I get the hard stool out and am able to get rid of all the rest that is making me sick it all goes away and I'm fine. I will take a benadryl and be good to go. Just wondering if for some reason I am having an allergic reaction to the toxins in my body that I'm trying to expel. If not what is it?
Hello,
We are all toxic to our own bodies at one point or another. It's important that you mainttain a healthy diet. Make sure you take in lean organic meats and fresh veggies and fruits. Even these foods have toxins that we must get rid of. Normal metabolism produces toxins that we must get rid of. Perhaps you need to keep a log of what you're eating and make a note of the foods that upset your metabolism and generate diarrhea and/or constipation. That way you can stay away from them and keep your digestive tract healthy. It's always good to review what you eat throughout the year and make adjustments each year. As we age we respond differently to foods that we didn't have diffculty with before. You need to upgrade your diet on a regular basis to keep everhting working properly.
