Yes,Weight loss is guaranteed by overdosing on laxatives, but the side effects that it causes include permanent damage to the GI Tract and the weakening and softening of the bones, known as osteomalacia

laxatives lead to prolonged diarrhea which can lead to dehydration and depletion of important minerals.

Long-term over-use of laxatives can damage muscle within the bowel wall and eventually predispose to chronic problems. Laxatives only alter weight by causing fluid-depletion within the body.

I am 5'6 to can you tell me more about what kind you are using and how to control it.

No, that person probably isn't lying you know. I took 90 laxatives a day for over 2 years....(I don't advise anybody to do this) I was very sick with annorexia...11 years on I no longer abuse laxatives or suffer annorexia but the damage is done. I can only eat very small amounts and I am always constipated so I need to eat foods that are extremely high in fibre all the time. Dont take laxatives, just be strict with how much you eat and what you eat.

Sweet Heart I hope you wtill are about to read this now that you are 20 years old! :) You are fabulous!!! The weigh will come and go...it does not make you so don't let it break you! Love yourself!

Chances are taking laxatives will cause you to lose some weight, but not in the way you think it does. Some of the weight will be lost by purging feces... and also via loss of water caused by constantly needing to defecate, especially through laxative abuse, and since the body contains much water, becoming dehydrated will make you weight less... but you'll still have the fat and instead cause damage to liver/kidney function, heart issues etc. As also stated, long term use it will cause damage to the digestive tract and cause constipation if you ever stop taking them. Seriously, just don't do it.

Don't go on a diet they do not work but what you need is a lifestyle change. I am over weight myself and I lose weight if I eat healthy eat 4 to 5 times a day and go for regular walks. Healthy food can be awesome and delicious. Unsure if something is healthy? Food with a limited shelf life is good for you. Things that last a week or two. Fruits n veges. If you need a snack have a small healthy one. SUPPORT is also important in my eyes, someone who can help you go for walks with you help prepare and cook healthy meals maybe a few days worth at once

Have you tried HCG? I used the drops and spray and lost 26 pounds in 21 days. I had more energy than I have ever had, my doctor watched over me and said it was wonderful to see me not have so many aches and pains and be able to get out and do things! You have to follow it to the letter tho and when it says drink tons of water...DO IT! I am not even sure the drops did anything, but I also had to up my calorie intake from 500 a day to 800 a day because I was so active and the 500 a day is for sitting still. They don't even want you to walk because you do not eat enough. I would try it, it is basically just a certain mixture of fruits and veggies and a small amount of lean meat and fish.
