Hey I’m doing the same as I never realised alcohol affected your joints and other things in the Body. It might help
Hi,
I know this post is old, but I couldn't help but notice the mention of joint pain (with alcohol) and liver problems. My sister has exactly the same thing and has been recently diagnosed with coeliac disease. Despite having seen a rheumatologist and a liver specialist, neither picked it up, and they both basically told her there was nothing wrong with her. It was only when she started getting horrible ulcers on her tongue that she was diagnosed by her GP.
She has only been gluten free for a short time now, so it is difficult to say whether the coeliac has been the cause of her joint pain, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
All the best.

Same issues here. Came back negative on arthritis tests, but I am finding that cutting out beer for a few days reduces the soreness and stiffness in fingers, wrists, and elbows. It is frustrating that the Dr. doesn’t know why this is the case, something I just figured out on my own.
Unfortunatly, the answer is yes, the drinking days are over. You unknowingly have become an alcoholic; even as a sucessful professional, you are still a controlled alcoholic. Once an addict or alcoholic you will always be an alcoholic. The only way to stay sober is to join A.A. which will become a healthy support group and substitute drinking, replacing the habit and becomming the new style of living healthy.

Same Here, I’m 42 y/o and my right knee hurts everytime I drink beer ( Corona, Smirnoff, Michelob Ultra) it hurts right below the knee, I. Got scared , but after reading all these post her made me feel not too anxious, I will stop drinking beer and just drink Scotch /Whisky..
It's not the acid in the beer, it's the purines which the body isn't metabolizing efficiently which causes uric acid levels to rise.
Yes. Precisely the symptoms I experience. No research into the cause as yet that I can see.
Gout is more likely to affect the big toe joints first before any other joing and I know this through experience of having gout myself, the whist and knuckles are one of the last joints for you to experience pain in from gout.
Alcohol will bring attacks on but not the major cause of it first starting either as I haven't been a heavy drinker even when young and had no more than around 6 pints or any wine or spirits in the last 10 years but still suffered badly at first until I found one of the main triggers that brings mine on, as long as I don't eat to much cauliflower mine is fine as that's a high purin veg.
I’ve had lots of issues with joint pain, cracking etc related to alcohol. Stopping drinking, it eventually clears up.
