I too am going through this now and it is very scary with all of the cramping. I almost feel as if I am in labor but they say everything is fine. I guess only they know
I know how everyone feels. This is our first baby and i am trying to do everything right, Last night I was up most of the night with very stong cramps, Thier is no bleeding, however the pain is horrible I am so scarred and dont know what to do, I dont want to tell my husband becuase i dont want to worrie him if its nothing. Reading the other post really helps, I just hope everything works out for everyone. And I hope these cramps go away soon.
I too am about 7 weeks pregnant and last Friday started bleeding and cramping. I have one daughter so i know what a "normal" pregnancy is like and i have had 2 miscarriages - both at 3 weeks. I thought I was miscarrying again. When i saw my doctor 5 days later he said since my bleeding was not as strong and the clots were not as big - i could still be pregnant. I went for blood work and an ultrasound and everything came back positive. I am still pregnant. The bleeding and cramping have continued throughout the weekend - getting a little heavier and more clots - all still the size of a quarter - i have an appointment today with my doctor to discuss in detail the results of my tests. He did mention though that this type of bleeding could result from miscarrying a twin. One miscarries and one stays implanted and healthy. I don;t know how this can be confirmed - this is one thing i want to bring up today. I know how frustrating it is - the constant pain and bleeding is awful. However try to stay positive as your baby needs it. That's what i keep telling myself too. Good luck.
I have had allot of what you ladies have been experiancing, bleeding and cramping, i was told when i had a scan at 7 weeks i would ahev some bleeding as it was surounding the sac. this came away at the start of the week and as you can imagine, i was a wreak!
i managed to get in and get an ultrasound the day after (wasn't impressed that it wasn't the same day as i was beside myself with worry) anyway it got worse durning the evening so got admitted to another hospital via my gp (who was very understanding) the scan showed a healthy heartbeat and kicking baby. i am now 10 weeks + and started with brown discharge again after my scan on tuesday i'm not so worried as i was told that i may have some more bleeding as there was still some (very small amount 4mm next to the sac). i am assuming that it is what this is, although i know that if it gets worse i can call the hospital up and get them to put my mind at rest and if needs be get in for another scan.
if you have any problems i would ring your midwife, see your gp or go into hospital and get an ultrasound!
xx

:-D Hi Ladies, I know how you all feel. I am 35 and suffered a miscarriage Sept 07 and it broke my heart, I had the brown spotting all the way through until I miscarried and I never thought I would recover. Then in Feb of 08 we decided to try again and got pregnant in April. I'm now 14 weeks 5 days and a week and a half ago I went swimming and had this really heavy bleed when I got home from the pool, I was trying to get some neonatal exercise but felt a pain in my belly button. The blood was red and gushing and this time I just didn't panic, I just felt so calm, I knew my baby was okay but I knew I had to go to the hospital. They did a scan and my baby was kicking about and punching my tummy, I was so happy and the Midwife at the hospital said this to me and I hope it helps anyone who reads it. ;When your pregnant your insides turn to mush to make way for the baby to grow, your heart beats faster so your producing more blood and your blood vessels are pumped full of blood, all it takes is a slight knock by lifting something, bending, or in my case trying to be a dolphin under water can burst a vessel in your cervix or vaginal and you will bleed' but you must remember this also, no pain and black blood or brown blood, stringy or not is GOOD!!! some women just have bleeds and it is usually a sign of high hormone levels which is good for fertility too but they never really know why but if it's black or brown it's a good sign. Now I have had this black stuff for well over a week and some days it's hardly there and some days it is, but I have found that if I just put my feet up and only move to go to the toilet (my husband has been fantastic) I don't bleed at all. So please don't worry, some women bleed because they would have been due for a period at that time, or would have been ovulating but please remember to take it easy, we may feel on top of the world but we are just mushy vein engorged blood vessels with precious cargo inside that need us so take it easy. Also don't be afraid if you get lower tummy pain and back pain at the same time, that is just your uterus making way for the baby to get bigger. It is softening your ligaments so your baby can grow fast and easier.
Hi paule, I came across this post searching for answers about my own pregnancy. I too have been having brown bleeding, for 14 days now, very light and only when I wipe (I'm 6 weeks pregnant and had one ultrasound so far, another to follow. First showed a heart rate of 110). Today I had some clots in it- maybe about the size of a bean. I know this post is pretty old, but I was just wondering how your pregnancy ended up. I know it's a longshot you will respond, but reassurance would be wonderful!
Hi I'm 29 years old and i am 13 weeks pregnant & for the past 12 days i have been bleeding it started out light pink now it is red with black clots i did not bleed at all 2 days ago & about 11p.m. the bleeding started again it started after i ate that & walking seem to triggre the blood i have not bleed all day today but an hour ago i started to bleed a little now I'm not bleeding at all now i have been to the hospital 3 times had 3 ultrasounds & the baby is fine what's going on?
I am 40 years old and this is my 6th pregnancy i had an 8 month stillborn and two miscarriages i am experiencing cramps and some spotting i am only 51/2 weeks so it is too early to detect life. The sac was still detected on an ultrasound and my hcgs are going up drastically. My doctor said i probably passed this. She said my hcgs were too high for my gestational age of pregnancy. Couldnt this mean twins? I was told that after age 35 your chances increase and with identical twins there is only one sac unlike fraternal needing two. I am not bleeding anymore but still crampy. Should i just write this off or keep praying? I am too old for this . What are your suggestions i can do to prevent early misscarriages or herbs i can take.

