I've been having the burning issues during intercourse for the last 6 months. I am on Yasmin too, however I've been on it for about 9 years so iIm not sure why I haven't experienced this pain until recently.

I have the same problem. It started as a few episodes of thrush but now it's changed and thrush treatment doesn't work anymore. I get itchy down there, it burns to use tampons or have sex (even if I'm wet it feels too dry inside me :S) and it gets so uncomfortable I wake up in the middle of night and start crying. I've been to numerous doctors but they haven't helped me. BUT I've found out that it gets much better when I eat a lot of bio-live yoghurt (I usually buy Yeovalley) and I also drink lots of cranberry juice. I've bought some acidophilus tablets so hopefully they'll help. I think it's something in my diet but try live yoghurt and see if it helps! (Hasn't completely cured me tho but definitely improved my condition!)

I have this often so I decided to look up what could be causing it. Well you can bv or any other common female problem. But it could also be that you are allergic to your husbands/boyfriend/partners sperm. Sounds crazy but it real.

I went to a clinic to get checked for sti's. They said it was just a fungal infection and gave me a pessary and cream. The symptoms are still there but have got a lot better and at least now I know what it is!

HI EVRYONE!!!

I TOO SUFFER FROM ALL OF THE ABOVE. I WENT TO MY OBGYN AND  SHE SENT ME TO A SPECIALIST WHO DIAGNOSED ME WITH VULVODYNIA!!! HE GAVE ME A CREAM WHICH DID NOT HELP AND THAT WAS THAT. HOWEVER I SAW AN AD IN THE PAPER A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER AND IT SAID THAT IF YOU SUFFER FROM VULVODYNIA WE CAN HELP, CAL THIS AND THIS NUMBER. I FIGURED LET ME GIVE IT A SHOT.... SO TO MY SURPRISE I WAS SET UP WITH A PHYSICAL THERAPIST!!! SHE IS NOT JUST ANY THERAPIS BUT SHE DEALS WITH THE PELVIC FLOOR AREA.. ALL OF YOU SHOULD GO TO A PT!!  WEIRED BUT IT REALLY HELPS!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND IF THE PARTICULAR PT YOU GO TO DOESNT HELP, THEN GO ELSEWHERE BECAUSE THIS IS THE SOLUTION TO OUR PROBLEMS!!!

I, too have Vulvodynia, same symptoms as all of you, terrible burning at the opening.  Even had some surgeries to open up the area, Botox injection which really didn't help, to try to relax a tense area.  Am old enough, now, it doesn't matter as much, but I feel for everyone who has suffered with this for so long; I have for over 20 years.  Good suggestion about the PT.  Hope it helps some of you.  Any ideas as to a general number which might give referrals in various areas? I suppose the National Vulv. Association could help.  Good luck, everyone.  Really does change your life in some ways and makes one vulnerable to men's "control" and anger.  I've just been grateful it doesn't burn all the time.  Could be worse.

I have the same problem, however one difference: my partner can feel the burning too. It seems to come in cycles too. It lasts about two weeks of my cycle. The only time we can be guaranteed to have pain free intercourse is during my menstruation. During the rest of the time I sometimes develop fissures at the opening of my vagina, as well as ulcers like cancer sores. Intercourse is wildly painful and my partner's penis becomes irritated. All my other symptoms are the same as those described here. Monogamous 3 year relationship, plenty of lube, no STD or infections, plenty of love and passion, not too frequent (are you kidding me?), All positions effected, etc. Makes both us us feel like failures. I feel really bad. It seems no one has any suggestions except kegels and gabapentin. Gabapentin is for neuropathic pain, which would help for vagidynia but I doubt my partner would be effected by my neuropathic experience. And I'm doing kegels right now on a hope and a prayer.

My burning/stinging sensations started about Saturday and ended in Monday. I was in the middle of intercourse and suddenly i felt a sharp pain/burn in the skin of my vagina. It was only my first time though. I tried to see if it was just something little and so I tried again today. The burn/pain came back and the same way. I hope to figure something out soon with both of our problems.

I wish I had an answer for you. I know that after getting a trich. infection at the age of 27, it's burned ever since. Now I'm 57. I did use Lidocaine for a number of years until I just gave up. I hope you can get some relief. I'm assuming Vulvodynia in my case, of some sort. You are not alone, for what it is worth. Luckily we have other methods but I know it's not as satisfying as vag. Love to you and to all who suffer from this.

I've been suffering from a burning sensation during sex for about 3 years. I've been to multiple doctors and none were able to help as I do not have any STI's, am in a stable healthy relationship, have no allergies to Lube or Latex, and my PH level always been fine. I was on Yasmin Birth Control and suffered from a string of UTI's during the beginning of my relationship. During the period in which I suffered from UTI's, I felt sensitive during intercourse because of my urinary tract, and I tensed anytime it was touched during sex or foreplay.

Every time I've been to a doctor they've asked me about my relationship in order to determine whether it was healthy, or whether I was tensing up during intimacy, which can lead to Vaginismus. Vaginismus is muscle tensing of the vagina, but it can also cause a burning pain, so despite the fact that I'd loosen up prior to intercourse and use plenty of Lube, I still felt that burning pain.

So I've now drawn the conclusion that I possibly may have developed Vaginismus, and not because of an unhealthy relationship and my aversion to intimacy with my partner, but because of the UTI's I've had and how sensitive I was to touch during that time. Because I feared that pain, and tensed, I conditioned myself to become apprehensive about sex, and thus causing Vaginismus, which can cause burning. I always assumed I tensed up because of the pain, but if this started because of my UTI's, I may have been tensing the muscles well before the burning started.
