I have been dealing with the same thing since July. Three rounds of antibiotics, Gabapentin and a CAT scan. A friend mentioned going to a chiropractor for an adjustment and acupuncture. I have had two treatments and I am feeling much better. It's a long shot, but that is what finally took the edge off for me. I still feel a bit swollen on my right side, but I do not have the headaches and burning sinuses anymore.

Would you please tell me what kind of doctor you went to for this condition? I have been struggling with this for two years and have gone to 18 different Doctors but everything you said is so true for me.

I too, have been having severe sinus problems, that eventually even causes burn in chest. Feel so dumb now; if I don't change my furnace filter every month--this is what happens. Another site full of people who believe it to be GERD, but I have gone that route---it is sinus irritation. 1/2 hour after changing filter and running fan (on), not auto and my burning has let up. Hope helps someone

Thank you for posting this. I've had pain burning & crackling type sensations in my left nostril for almost 3 years now. I was doing Botox & thought that was the initial cause of the problem. But now that I'm a year away from my last shot of the Botox I'm not so sure. I think it is stress related. I've been doing acupuncture & just started an antidepressant. I'll try the Motrin too. I'm at my wits end. So painful & debilitating.

I urge you to go to Kevin Smith MD. He is a facial plastic surgeon and an ENT. He specializes in migraines and sinus pain and has an 88% cure rate. He also can look at your Sinus CT scans before you even visit his office to see if he can help.

I am having the same symptoms as the first person's post here Remowest803689. Same progression even the burning pain in left nasal. It is also driving me crazy as i cannot get enough sleep. Thanks to everyone for their posts and feedback. I have never had a sinus issue but also have never had a cold that lasted as long as this recent truly vicious little virus. 3 weeks and still coughing a little, draining a little at night but the burning pain is so
bad that it is waking me up
several times during the night and i am even incorporating it into
my dreams.

So what dr did you see and get the diagnosis, my ent dr did my ct scan said everything was fine sent me on my way.. I'm in week 4 now and on my 3rd round of antibiotics and nothing seems to matter. Better for a few days then right back at it. My headaches are mild to severe, neck up the back of my head. But my right sinus is burning and I hear fizzing or crackling in my nose and back of my throat. Like I said good for one minute then bad for the next day. Light headed, dizzy and headaches seem to be the worst of it. Lack of appetite which is prbly from antibiotics.. please let me know what dr did find out what was wrong.

I too have the burning in my forehead, went to the ENT Dr. just told to use Neil Med nasal rinse every night then spray nasal core into my sinus. Lastly take a zyrtec daily. Just started this last night. Fell better today but still have a little burning. I have noticed the burning is worst the more I'm stressed. I started taking Stress B-Complex also to see if it helps.

Wow! Thanks everyone for posting your issues. I have had the same problem for the past year. At first I thought I had a severe sinus infection. After several treatments of antibiotics with no relief I had CT of the brain and sinus. A 9 mm bone spur was found in my left upper sinus. Hurrah, I thought we had found the problem. Had sinus surgery and while they were up there they fixed my deviated septum. After a week the ice pick/burning head aches were back. Just on the left side. Not always the same. They were ice pick just above my left eye, burning towards my left temple and a throbbing one behind my left eye. My ENT was dumbfounded so I am now seeing a Neurologist and am being treated for Migraine headaches. The medication that they have me on is not really doing anything. Over the counter decongestants are the only thing that seem to take the edge off. I have been tested for allergies and have none. One thing that does seem to help some times is holding my nose with my fingers and pushing air into my sinuses. It seems weird but by wife had blocked Eustachian tubes and she had to do that to clear the out. Thanks again good luck everyone.