I am 32 years old having my 4th child. Unfortunately, the doctors don't know how far I am but I'm guessing 5 weeks because there is no heartbeat yet, not that they checked for it but I don't see the chambers on the ultrasound either. My last period was July 6th. I took 3 pregnancy tests every other day after I didn't get a period by August 6th. By August 18th, the test revealed a positive mark! Yahoo! The first ultrasound didn't show nothing more than a mass indicating my pregnancy occurred 2-3 weeks prior. So instead of being 6-8 weeks pregnant, I was something else! The next week I had another ultrasound and the yoke was visible with a tiny smudge giving me a reason to be happy it was a visible IUP! I have never bled after the initial missed period indicating I'm pregnant with my previous pregnancies. However, this 4th time around I have been bleeding for 2 weeks now. First it was peach and gradually became bright red along with passing deep red clots the size of starburst candy. I've had two ultrasounds this week showing the baby in the sac and my cervix also still intact. They have no idea where the bleeding is coming from and just yesterday I had cramping up until this moment. In following the doctors orders 2 weeks ago, I have been taking it easy-no sex, no heavy lifting, no stairclimbing, no exercise and no stress but the bleeding persists and every time it graduates to something else like dripping into the toilet and the clotting. I've been wearing pads, too! :( I can only pray to God that I'm not losing this child. The worst thing for me is going from telling the children I'm pregnant and seeing their happiness radiate the room to possibly having to explain the baby went to heaven instead.
I simply wanted to share what i'm going through right now. Insight and gentle words would be sweet in an effort to keeping my hopes up.

I am 6 weeks pregnant and am experiencing the exact same thing (coincidentally, I am also 30 and having my first child). I was wondering if you found out what caused your bleeding and clotting. My Doctor hasn't been able to give me an explanation and it is really worrisome to me. Any info. you found would be helpful.
Thanks a bunch.
What kind of bleeding is it? If it is bright red blood with cramps, and low back pain, there is a possibility that you miscarried. The clots are even bigger indicators, which means that you have expelled the lining of the uterus and parts of the fetus as well.
Now, don’t get alarmed now becasu ejust like someone said it could be just your old blood getting expelled from your insides as they are expending and the cramping may be present for the same expending reason.
The smartest thing to do is make an appointment with your gynecologist as soon as possible and have that checked out.

I am 23 and 8 weeks pregnant. Last night I noticed some light brown discharge or blood when i wiped. I immediately panicked and called tele-care. they went over everything with me and siad that they weren't concerned at this time and to cal back if it still happened. Today there is still brown,( maybe mose of it) but not enough that i'd have to use a pad.
Is this normal? my husband and I are a little concerned.
