My dear you have a parasitic infecction. You must have your stool checked

for traces of eggs or active live bacteria. Metrodinazole(Flagyl) is the

medication of choice. However this infections are stubborn and sometimes

last for months.Castor oil purges are also effective in some people.

The gas is a byproduct of bacterial microorganisms, the most gas

the most severe the infeccion.Gas X and Gaviscon will not help or cure it.

Most of my patients respond very well to Metrodinazole-Terramicin

treatment.Ask your health provider for a prescription,You must be

under treatment for 2 weeks. The mucus you see in the stool is produced

by your colon to protect the inner walls from damage. meaning your

colon is responding well to infecction. relax you will live..!

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that your showing all the symptoms of having Crohn's Disease. It is very common to have bloody & mucus bowel movements, also all these anal fissures that your having are VERY common in Crohn's.. I also had a colonscopy and they found infection in my bowels and I had a rectal fistula and also a fissure (there is a difference)..but what concerns me about you, is that your doctor only put you on flagyl for the inflammation, did he not inform you that you had Crohn's Disease? Flagyl is what they prescribe to most crohn's patients, I am also taking that myself. I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease almost a year ago and if you find yourself always having stomach pains and having dirreaha or just going to the bathroom ALOT during the day and sometimes feeling constipated and feeling tired or exhausted, then you most likely have Crohn's.. you should go back to the doctor and ask him questions and even get a 2nd opinion..... Trust me, If you have Crohn's disease, you will want a doctor that is specialized in that particular disease, because your normal primary care physician isn't gonna know how to treat you as good. This is a very serious disease and can be life threatening, especially when your dealing with Fissures and fistula's, the infection can go into your blood stream and cause blood poison and kill you.... trust me, I have already dealt with this issue 4 times now and it can be very scary.. so anyways, I just thought I would share a few things with you, cause I was waiting for you to say " I have Crohn's, but you never did, So I felt scared for you, you need to be diagnosed properly by a specialist. just wanting to help you :) Have a great night.

I have the exact same symptoms as well.
I am beginning an 8 week session of colon hydrotherapy and hoping this helps.
Has any one of you read the Makers Diet book?
Are you loosing weight too.
It can cause autoimmune problems as well. I have been anemic for several years as well with severe fatigue.
I eat well - I agree - stay away from gluten.
Get a food allergy test done as soon as possible.

I am a 30 year old female who had twins a year ago. for the last week I have been experiencing the symptoms many of you have described...lots of mucous, sometimes a tinge of blood, bloating, gas, urgency. I too am scared. I am seeing a trend after reading these posts... for the most part we are women of childbearng age and many of us have just had a child or were pregnant. perhaps this is hormonal?

I am a 57 year old female and I too have the same symptoms. Lots of mucus and red blood. Feels like dirrhea coming on with abdominal pains, lots of gas as well. Today I went for a walk and had to run home as the urgency was out of control. A lot of orange mucus and light red blood. I eat well. Lots of fiber and fluids. I exercise and am in good physical health. I have been under hudge stress for the past three days as my dog died. Perhaps we have something with the stress thing? I haven't really eaten much for a few days. Today I tried yogurt and I think my reaction to that was the worse.
What do we do now. I am thinking positive......any suggestions?

I was googling my symptons and came across this forum. I'm having simular problems (28 yr old male) and I came across this website that really hit home for my situation... I'm going to ask my Dr. about Ulcerative Colitis.. here's the link if you're interested:

http://www.digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/colitis/#top

I have the same symptons mentioned here, but I also have joint pain and skin leisions and I get tired frequently (not everyone get's them aparently with this but.... ) ...I thought this website might be helpful to others here... another avenue to venture with the Dr?

i hope this helps. Take care all!

notice thru this forum most onsets are associated with childbirth. I am 61. At 28 gave birth to 2nd of 3 children, after which have suffered this same problem. Had rectal tearing with him not repaired until birth of of 3rd child at 40. Have recently had more bleeding. fatigue. Have low thyroid and torticollis as well. recent weight loss I attributed to increased metabolism due thyroid medication. sound like a mess? im not..i work and date. have never discussed with doctor since scared it was cancer but obviously wasnt..or i wouldnt be here. obsessive career person too. lots of stress. no pain with it or as much gas as others describe. sometimes has gone away for years at a time but its back now and bleeding daily. hope this helps others but would really like an answer.

I am 33 years old female, with 3 children. About 4 weeks ago I had a stomach bug and noticed with lots of diahrrea I also was passing blood and mucous. I went to the dr who checked for hemmroids and parasites...nothing. I seemed to feel better after a week long bout of diahrrea and bloody mucuousy stool. After a week of regular bm's I had stomach (gassy pain) and started passing more bloody mucous. I too, like most of you have been under tremendous stress and have been told that I probably have IBS and maybe a fissure causing the blood. Like all of you as well, I have been searching the INternet and its all bad...any blood in the stool points directly to cancer. I am overwhelmed with worry. I have a sigmoidoscopy in 2 weeks, but scared of what will come from it. Any ideas?

I'm 42 and had my last child at the age of 40, big surprise. In the last week I have noticed blood and mucus in my stools, same as you guys, when you gotta go you gotta go, but when you get there it's just alot of gas and mucus. Going to the doctor tomorrow to see if I can get some answers and like every one of you am nervous what the results will be. Alot of you mention stress, this could be partly a cause as I too have been under alot of stress.

I am 42 and started having blood and mucus in stools about a week ago, very scarry. I'm off to the doctor tomorrow and hopefully will get some answers. I am also very tired most of the time. I think stress has alot to do with it, hope I'm not grabing at straws. It's good to know that there is others out there with the same problems, it's not an easy subject to talk about.

All of you are somewhat middle-aged, some of you even have had kids...But I have these symptoms. and I'm only 17. Im really scared whats happening, and I dont want to tell anyone because I live with Foster Parents, and I am not 18 yet so I cant just go out and see my doctor. With foster parents, who knows if they would kick me out of their home if they knew this. I am really worried, and I dont know if i should even go see a doctor becauase from what all you [very nice] women, they dont know what it is, and there seems to be no point...I am really worried as well. I'd go see someone if I thought there was some hope of them determining the cause and something to fix it.
