Dark orange mucus coming out of the nose

This is the same thing that's going on with me. I'm going to try the kettle thing to irrigate with saline then I'm going to go to a health food store and buy some ear candles and lastly I'm going to gargle really well and get the tonsil stones out. I think this will do the trick did u have to have antibiotics?

Also I've got pain and sensitivity behind the eye sockets, on a tooth that needs finished crowning, up my right nostril to that socket, up to the top of my head. The first time it was watery and ear wax colored dark orange almost brown, but I got up and blower my nose really long hard blow and a big wad of orange and clear snot with blood all in it was what came out, i googles it and the other health site said a worse case cinareo of a sinus infection there is only a thin sheet of bone separating the sinus cavity and the brain and said that if it gets to brains barrier youll get menengitis and ur brain will swell and if it gets past that barrier it will infect ur brain and could result in death, or if the sinus cavity in the eye socket gets infected enough u could go blind in that eye. If the saline thing don't do it then I'm gettin a couple round of Cipro!!!!!!!

I've got a weird coincidence 4 ya with mine, coincidently I had a short visit with my 1st cousin to c her new baby and the boyfriend was smoking in the house.....I dont smoke either so there's an obvious irritant, I think the other guys right, now that I c I'm not the only orange runner that was around cigarette smoke the day of the strang occurance.....i too now think it's the body ridding itself of impurities irritants and backed up junk from old infections to clear nasal passages,good 2 know this really freaked me out, as it was only pouring out my right nostri...still I will follow all other sinus infection treatments cause worse case cinareo of that is meningitis and death

Instead of saline solution up your nose try cayenne pepper tea.  You will feel like you are dying and it hurts like heck but nothing works faster.

I have this right now but no other symptoms. I have anxiety and have constant head aches but aside from what is normal for me, I have this red/orange/dark yellow watery discharge from my nose. I haven't had a cold, sore throat or ear aches. I don't even have sinus pain...

Everything I've seen has pointed toward Sinus infection but again, I have no other symptoms.

 

Well, this year I could overcome it without the usual pain, but I also ate huge amounts of spicy foods, I've never before had so much capsaicin in my life :D

But believe me, anxiety and headache is a common occurence with any reasonably strong infection.

It could be something else, but even with other ilnesses and injuries, infections play a major role in the complications and symptoms.

Importantly: lot of vitamins (1g vit. C per 1.5L of tea) in lots of fluids and lot of heat for quite some time. Some of these little critters are extremely versatile. They change the strategy every time there is major threat to them. Carefully use some nasal spray with xylometazoline (like Otrivin Complete), it will stop the leak from the nose. Do not use much and do not let it under any circumstances get into your stomach. Take care to spit it out.... other things as I have said above.

Me and my boyfriend of 27 years have had severe sinus infections.One time I had one so bad I had a fever for 3 days.Went to the doc,no help.My daughter heard on a radio people were taking oregano oil,take it in a soft gel.Any way,OMG,second night,I woke up.My nose was so clear,I could breath so well. My sinus opened up so far back behind my nose by my eye,I didn't know it was even plugged that far back. It took care of the infection.Take it for 30 days.Then, if you want take olive leaf extract 30 days. read up on the both of them.I always try to go natural. Good luck.

im going through c**p right now. for the past four days ive had sinus problems which include runny nose and eyes n head hurting. then yesterday I noticed my cheek was swollen. so I immediately took some antibiotics I had. well this morning I blow my nose and had a weird orange mucus come out. just did my morning nose blow and out came a glob of this weird orange mucus. so im freaked out bc im 27 and never had Orange mucus. now im sick and have an abscess. I think the abscess popped up bc of my sinuses acting up. but im a mother of two and cant get out of bed without feeling dizzy and eyes killing me. hopefully my antibiotics work. goodluck to all the people out there who have insurance. im broke n can't afford it.

the orange is from the ears draining... notice how much orange there is when you clean your ears? it's draining through your sinuses after illness...

I had the same problem it turned out I had a sinus infection but not the normal kind I had a staph sinus infection. Regular antibiotics will not treat this and potentially make it worse. They put me on cipro

So I have the same biright orange gunk coming out of my nose with small blobs of red which I think must be blood. I have had sinus infections in the past, but nothing like this. It was definately a contageous infection because I had seen my sick nephew on Xmas day and literally the next morning I was down like someone had hit me over the head. Thought it was a nasty cold.

Sinus infections usually come on a bit slower. I agree with the previous post about a staph infection. My doctor seemed pretty shocked about the neon orange mucus himself and he gave me a zpak of Azithromycin. I am a week in with this infection and started the zpak yesterday. The orange went away for one day and the mucus turned an amber color, but in the mornings when I use my nasal irrigator I still get the orange stuff, yet not quite as copius as before.

I rarely use antibiotics since I like to use natural remedies so when I do take them they usually work really well for me. If it does not clear up with this zpak then I would say it is a good chance it is some kind of staph strain that is breaking down the membranes in the nose. 

Btw unlike some of the other posts the mucus is thick and bright orange. Very dark yellow or amber color is not the same. M

I will try to get back to you all since no one really knows what this is. I saw this same think happen when MRSA was first discovered. Lots of confusion aobut what it was for awhile.
