OMG! I feel EXACTLY the same way as you!! :(
I love you! Best response ever!
Thank-you. I'm 53 in August, I started the menopause 3 yrs ago.I do a lot of walking & have now taken up Salsa dancing. I'm a size 12, always have been, lucky I suppose but I do eat well also. I suffer from depression, have gone since my teens, wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Going through the menopause has made it 10 times worse too. I've read a lot of negative comments on here but please take one more look in the mirror & think to yourself " I'm alive " so many people never get the chance to get to our age. When you have depression " Alive " is sometimes what you don't want to be. I don't think about how I look anymore, I'm healthy in body & soul, just wish I was healthy in mind too.
Thank you so much Iover your advice and I am really going to work on this .
omg yes!!! I just goggles , Wht is my face getting so ugly !!! it's so hard to deal with this. I don't want to be seen. I used to be very pretty, some people would say beautiful. I don't recognize this face in the mirror anymore. Will it ever go back to normal ???? My hair is getting so thin and gross. What can I do about this??? Not to mention , my body is getting so fat, despite that I exercise everyday at the gym, and I'm a vegan. Please help me !!!
Ladies I am 57 now and have gone through the menopause and all its horrors . Last year I put myself on natural supplements flax seed oil and isoflavones and they do work . I too was ill tempered felt unattractive old and tired and lost all interest in sex . These supplements have worked wonders for me . I also took up jogging which helps the low moods . Love to you all x
This post made me really sad, I actually cried :( yes I am menopausal myself and emotional but that is not the reason...its because what you are feeling is so very sad! I get it! Seems unfair and you feel hopeless! I have 2 closets full of clothes I can no longer fit into. I was wearing a size 6/8 jeans just over 3 years ago, now wearing 10/12 and shirts small/medium before and now large/XL. My tummy looks weird, I have this front/butt thing going on, I have burning mouth syndrome and my hair is so thin and flat nothing helps! I only want to wear sweat pants and tee shirts until the day I die! Oh, by the way I am 48 and have been going thru meopause for about 5 years or so :(
14 years is waaay too long to be on HRT. Find a new OBG. You're at high risk for breast, cervical & ovarian cancer. HRT is for temporary relief of symptoms. You don't need that now.
I feel exactly the same, except I have always felt ugly, esp. in pictures. My face is crooked and my hair always looks weird. I would feel better if I didn't try so hard to look decent. I don't even care about looking old as much as I care about looking long in the face, squinty eyed and mean. It's awful. I thought with age would come acceptance and I wouldn't care. I really feel like if I put a dress on, people would look at me like a sow looking like a silk purse. Even when I think I look good in the mirror, if someone takes a picture, I look awful and I feel like the mirror tricked me.
Thank you, my thoughts exactly. Whenever you get a response like this you know that person isn't experiencing hot flashes 3-4 times a night that wake you up and make you have to get up and go to the bathroom. They obviously aren't standing at work with a client and break out into a sweat and turn bright red. I'm only 44 and this started for me at age 39. I have had all the wonderful symptoms...depression, rage, night sweats, hot flashes 30-40 minutes apart all day, hair thinning, eyebrows disappearing, bat wings, saggy, non perky boobs. I eat extremely healthy and workout 4 times a week to no avail. So, I totally agree with you.
fantastic. I agree
I just noticed today that my tummy has outgrown my ass! (not pretty) Doggone it! Putting a smile on and going to the beach anyway!
You show classic signs of Cushing disease or very high cortisol. Pls ask a doctor to check cortisol levels.the hallmark sign is the buffalo hump and red streaks on abdomen and legs and weight gain. Pls have it checked. Also ask for a sleep study as sleep apnea can cause this.
And prolapsed female organs are sexy, right!
I agree - the "you rock" post was very inspiring; this is what we need to hear. Thank you for this.
