After tests at the hospital I was diagnosed with psoriasis and have had the same symptoms with bleeding fingers and feet. I sometime get scaly rosy patches on my body too. My prescription creams work very well for me. Best to see a doctor and have the tests.

ufff, I know how painful and frustrating this problem could be, I suffered from it for a long time. My advice, please consult with a doc to see if it's not a medical condition like psoriasis or eczema etc. If it's not, then I recommend a balm, it has literally saved my hands, my cuticles used to be so painfully chipped, and cracked finger tips but got rid of these issues after using this balm for couple of weeks. it is also very water resistant so no need to reapply every time you wash your hands.

I have had the at the deep cracks and thick, peeling skin on my feet and sometimes hands for 20 years now. Mine is related to food sensitivities especially corn. Food sensitivities are similar to allergies but they don't show up on the normal allergy test. The test I had done was called MRT Leap test and it showed that I had many, many food sensitivities. The test is rather expensive or it used to be anyway , so you could try keeping a journal of what you're eating and try to see if you notice the cracking coming especially after one particular food, but it probably would be best to do the elimination diet where you eliminate one thing at a time. I rarely have trouble with it anymore and it used to be constant. When I do have trouble it's because I have gotten some corn in my diet which is hard not to because corn is in everything -- corn syrup, and somethings you wouldn't think of (dextrins, etc.). Also corn syrup is in wine (especially domestics) and it's not listed on the label and unbelievably doesn't have to be! – it's a cheap way to help with fermentation - cheaper than sugar. God bless everyone with this situation - know how painful and distressing it is -- hope this helps someone.

I have read a bunch of these comments, I have not once read anything about your eating, drinking habits, If it were me I would research deeply into the naturopathic remedies #1 start with a colon cleanse, research 'Death Begins in the Colon' Most diseases begin in the colon. The body is not getting something it needs. so it responds with a dis-ease. Lots of clean water, fresh fruits and organic veggies, if you did a little research you would be Amazed at how many bad chemicals you are eating on a regular basis. I have seen many diseases come to an end just by doing an inner cleanse on a regular basis (2X a year) and changing your diet and reducing stress. Good luck....

I put Bag Balm, the real thing which I purchase at Thrashers. It has an antiseptic and Vaseline type consistency. At night, I soak a cloth and put that on my hands, then put my hands in disposable poly gloves I purchase at the Dollar Store. This helps tremendously. Good Luck

I've been trying this for the past three days. It does seem to clear up the cuts and it does hurt like crazy and makes my hands very sensitive so I have to put the Gold Bond on immediately after so I don't scratch.

Responding to all the posts re. Dry, cracked and bleeding hands. My wife has been dealing with this for years. She too tried all the otc creams with little results.

She finally discovered a book titled Optimal Digestive Health and began taking digestive enzymes, probiotics, betaine HCL and Candex.
Her hands are much better now, but she still has to take all the above daily or her hands explode.

I appreciate your remarks. I have Mentholatum and Bagbalm which I will try, along with a cotton glove to use as protection. Thanks.

Had the same problem I found it is something to do with the ingredients found in liquid soap. Shampoo, body wash. Started using solid soap and the problem went away.
