I suggest looking at your diet as recommended to me by a Dr. Write down what you eat for the day and compare, etc. The time my noises started, I was taking summer courses and working out in the morning. I was also drink protein drinks on a regular basis. I've come to realize that I may have a lactose intolerance. Although it doesnt make me sick, it may just not be digestable. Once summer school was done with, the noises subsided for some time and became much less frequent.
Among other things, I have changed up my diet since I have starting working full time (and my stomach noises started reappearing). I have been drinking more coffee and eating more greens (lettuce with sandwichs, etc.). I am not sure if the increase in fiber has anything to do with it or maybe the fact that I have just started drinking more milk. Either way, I think I am going to take some probiotics for awhile and examine the results. All else fails, I will just stop drinking coffee.
NOTE: I drank a cup of coffee this morning with my bagel, which I don't usually do, and my stomach is going crazy even while I type this! lol
This problem sucks but I try to not let it bother me. I am quite healthy so if this is my 'hang-up' for the rest of my life I think I will be alright. Needless to say I just feel sorry for my cubical-neighbors. Only one has confronted me about it and that was because we were talking and my stomach decided to interrupt. I always just say I missed breakfast even though that the noises sound nothing like "hunger" noises.

Sounds like the acid that eats and breaks down our food is overactive, for some people they don't even need to be eating for this annoying disco in the gut to be happening.
The Solution
You need to rebalance the acid so it only functions as much as it needs to. Go to a health shop and buy 2 products...
1. Probiotics to sort out the existing problem
2. Digestive Enzymes to back up the probiotics
Depending on the severity, you may need to take the digestive enzymes in the same way you would take vitamins once a day.
The sounds should die down, then disappear, the actual feeling you get in the stomach should move lower and lower until gone...well until your hungry, but that is a normal reaction. Good luck

The two links above were helpful to me and made me feel better about my constant stomach noise.
If you're skipping meetings or nervous about your work environment all I can say is everyone has stomach noise at some point. Are you allowed to play music quietly in your cubical, sometimes that makes me feel better.
Also a lot of times when I apologize to someone nearby for the noises they say they can't even hear it.
If it gets really loud I just laugh and say something like my stomachs talking. People usually chuckle with you. Don't let it ruin your life.
Yes, I get embarrassed by it especially if it sounds like passing gas but its inside my stomach and I have no control over it. I have even tried going into the restroom and forcing gas to pass but does not help.
I'm going to try some of the tips in the second link above.

breakfast: Chex cereal, banana, or apple and Alive multivitamin
Lunch: Tuna fish (with Miracle Whip) on gluten free bread
Dinner: steak or chicken (non breaded), A1 sauce, Green Giant antioxidant vegetable pack (frozen section of grocery stores), apple sauce, milk.
Snacks: Frito Lay Baked Chips, Caffeine Free Pepsi or Coke, Dean's French Onion Dip, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Starburst fruit candy.
I eat all that stuff regularly and my stomach is quiet as can be. If I eat even the tiniest amount of gluten its ww3 in my stomach so if you have this problem don't think well I will eat just this one tiny thing and won't hurt. It will!!

But why hasn't anyone in the world taken this as a serious case. There is no precise medical explanation and it is practically overlooked. I think we should create awareness so that it cam be looked into and a real cure found. Maybe like some drug that just stops these noises, or a procedure that sucks all the gas out or something :D

I'm glad I came across this topic! I am a 26-yr old skinny female working in a quiet office. I am embarrassed DAILY by the noises my stomach makes. I'm horrified to find out what my co-workers really think about me because of this. We have morning meetings every day and all I can focus on in a meeting is how my stomach is feeling at that time. So if I go through a meeting without a sound coming from my stomach, it defines my morning and the rest of the day as a good day. Mostly I'm the one sitting in front of everybody making these absolutely embarrassing, loud stomach sounds. What I do to help eliminate them is I eat 2 bananas 10 minutes before the meeting. However, if our meeting happens later, I can almost never control the sounds! So my "banana treatment" which suppresses hunger and helps my stomach, only works for 30-minutes maximum. So basically I have a 30-minute window in which I can participate in our meeting and be productive and not embarrass myself.
I had blood tests and body waste tests and they didn't find anything in my waste or blood. I take 20 mgs of Omeprazole every morning before the meal prescribed by my doctor. It worked for the first 2 - 3 weeks but it's no longer working. So I'm typing this here today because I just came back from another meeting which went alright and my stomach was quite. We were all about the leave when our boss said "Wait, one more thing...." and those additional 20 seconds in the meeting ruined my day because my stomach made 2 loud sounds. I'm beyond embarrassed, I don't know what to do anymore.
Thanks.

I am glad to see I am not alone. Perhaps I have a solution for some of you, although it's no longer helping me: When my stomach started making loud noises about 20 years ago, my doctor suggested I stop drinking soda, any kind of carbonated beverage. It worked like a charm for me at the time. The stomach noises immediately went away. And any time I slipped up and had a little soda, they'd come right back again, so I knew that was definitely the problem. However, I still never drink soda, yet 20 years later my stomach has started making loud digestion noises again. The only thing that seems to stop it is Gas X. The problem is that for a while 1 Gas X tablet worked, then 2, now I'm up to 4 and I know that's not good. I have a very healthy diet, no junk food, lots of fiber and am very regular. Hopefully the soda solution might help some of you, but are there any other ideas anyone has? I've never had a gluten or lactose problem, and have no other symptoms.

Hey everyone,
I know this is a very old thread, but I have been suffering from this for the last almost three years and I believe I have found the answer. Fructose Malabsorption. After stripping my diet down to a fructose free diet, my symptoms are totally and completely gone! My advice is to look into it. I had the exact same symptoms that the rest of you are describing and now they are gone, providing I don't screw up and eat something I'm not supposed to. Seriously, if anyone is still reading this and looking for answers, I implore you to look into fructose malabsorption. Read everything you can on it. I hope this will help someone.
Best of luck!
