chronic soar throat swollen lymph nodes in throat!!!

lump in throat.

I have been having a soar throat for the past eight month . Is it normal for a person to have a soar throat for this long . I am 35 male . I have not shown to a doctor yet , I am scare of being HIV . I am scared and dont know what to do .

I am also a musician with a similar problem. It started with a lung infection and later I developed pain after prolonged talking. After a year or so I developed swollen lymph nodes, difficulty breathing, mild ear and jaw pain. I have a feeling that it might be related to my breathing patterns or jaw positions I use when playing horn. After many visits to ENTs I have had no luck. I was sent to a voice therapist which was not helpful. The breathing difficulty is getting quite bad and I really don't know who to turn to.

It sounds like you might have an allergy to something. Some times new fragences, foods, products can make someone have a reaction like this.



You can go to a voice specialist who specializes in matters of throat. I suggest trying to get a biopsy of your throat. Endoscopy might be useful to check for lesions or problems in throat. But more than anything it sounds like it might be a post nasal drip irritating the back of your throat. Try taking something like zirtec, allegra, or claritan.

I am a 34 year old female who was diagnosed with melanoma back in March. It was very superficial and they took it out and nothing else was required. The dr said it would be nearly impossible for it to have spread since it was so superficial. Fast forward to last month when I got strep throat. I was on 3 antibiotics and it finally went away but a lymph node (which happens to be on the same side as my melanoma) is still swollen. The drs were worried and have done an ultrasound and a catscan which just showed a swollen node. I am waiting on a petscan I had done yesterday. Is is possible for lymph nodes just to swell on one side of the neck when you have strep throat and for them to take this long to go down? I also have ear pain occasionally. I do tend to poke on them everyday and they do seem to have went down a bit. Has anyone had experience with lymph nodes taking a long time to go down? Thanks for help. I am terribly worried as I have a 5 year old and 13 year old who need their mom around!

I am sitting here in pain right now with the exact same pain that I have had for months. I switches from side to side the swollen glands and ear aches, popping in ears, and ringing in ears. ITs weird when it starts I keep thinking oh man Im going to get sick..but I really dont get completely sick I just get the swollen glands, ear ache, and sometimes sore throat.

What got me worried is that I have been to Chile, China, and last year Peru. What could it be from over seas? I am taking amoxacillin AGAIN and I bet it wont help worth a darn!

Ive had the same problem for about five or six months. But heres the deal so far with me, to the best of my knowledge. I JUST quit smoking, about a month ago. Still have the problem, but Ive been a heavy smnoker for about six years. Im nineteen years old and Ive sang for many bands, and mostly for my own enjoyment. It is my passion and I havent been able to do it without exhausting my neck and chest. It takes way too much effort and begins to hurt. I saw a docter about five months ago and he looked down into my throat and noticed a small growth on the back of my tongue. He told me it was basically a case of mucus getting underneath the tissue and building up like a cist, and its very common in smokers, and its why peoples voices get low and raspy. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this, if these are anything like your symptoms, and if anyone knows if this goes away. CAUSE I AM NEAR SUICIDAL NOT BEING ABLE TO SING.

i have had the same thing for nearly 6-7 months and along with everything that has been written about i have also been having cronic headaches some lasting for 6days and still copunting. Numerous painkilllers don't touch it and im currently waiting for a ear nose and throat specialist to see me again. i have also had a ulta sound and that sowed swelling but thats it. im only 26 too and im starting to get quite worried please has anyone got any ideas.

Add another victim to the list. The only thing I don't have along with the swollen glands is a sore throat, at least not to sore.
mine started 2 years ago this month, with a blood draw that left me with a swevere infection. ever since then I get sowllen lymp nodes everywhere in my body, even had surgery on the ones in the groin. I get hese supposedly localize infections for mo reason then all nodes swell and become tender. These swellings never go down. I have had every blood test imagineable and nothing ever shows up. I woke up yesterday and my eyebrow on the right side was swollen and red, my lymnodes were the size of glof balls. I was worried because my vision was blurry and I was very dizzy. I was told to go to the ER. more blood work nothing showed up. What is up with this condition! I don't think I can continue felling sick like this for another 2 years. I have finally decided that I am insisting my Dr. send me to a larger medical facility to find the cause.
I feel bad for everyone who has this condition, maybe medical science isn't advanced enough to pick up the cause of this condition yet.
I hope all of you find the answers you need and be more insistant to your Dr. I know tomorrow morning I am going to.

I seem to have the same thing as all you guys... It's only been for a bit over a week now, and I haven't been getting too much ear pain... not for the past few days anyways, but my soar throat and swollen glands don't seem to be getting any better. I smoke weed pretty much every day but for the pass couple days I've stopped completely smoking it... Instead I cook with it... I don't smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol at all...

I'll keep checking here, and I'll let you guys know if I discover anything related to this...
