Hello! My grandmother suffers from arthritis. Although she takes all medicines her doctor prescribes I can’t say her condition is improved much. I think the problem is she eats lots of unhealthy food. She adores meat and potatoes and she doesn’t take enough fresh fruit and vegetables. Are potatoes bad for people who suffer from arthritis?
The cold potato water is an ayervedic remedy - what is does is help restore gut flora.  It is not the same as eating potatoes in a traditional way.
Which of the potatoes? Irish potatoe or sweet potatoes(white or red)?
I read this on AOL yesterday, I started drinking it yesterday. I couldn't believe it, so I had to see if there was anything on the web about. Thanks so much! Mickie
It's the carbs/sugars that are fueling the flare ups. Proteins aren't the issue.
I found 2 cures for arthritis. One is much easier to make and is faster acting. It is potato water. I have used it and trust it completely. Very easy to make. Take 3 medium sized potatoes and peel them, then cut into small cubes. Put into a pot and add just enough water to cover the potatoes. Put on the stove n high heat (until it starts to boil) then quickly turn element to simmer and let it simmer for 25 minutes. Then pour the liquid into 2 or 3 cups (depends on how much you make). Let cool and then drink Take it 1 - 3 times daily. The more often it gets into your system the faster the arthritis goes away. It works every time. If she has grinding arthritis around her knee caps, take 25 cherries a day. I divide it into 2 doses. Take 12 cherries in the morning and 13 at night. It can be any type of cherries. Sour, sweet, Bing, gummy, maraschino, any type.
Potatoes cause joint pain and stiffness definitely, I would never have guessed it was the humble Potato that was causing me so much pain until one day last Summer after waking up cripple with pain and stiffness I realised that the only thing I had eaten the day before in any great quantity was some baby Potatoes ( home grown and delicious) once I cut Potatoes out of my diet the joint pain and stiffness disappeared. I wish I had known about this year's ago so I could have helped my Mother who suffered the same and practically existed on a diet of Potatoes.
So Vit D3 was part of the cause here too?
So what did you replace potatoes with? What about potatoes and gravy, mashed potatoes etc?
Do you boil them and drink the water, or just soak raw and drink the water?
