Burts Bees, EOS and many other oil based chapsticks will have that affect in me. It can just be too oily for some sensitive skin. If I use normal chapstick brand then it works gine, if not then my the pores around my lips become inflamed and it is hard to differentiate where my lip starts and ends. It will also be itchy and hapstick does nothing to help if it is also oil based. Wax based chapstick works best in this case. But, lately I have been using chapstick brand on my lips before I go to bed and when I wake up my lips feel plumper and kind of "fluffy" ever since I got stung on the lip three times by a bee. Do you think this is a reaction to that incident or has it just been happening my whole life and I've never noticed it? Am I allergic to something in chapstick? May be some minor problems but just wondering if this has ever happened to somebody else.
Very common to be allergic to latex pillows or latex mattresses or mattress toppers.
I felt the same thing , you can feel the lip swelling , literally, so I take an antihistamine immediately. It helps reduce the swelling in a matter of hours but doesn't solve the underlying problem. I also make sure that I take antihistamine which does not have a drowsy or sleepy side effect.
Hey..Did u know what the problem was? I am experiencing the same symptoms as you and I have no idea what's causing it. Pls help.
Are you all in kona,Hawaii.
We have been to the hospital and to a allergist and they will treat it , but it comes back every other month or so. Does anybody know any home remedies I can give my poor husband. We just can afford any more Drs we owe them too much and they haven't fixed or found the problem.
Allergic reaction to something. Mine just swelled and I know it has to be food allergy. Im allergic to eggs and hoping I'm not allergic to dairy now. You wrote this over a year ago, I hope you found out by now.
Thank you for this. I have Hashimotos and just learning about all the great effects it has on your body. I have the same hive regiment as you mention. Have you tried any detoxing for relief?
Oh my gosh, I have the same swollen lip issue too! I've had it for about three months now. It comes and goes, depending on what I eat. If I eat spicy foods, like Indian food from India, or something with the new MSG in it, I get a flare up. I have also noticed a pattern when I eat strawberries. I would never eat Asian or Seafood of any kind, dangerous for your health. Ugh, I wish they would do away with GMO, soy oils.
May 22, 2017: Clown lip?! Had pineapple and upper half-lip swollen. Had antibiotics. Amoxycillin 500mgs. took one. It seems it lowered to be swollen. I'll check it again after another one. After having breakfast.
I noticed this was over a year ago, but I'm now having the exact same problem. Did you ever find anything out? I've tried EVERYTHING with not much relief.
You may have bed bugs
Could it be impetigo?
You might look into histamine intolerance. Sounds like my sisters problem.
It sounds like aspartame products are the problem any "sugar free" items. Sweet and low is also one. Hope you are better!
