I have the pressure across the lower abdomin and it gets worse if I eat or drink fluids. The doctors have given me all types of scans from both ends of the body.and still can not explain the problem

I have a stinging pain in my lower left abdomen almost to the left of my belly button for over a year many times it worst in the night and on a few occasions when lying on the side of the pain I feel something is about to burst out of my belly LOL I’m not an alien or anything.

-I don’t think I have a hernia as I have no visible signs.

-did all kinds of X-ray of my lower abdomen, no negative findings.

-Endoscopy: had one ulcer and Dr. said this could cause the pain in my lower abdomen and he treated me with acid reducing tablets with no avail. I also changed by diet to exclude acids containing foods (change of diet did make a slight difference in pain relief) overall no progress.

-Colonoscopy: everything is normal Dr. Think I have irritable bowel disease although I do not use the bathroom after every meal as you would imagine but said irritable bowel disease effect everyone differently although I do not exhibit the popular systems – I have changed my died to exclude dairy for the first couple of days this seem to have helped me somewhat but the pain came back not so severe though also all my blood work came pack good, no chromes disease or any other diseases my doctor had tested for.

Man this is such a nuisance as I have done all kinds of test with little to no help on my pain if anything else comes my way in pain relief I’ll repost.

Hello,
I have been slightly feeling some relief, changed my diet twice and feel that this is helping me will explain…
I have never been lactose intolerant I grew up on milk and have enjoyed all kinds of food with milk as an ingredient and still consider myself not lactose intolerant. This is what my Dr. explained there are I believe 4 different kind of symptoms associated with being lactose intolerant…well we all know the primary symptom come to find out, one symptom is pain in the large intestine right on your lower left abdomen area - my pain was very sever before I stop all dairy intake I do sometimes get the same pain but much less occurrences and severity, I also eat in smaller portion which seems to be helping me.
So the outcome: some relief from just by changing my diet. O I’m also taking an acid reducer.
I have another check up in a month and will update shortly…

I am 28 years old. having the same symptoms pain in my lower left abdomen. it is slightly pain not much, but it is discomfort.

But i found a way to cure it. if the pain is attacking Just drink two (2) Glasses of water and sit in a proper position. wait for about 2 minutes or until the pain is gone. it works for me.

The cause of lower left abdominal pain is "Eating too much." Especially in the evening. Dont eat too much. And dont drink a lot of water in the evening. This works for me. im not a doctor but it works.

I have been experiencing lower left abdomen pain for about two months now.  At first I was evaluated by a urologist, and no problems were found, two weeks ago visited a  gastroenterologist  who had me undergo abdominal ultrasound and various stool tests to rule out inflammation of the colon and bacterial infection. The tests came back negative, and aside from slightly fat liver, the ultrasound was also normal. The pain has become worse though, especially if I lie on my stomach. I am going to contact the gastroenterologist again to see if any additional imaging need to be done (MRI or CT etc).

you all may have diverticulitis. I have it. It is a permanent and chronic disease. Get to your doctor and tell them to check you for it. I lost a foot of my colon before I knew what was wrong.  The only thing that saved my life was the doctors at the VA hospital.

It's a very serious disease if it's not managed and treated.

update: the MRI came back negative. They could not find anything wrong with my internal organs. The doctor suggested seeing a sports injury specialist as this might be a micro tear in the abdominal wall muscles or the tendons.

THE SOLUTION FOR THE LOWER ABDOMINAL PAIN:

1. YOUR UNDERWEAR IS TOO TIGHT (Try to sleep in the evening without underwear)

2. DON'T EAT TOO MUCH. (Especially in the evening)

3. DRINK A LOT OF WATER. 8-12 glasses a day. (But less in the evening.)

4. MAKE SOME STRETCHING IN THE MORNING. (Jogging or Running or Walking at least 30 minutes or more.)

IF THE ABOVE SOLUTION DOES NOT WORK. THE "SIT-UP" EXERCISE IS THE BEST FOR YOU. (20 sit up a day)

As from a previous post by a previous user it could be diverticulitis but in my case I have done a colonoscopy, lower abdomen x-rays and even a lower GI series study nothing to point in the direction of diverticulitis – after changing my diet to exclude milt and eat in smaller portion the pain has greatly eased I do here and there still get the lower abdomen pain but a lesser hurt. I’m still looking for an answer as I feel that I have done the entire medical test possible for lower abdomen and still no permanent relief what a bummer…

I have tried so many doctors and I have gone through all the medical situations you have described but up to date I have not find anything which can help me. Lucky you you had some pain killers which worked for you. as for me nothing has worked even now Iam still in that pain. Should you find something please my brother help.

Hi

You should read up on Maignes syndrome, this is related to nerve running from back to groin area.

Also another area to consider is diverticulitis. Hope this helps.
