From what I understand, it can be caused by tongue muscle movements hitting the upper part of the throat. Try rolling the top upwards when you hear the sounds and see if it stops (for my case, it stops instantly). I don't think there really 100% fix for this (that I am aware of). If you have allergies, your sinus problem could be another reason that is causing this issue as well.

The clicking is a form of obstructive sleep apnea. It occurs when you don't get enough oxygen while sleeping. Get tested.

Lol, sounds exactly like me and my husband! We've been together for a long time and he clicks in his sleep! Along with a wide symphony of other noises, he makes while he sleeps. But the clicking is the wosrt. It's like nails on a chalkboard! It gets worse when his sinuses are swollen. I'm dseparate to find a solution. I've tried the obvious stuff, allergy pills, nose strips....

This guy is wrong about it is^. I'm too lazy to read if his remedy works. But what it is, is the back of your throat clicking, it's like at the back of your throat not teeth or jaw. Ik this cause my roomate is currently keeping me awake and I'm cheesed too, I'd divorce you, lol jk.

Just watched a TedTalks about sleep manipulation...long story short; scientists discovered that when they made a clicking sound at certain times during sleep it actually improved that person's sleep, memory, and brain health...So, if we are naturally doing this maybe it's a good thing. Maybe it's a superpower to do it on our own.
