Anyone tried the lip reduction surgery - part 2

Did you know JLo had a lip reduction too...along with nose job and possible cheek implants but her lips still seem small but then again she has money and time to do whatever.Healing from lip reduction is very emotional.Maybe there is something going on that isn't allowing the results to be permanent on you?

I would appreciate your opinion please as I am having my lip reduction in two weeks! I really need to know, how long after the surgery can you speak normally again??? Reason being I'm a performing artist, and I would like to know roughly how long it will be until I can resume recording songs etc... again.

I did, had the surgery yesterday....

So I was so insecure and not happy with my full lips and had lip reduction surgery two months ago. My lips were very full (top and bottom) and full of wrinkles. I hated them. After the surgery, the bottom lip was much better but the top was still full so I had the top redone after a month. I'm done for now and can live with the results. Anyone contemplating on having such surgery, let me warn you to take minimum two weeks off from work (a lot of swelling) and be ready to deal with numbness, tingling and burning pain for sometime. It hurts! It's been over two months and even though my lips look ok, it feels horrible. It's not comfortable putting on lipstick and forget about kissing. I'm looking forward to at least six months to pass and I hope it feels much better. If you're thinking about lip reduction, think twice and make sure you're ready. I'm African American and hope my story is helpful

Hello All, OMG!!!! I had the lip reduction done in Atlanta. it has been 5 days post surgery.  I am swollen and still in pain. I have meds to help w pain. this is very emotional. I feel like I can not share w friends/ family. I am unable to chew, but this May be good for me to lose weight. I hope to lose 10-20 pounds. 

i also done a lip reduction ... but after six months bruising and redness will not gone .. and sometimes result is good and sometimes swelling when i wakeup...plz tell me that whenever these things will be finished

hi,im filipino male and unlucky having big lips.it is one reason of my low self-esteem.next year is my plan to have the lip reduction surgery to a local doctor.i do not know if he had experience this type of procedure, the only thing i know he is a cosmetics surgeon.im afraid for the result especially the worst side effects;permanent numbness.asymmetry and speech difficulty. thank you-rhen balones

I am a 23 year old guy living in Sweden that want to reduce the size of my lips. I want to do the surgery in the US because the doctors there have the experience with the lip reduction surgery and it is much cheaper to have it done in the US than in Europe.

I don't like my lips because they are too big for my face so i want to reduce both my upper and lower lip with 30-40%, because i want to have very thin lips. My lips are so uncomfortable so i want them reduced. I feel that guys that have full lips are not attractive.

I am planning to go to Dr Sam Lam in Dallas and Dr Phillip Miller in New York. I have heard good things about Dr Sam Lam but i haven't heard anything about Dr Phillip Miller? I have just seen his videos on youtube when he perform the lip reduction surgery and it looks good. Dr Sam Lam said that he charges 3500 dollar for both lips but i dont know how much Dr Phillip Miller charges for both lips. Anyway i think 3500 is a reasonable price because i think the average price in Europe is about 5000 euro.

Are the results permanent? How long is the recovery?
