I know exactly how you feel and i'm glad i'm not alone! i'm a teenager too, and i live a healthy lifestyle. It's always on the lower left side of my stomach, and it usually starts sometime after breakfast. Sitting down seems to make it worse. It's so embarassing when i'm in class! i'm afraid to sit by the guy i like because my stomach might start making noises. sometimes i even leave and pretend i'm going to the bathroom until it stops! if anyone has a solution, please let me know, i can't stand it anymore!

Hi everyone! I truly understand what you guys (and me) are going through! I know it is horrible and sometimes I just want to give up my life! :( I am a research student which I have to stay in the office with other students everyday! I can't stop thinking of my stomach and afraid of it making noise anytime! I have tried many different ways, and somehow it helps. I post it here and hope some of you might find it helpful as I think even though we are suffering from same problem but our body reaction might be different.

(1) I first thought that having too much acid causes the problem, and I tried Mylanta Antacid and also Zantac (another antacid). I can say it relieved a bit but not complete, because sometimes my stomach makes sudden noise and I can't control it. (normally, I can feel that the noise is coming or something like that/ and most of the time, I can be able to cover it up by coughing or standing up walk away. But this makes me not be able to concentrate on my work :(). Then I stopped using the Antacid. And one more thing, when I was doing this, I also saw a Nutritionist and applied alkaline diets, this was not really helpful.

(2). I have tried also the Colonfac and Hyoscyamine to decrease the motion of my stomach, but I don't think it helps. Somehow, my stomach acts weird and the noise is once again uncontrolable. Once, after having a few beers, my stomach went all crazy, the noise was like farting sound in my stomach! really horrible even when I was on a noisy running bus. Then I gave up on it.

(3) I gave another try on Metamucil tablets! It works really well, most of the time, my stomach is calm, and it only makes noise when I start to feel hungry. So, I have to eat like 3 times during my stay in my office (breakfast at home (2 tablets), 2 hours later a banana (or apple) and a yogurt and 2 tablets, lunch (2 tablets), 2 hours later snack and if I feel I want metamucil I will take another 2 and I do feel like it take too many. I also eat Freedom Food (which contains psyllium, same as in Metamucil) but sometimes, it gave me too much gas, and I feel bloated.

(4) Recently, I try to combine Metamucil and Activated Charcoal tablets. I apply same as in (3), but with 6-8 charcoal tablets/day. I would say, it is better than Metamucil alone. I have been doing this for about 1 week and a half, so I will keep doing this to see how it goes!

After all, I think my problem has something to do with gas produced during digestion. Maybe I just have too much gas.

As you can see, I have been trying everything I have found on the internet, I hope we can come here and share the ways we control this annoying stomach problem and wish we can find the way to cure this! My life is just so miserable with this and I think I won't be able to live a "normal" life as people out there if I still have it around. I feel antisocial and dare not to go with friends travelling when we stay together in the same room as I am afraid that my stomach will make noise and embarrass me!

I am in Australia now, and these things I found here, I am not sure if you can find them in your place but if you do, why not give them a try to see how it works with your stomach.

Same here. It's been almost exactly one year since my stomach became out of control. Since then I have battled every day with loud stomach noises, gas, and mild pains.

I had eaten cereal just about every morning my entire life and NEVER had stomach problems before this.

I have tried 6 different probiotics, charcoal, Gas X, relaxation techniques, removal of gluten and dairy, an even MORE plain diet than I normally have, and more. The only thing that has given me results is having peppermint oil 30 minutes before a meal. That only masks the symptoms, though.

While my problems might not sound bad, the social repercussions have been severe. I would do just about anything to get rid of this.

Starting in mid February I noticed intestinal noises and could feel the vibrations. Gradually the symptoms increased in the time that they lasted and there was constipation, or at least less stool passed. There was also a feeling in the gut area as a pressure just under the stomach and other uncomfortable, but not painful feelings on one side. Along with this was belching. I started taking Metamucil and it helped the stool to pass, but the noises were still there making it hard to sleep at night. Finally two weeks ago I got a colonoscopy and endoscopy. It showed all was normal in the bowel and stomach. When I got home that afternoon the noises were back. I thought that maybe the preparation for the tests would clean out the intestines of impurities and that maybe the noises would stop. I picked up a bottle of probiotics that the gastro doctor recommended and took one that evening. The next morning I noticed the noises gone and they never came back except for some light noises for a few minuets each day. I have been taking the pills and the belching and constipation is also gone now. I don't know whether the cleansing of the intestines or the probiotics helped the situation.

It is probably because your stomach's flora has too much yeast and not enough probiotics. When yeasts digests sugar, they make co2 gas.  That's why after meals (high sugar contents) the yeasts feasts and make a bunch of gas.  the gas travels around in your stomach making noises.  Basically the yeasts farted lol.  Start taking probiotics see if it helps

Oh my GOSH lyralynx. Just happened to me, not even an hour ago. I have ulcerative colitis and was in PSY, taking a test and as it's dead silent, my stomach just goes right for it for maybe 30 seconds, increasing in loudness and weirdness. My crush was sitting right behind me and a friend of mine looked in my direction and said "what the hell". I totally....just was paralyzed. What else can you do? So embarrasing.

Im in the same boat. Something you may want to try is eating a bread roll instead of an apple (unless you have problems with yeast). The bread will act as a "sponge" inside your stomach soaking up sauce, soda and any other liquids. Through my personal experience this helps kill the noise almost immediately and stays that way until the bread is digested. Good luck to all of us lol

I'm a 15 year old sophomore in high school, I started seing these symptoms my late freshman year, thinking it would go away after the summer sadly it didn't, I have to deal with it in class everyday which is he'll to me, I used to be a school loving a and b student with high hopes of a good scholarship, but now I dread school and i skip a lot to avoid the embarrassment, I went from a and b grades to failing grades and losing my hopes for a good scholarship, I'm only a couple months into the school year and I'm already missing more days then I would in two years of school, I can't find myself brave enough to tell my counselor or even my teachers, not even my bestfriends, I don't know what to do with my life with this stuff and not being able to find a treatment, it's completely ruined my life and my love for school.

Hi I am 17 years old and I am very skinny. In 7th grade I had super bad stomach problems, and issues with pooping. I was put on lactates and that kind of stopped the pain in my stomach for a while. In 10th grade I was diagnosed with Celiac's disease and had to go completely gluten free. In the past year or so I started eating gluten again, and realized that it doesn't hurt my stomach at all anymore, but I have constant rumbling in my stomach, pelvic area, and lower abdomen. I can actually feel things like moving around down in my abdomen and pelvic area. Sometimes I mistake the rumbling and growls down there as my phone vibrating. In school my stomach can get really loud in quiet places, but it doesn't really bother me because I will just point it out myself like, "Oh my gosh my stomach is so loud!" or something like that. I take probiotics and that helps a lot with digestion, and I found that its also really helpful to eat yogurt. I'm really afraid of what is actually wrong down in my stomach because with all the symptoms I'm having (I didn't even mention most of them) it doesn't seem like I'm very healthy.

Hi,
I have H pylori and every day my stomach makes some noises! it starts rumbling and then makes loud whining noises and I eat something (usually in the late evening). I will try to see if sugar is the problem because I noticed I eat at least one banana everyday. How about for potatoes or rice? Are you okay with those?
