Hello, Im a male 29yrs old. I too have been experiencing similar symptoms. I had a inguinal hernia repaired approximately 8-9 years ago. I had no symptoms up until about 6 months ago. It started out as pain in my lower left abdomen that would wake me up early in the morning and tended to slowly move towards the middle of my lower abdomen. Putting a pillow between my legs was the only thing that would alleviate the pain or getting out of bed and walking around. The pain would then usually subside during rest. I also experienced alot of discomfort while running. The harder and faster I ran the more painful it was. I am very active so I just related it to regular wear and tear. My doctor told me that it was a possible tear in my abdomen and that rest and gradual rehabbing of the area would help. Over the past 3-4 months the symptoms have gone from very mild to nothing at all and then back to alot of discomfort. Im just wondering if this may have more to do with my gastrointestinal tract then my abdominal muscles. Any other info would help. Thanks
"I am middle aged male. I have been experiencing deep lower left intermitent groin pain also.
With this pain I am experiencing a feeling of bloating(although physically not bloated) and a band of pain along my lower stomach area.
I lift heavy weighs and jog regularly. I thought the pain was sports related also.
I find that I cannot drink a full cup of tea or eat as much as usual.I have visited my doctor no luck he says could be IBS or colon spasm.
He subscribed Buscopan & Nurofen and neither work.He did not send me for any tests and does not seem concerned. these symptoms may not be the same as yours but either way it is worrying. I am middle aged male. I have been experiencing deep lower left intermitent groin pain also.

I am 30 years old, I have had the same symptoms and have gone in for ultrasound test. Nothing evident has been noticed by the technisian. I'm just awaiting a call from the doctors office to go over the test with me and let me know what my options are. I am worried still just to find out what he tells me. Reading all of these post have eased my mind just a little for the same symptoms i have been having are the same ones that have been posted by many of you. I also can feel a discomfort while sitting down and dissappears when i stand up or even run. I just want to be able to know for sure what the problem is.
When we all have this symtom, include your weight and lifestyles, as they may be very important, so we all can figure this out.
I am also having the exact left groin pain to left testicle area pain that has been with me for months. I am 42 years old and have been active in sports and sexuallly all my life at 6'1" 200lbs. I have chewed tobacco for nearly 30 years of my life but not everyday and skip out for months at a time.I have had plenty of stress my whole career. My sexual desire has diminished and circulation has diminished as well. When I sit at work and lay stomach down to sleep I have the most aching "Like someone has punched me in the balls, but not that bad. I went to the docotors and did all the blood work. Recently A urologist had me get my testosterone checks and I found out I was at 285. this was very low and my body was not producing enough testosterone. The average levels should be at least 350-1000. I was put on a patch called Anderoderm at 5mg a 24 hr period. I have noticed dramatic results and do not have the aches ( can feel aches very slightly to none), but have only been on Androderm for 5 days now and hopefully only on it for a few months until my body adapts and starts producing it on its own at normal levels again. Hopefully this helps anyone out and is a start to this bull.

after weeks of trying out different medication prescribed by doctors, all they did was provide temporary relief.. im a 22 year old air force reservist and a supply distributor for a meat packing plat, thus i do a lot of havy lifting regularly. i visited 4 doctors and practitioners who told me similar causes for this butit pretty much camedown to the same thing.. diet and sleep... i thought it may have been an enlrged spleen or an obstruction in my colon, its actually muscle tissue adapting to whatever diet u have. for 3 weeks now ive been drinking and eatin lots of food and drink high in fiber and the pain is gone... i sleep 7 to 9 hours a night as opposed to the 4 to 6 hours i used to get and i couldnt feel better. specifically, i drink 3 to 4 bottles of naked juice, costly but very nutritious, and 2 bowls of fiber one cereal. throughout the day ill ea small portions of meat and plenty of carbs. turkey meat, chicken, fish, and other seafood significantly improve ur diestive tracts when eaten properly. not to mention cutting health risks avoided by not eating too much red meat.. ill have a occasional rib eye nothing major. a bugvr wont hurt every now and then.. but with proper diet and plenty of sleep itll go away permanently.
I am a 37 year old female with the exact problems...after having a bunch of tests done at the doctor, I realized that since I lost my job I had been sitting up instead of lying down on the couch, and sitting up for many hours. I think it caused a bad strain. I have been trying to go back to lying down when on the couch and it has really helped so far!

Sounds like you guys suffer from a bladder infection. This is common but goes unseen by doctors. The good news is it's cured in a short amount of time. THE CURE! First start drinking water, this means no more caffenee, none, nadda, zip, zero. Caffenee will continue the infection even if your drinking water, so stop. Go to the store and buy 450mg cranberry pills, take two in the morning and two when you go to bed. Drink a full 8oz glass of water each time you take the pills. Remember to drink water during the day. You will notice the color of your urine will be yellow to dark yellow in the beginning but wil start to lighten up. Once you see light yellow to almost clear and there is no more discomfort you know the problem is solved. Depending on how bad the infection, is how long it will take to cure. 2 days to a week.
i have narrowed mine down to the left testicle. Any thoughts?
i found the answer! for me anyway i had the exact same symptoms as bobby_dazzler and didn't know what it was and was very afraid of misdiagnosis (and medication). luckily, i found a great doctor through a referral and she pinpointed it for me.
basically, it's gas. i had a hernia operation when i was 9 months old and this caused some adhesion to occur in my lower left abdomen. my whole life i've had excess gas but it worsened a month ago when i arrived in a subtropical country. the combination of pollution here and the humidity caused me to breathe more through my mouth than my nose which means i'm swallowing more air than usual. i'd also developed a years-long habit of drinking soda water/seltzer water regularly as a way to settle my stomach but i stopped drinking since i arrived here because it is not as widely available in this country. so this combination of factors has caused the gas to build up in my lower left abdomen (where the adhesion occurs). it makes sense that it is worse when lying down since gas doesn't pass as well that way.
so, for all of you out there suddenly experiencing this, consider whether it is gas and whether there are factors in your life that have changed (humidity, air quality, not enough perrier) that might be causing it.
whew, i'm relieved. i thought i was going to die.

I had similar symptoms and had intense pain for a day or two and finally after consultation with the doctor, found the reason to be nerve pain resulting from back strain! Simple back stretching exercises relieved the pain. Hope that helps
ONe thing some of you might want to ask your Dr. about if your male is epiditimitis if thats how it is spelled. I have this happen on my right side which is actuall uncommon almost ever 2 years or so. Its an infection of the tubes behind the testicles that normally is seen in bicycle riders as well as people who get an STD.
For me...I am far from either but I have the propensity my Dr. said to get it. Pain usually starts in my groin area as soreness...then migrates into my abdomen and hip area. Last for weeks. Ice and actually wearing a jock strap to keep the testicles elevated is the only cure.
Just one thing to ask about.
I belive it is epididymitis!
i too have a similar problem. got a scan done but the doctors can't diagnose it i guess.
