I wanted to see if anyone else has had issues with drinking protein shakes. I was drinking the Ensure protein shakes last summer for about a month. I ended up in the hospital due to very low potassium, irregular heart rate and weakness...Was not sure of anyone else had this issue...I want a high protein drink and am now afraid to even try something new.
Hi everyone,
I'm a 40yr female and have been using Whey Protein shakes, Whey Protein powders and Protein bars off and on for years and have only experienced gas. I've started using Pro Performance AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60 powder mix yesterday and its given me gas and a bubbly stomach. This morning i had blood in my stool. I'm going to see my dr on Friday but in the mean time, i will monitor myself and stop drinking it.
What I'm wondering is how long your bloody stool last for?
I received some whey protein shake in the mail 2 days ago. I've never used this stuff before. I opened it and it smelled so delicious I tried a glass at 9PM. When I woke up the next morning I had a glass for breakfast.
That afternoon I went to the bathroom, but didn't go #2.. but for some reason I decided to wipe anyway.. there was blood! Alarmed because I'd never had that happen before. That was yesterday. I had a few hours left of work and wiped once or twice more, because my underwear was a little wet.
Today the same problem. Wiping off blood. I had no trouble going #2, though.
I'm windering how long I should wait before going to a doctor.
if you get the runnies after protein skates, is the shake a waste of time of does your body gain from the powder?
hi, i had the same problem with pains in my foot! ok one day, the next, bang! could hardly walk, the whey protein had jacked up my uric acid levels, causing crystals to form in my foot joints, ( gout!!! ) i stopped the whey protein and the pain went, never had it since! whey protein always gives me diahhrea like the guy above so maybe its connected? who knows.
Hi I had the opposite problem..everytime I use Protein shakes the BW after is extremely difficult to pass and it feels like a bowling ball wanting to come out and sometimes there is bleeding, I never get this when I am not drinking the shakes, it feels like trying to pass concrete out the back, the secret is to eat fibre something like Kellogs allbran works for me softens it up and no more pain and difficulty passing!
