Yes, just days before a blood clot went to my heart. You really need to see a doctor right away to be safe.

It seems like every month I get the same thing. Ear aches, sore throat, jaw pain, trouble swallowing and eating, and a salty discharge in my throat. I'll get it for a week, then it's gone until next month. I've gone to the hospital, but they tell me i'm fine. i don't know what to do.

That's called a blood clot in your carotid and you probably had a stroke. Wonder if this person is still alive??

ok so I'm a child you see, my throat feels like its swelling up and I can hardly breath through my mouth at all (but I can breathe through my nose just fine) I legit cant swallow a thing- it feels like I'm swallowing shards of flaming glass..... my glands are swollen and my tounge feels barbaric- like I cant move it and I have horrendous pains on both sides and torwards the back.... I can talk fine(ish) but I cant talk a tone and I cant talk really loud. now my mother is a nurse and I had her look at my throat- she said "i see nothing, no swelling, no rednis, nothing tough it out....." - gee thanks mom... well she did say drink cold water hot water, tea hot coco, but I did already- and it hurt a gazillion times worse each time....I can baraly eat. she said she will call our pediatrician but its memorial day weekend and there closed Saturday sunday and Monday.... and I cant wait another day... now a lot of you are smokers on this page who have theses symptoms- well I don't smoke but I have had second hand smoking back when I was like 9 (I don't think it matters now)- others say take amoxicilan or get a penicillin shot- I'm allergic to those both...... what do I do

Mono is mainly a fatigue like disease with minor pains...my sister had it and it's nothing like your describing. It could be caused from teeth pain or sinuses or other

I am going to see my doctor for this today. My Mom is a nurse and she has had thyroid issues her whole life. She said this same thing happened to her years ago and my grandmother when she was about my age. It is subacute thyroiditis. Have your doctor run all the tests for this. Look it up and review the symptoms. Everything that I have been experiencing and it just eventually goes away on its own, but you ally lasts a few months. Good luck to everyone. I hope this helps!

I would love to know if you have had any relief or been given a diagnosis?

For approx 8 weeks now I have been on ibuprofen. My dentist believes me to have TMD & my doc thinks there is something with my neck.

It doesn't seem to have a trigger area. I feel pain in my jaw bone. My teeth then get very sensitive, my mouth feels like it swells but it doesn't look it. The pain then travels to my ear, down my neck, up over the right hand side of my skull and down my throat the right side around my collar bone...

I am literally at the end of my tether... I need to know what causes it so I can fix it. I'very got a pretty good pain threshold but when it goes on for weeks it wears you down. I did have a swollen lymph node under my ear beside the jaw bone. The antibiotics sorted that out but now I have a swollen lymph node under my arm...

My dentist didn't take an x-ray & the doc also didn't suggest this... I need to know what is going on in there....

I had the exact same symptoms except the smoking part. After numerous trips to my gp I have been told that my ear and glands a fine its just an infection in the tubes between my throat and my ear. I am on my second round of antibiotics and feel loads better. I've been taking amoxacilin 3 times a day and taking 800mg ibuprofen 3 times a day. I have found taking the ibuprofen with hot drinks to help it more than taking with water! Hope everyone else feels better!
