im 15 and i sometimes get heavy bleeding after going to the toilet. its startin to worry me but i dont want to tell my mum.

im 15 also and tonight after i went to the bathroom i noticed a little bit of blood on the toilet paper. it wasnt an alarming amount, but it got me a little bit scared. i dont know if this will continue or not, i guess if it doesnt, then everything is fine. i also just finished my period about 2 days ago, so i guess it could have even been a little spotting. i also havent been "regular" so i guess that could have something to do with it. i also dont want to tell my mom, its a little embarassing for a 15 year old to have this problem. does anyone think this is serious, do i have to tell my mom?

It's usually scary when we notice something out of the ordinary and can't understand it. However, I beg you to tell your mother and consult a physician immediately. It's better to be checked and discover nothing is wrong than to wait and find out it could've been prevented.

hi i am 19 and hav always had problems with bowel movements. when i was 14 or 15 i was constipated for a long time when i did eventually go it was so painful, agony to pass this one stool and after tht i was scared to go again incase it would be the same, so tht went on for a while until i started going a bit more normal, still now i roughly go aboutonce evry 3 or 4 days id say. well the other day after a bowel movement there was a small amount of blood in the water which got me worried, there was also blood on the paper but ive always had tht, jst thot it was down to contipation or piles, but never in the water. also there was one time where i went to the toilet but only passed a small amount but it felt for sure tht i needed a big stool like i normally pass, it kept me on the toilet for good period of time trying to pass this 'big stool' but there was never one. i read tht feeling u need to pass a big amount of faeces but never actually occuring can mean cancer, aswell as blood in the water, even though it wasnt a vast amount, and both have only happened twice should i be worried??

Experiment with eliminating foods. Try taking all gluten and casein out of your diet. You might have a sensitivity, allergy, intolerance, or Celiac Disease
Sure is worth trying and it costs nothing.

I am also experiencing the same thing, bright bleeding from my vagina after having to strain to have a bowel movement. It's only when I have to strain. If I have a regular, normal bowel movement, I'm ok.

The blood is bright red, and it's just so annoying.

I see a lot of you have these symptoms, but I don't see what's really causing it. Have any of you found out?

I guess I should make another doctors appointment. I am also having horrible back pain and I am scheduled for a MRI next week. I didnt mention the bleeding to my doctor when I went the last time because I had stopped doing it for a while. Now in the past three days I've bled every day. :'(

For the past few days I have had bleeding with my bowel movements, I have an appointment with my doctor to make sure everything is okay, but for those of you who are nervous about blood in your stool, it is most likely not too much of a problem. Blood in stool can often occur from passage of hard stool, or excessive diarrhea. It's happened to me in the past and often goes away after a few days at the most, but it's always good to get it checked out anyway.

Hi there,

I have been silent about bleeding after my bowels for the last 3 years. Everytime i finish my bowels and when i am cleaning using the toilet paper, i will get blood after the 2nd or 3rd pass using the paper.

Nothing really works for me until i took a health food that is rich in Fucoidan (typically found in brown sea weed off the coast of Japan). And to be precise, i took it for approximate 7 days and i found the bleeding slowed to a trickle and by end of 2 weeks, the bleeding stops totally since then. I AM CURED!!!

I hope this don't sound too commercial but I felt compelled to share my success story. Hooray for Fucoidan!

I ignored rectal bleeding. Turns out it was anal cancer.

1) get checked.
2) Never force a dump.
3) drink plenty of water
4) eat metamucil to bulk up stool either for loose or hard stools.
5) add some benefiber to help control hard stools.
6) Your stool should float.
Exercise helps regulate too.

Any time you add fiber do it slowly and always add extra water.

If you pass hard stools..you can rip your tender skin..and that can turn into cancer. Been there done that.

Wipe gently folks. The skin is tender. Wet wipes help but try to get ones without alcohol. They cannot be flushed in toilet if you have a septic system.

Sitz bath helps. You can put a shallow layer of water in the tub and sit in it.
Or they sell a small pan you put on toilet and run some hot water.

If you are worried about extremely loose..and need control (like a meeting) take a lomotil.

Adding flax seed (ground) also helps.

Good luck.

If you have good bowel habits you might avoid cancer. Anal cancer is not fun. They radiate you until the skin falls off your privates. NOW THAT HURTS. And then they radiate more..and your skin continues to fall off.

You cry when you pee.

So heed my advice. Eat fiber, Drink water. Exercise and do not strain.
If you are a young lady, get the HPV shot.

i really feel you should approach your mum about this -you shouldn't be afraid/embarrassed as you can see there are lots of people here with the same problem.

i had bleeding for quite sometime eventually got up the courage to go to the doctors and it was treatable with cream (haemoroids) excuse my spelling

but if there is any form of bleeding that is unusual no matter how embarrassing at least tell your parents or even get a close friend to go to thedcotors with you

I have been having a problem with blood in my bowels for two years. There appears to be blood on the toilet paper and sometimes a lot of blood in the toilet. It is a bright red and looks like I am having a period from my anus. Is this a serious problem or could it be just something simple. I do have bleeding trouble with periods also.

Please go get things checked out espically those who are 15. Your parents would rather have you know that this is happening than you hide it from them. Talk to whichever parent you are most comfortable with and let them know. It may be embarrassing but it is your parents you should be able to talk to them about anything espically your health.

I have been experiencing blood in my bowels for a few weeks now. Just a slight bit after passing. If it continues for the next movement I will go to the doctor.

I am encouraging everyone to attend doctors, espically if it is a large amount of blood. You never know what it could turn out to be and it is always better to catch things earlier than later.

Better to be safe than sorry in the long run.

This started happening to me when I was pregnant. Every time I passed a stool, there was blood, most of the time not a lot but couple of times it was like full blown period amount. Also sometimes when I went toilet it felt like my insides were being scrapped, so thought this may have been a cause, as my stools were often hard and I was constipated a lot throughout my pregnancy.
After I gave birth this subsided and 17 months later it seems to have gone.

defintly go to the doctor, don't be afraid to tell your mom's, i'm sure they would be worried and understand. I am now 21, i started having bleeding around your age. I have had many test ran on my body since then for this problem. They never gave my for sure dignostic but i belive what caused my problem is a spastic colon, which causes me to use the bathroom a lot and i always have a little blood on the toliet paper. Now i am experencing more pain and more blood, even when just peeing. I believe what causes my problem is the lining is exposed and toren. I noticed that i never had this issue until i became sexualy active. I dont know if you girls are, but that could cause it. Just talk to your mom's they have been threw these issues before and i'm sure they would rather have you looked at and it be nothing, then for it to be something life threating and you not get help because your afraid. if the blood is just on the toliet paper and not in your stool I'm sure it's the same issue i have. Just get it checked out ALWAYS!!!

I am also 15 - how odd - and a few months back, after using the restroom, I found blood on the tolite paper. Assuming it'd go away, I just ignored it. Then yesterday, after using the restroom, there was a rather large amount of blood, so much that it had started to drip into the tolite before I had even wiped. At that point I was really worried. Then, again today after using the restroom I again was bleeding; this time it wasn't as much as yesterday. I'm getting a bit worried, which is my cause to be online looking it up, and I'm afraid to tell my mum. What should I do?
