Hi, I am 29 years old, and I have been gaining weight like crazy! First Let me tell you that I have been married for over 6 yrs and that I have always been classified by my husband and family doctor and my OBGYN as "underweight" but that was just the way I always was so I was never concerned. But now... in a period of just two months I have become a GIANT JELLY ROLL! I am super bloated, I have back pain and worse of all is the fatigue. It is so bad I went to doctor and they discovered from a blood test that I was severly anemic (which was good to find out) and now I am on a prescription for it but it hasn't helped, it has just made me more constipated. Then my doctor said that It was because of depression... I'm thinking, "If you gained over 15 Lbs.,have zero energy, and all your clothes don't fit, wouldn't you be depressed?" So anyways, I have done everything I can think of when It comes to dieting and nutrition with no improvements and I'm thinking this makes no sense I should be feeling better. So in my research I did come across this one really good web site that talkes about bloating, fatigue, weight gain, and almost every symptom I have! It's for intestinal cleansing and I seriously think is worth a try so i ordered it and I am just waiting to recieve it. The testimonials and info on the website are amazing. I am willing to try anything to get healthy and this is all natural, and I feel desperate to get better. But what was so interesting was that almost all the people had similar or the exact same problems to what I have and it makes sense to me so seriously check it out and tell me what you think!
I have also gained twenty lbs within a week or to about two months ago. I am 5'8" and was 115 lbs. Now I weigh 135 lbs. This should be a good thing. I have tried to gain weight for the last 8+ years and have unable to do so. It just doesn't seem natural. All the weight has gone to my abdomin. I can't fit in any of my pants. I have taken two pregnancy tests and both have been negative. Besides that I had my period about 27 days ago. My stomach doesn't fit my body and the weight gain has made me tired. I have extremely small bones and don't think they are meant to carry so much, especially so quickly. Does anyone have any ideas? I just want to feel normal again. There always seems to be something wrong, but no one ever seems to have any idea what causes it all.
Has anyone looked into parasites? Parasites can cause swelling, weight gain, exhaustion... All sorts of things, and it is estimated by some natural doctors that a huge percentage of our population suffers from them.
I am 34 (look early 20's) have always been totally slender (not to toot my own horn, but for sake of discussion), between raw vegan and vegetarian. This summer my personal trainer boyfriend got me into training instead of just yoga - I gained muscle beautifully. I upped my caloric intake, but had no supplements or anything else unusual. I'm 5"6, naturally muscular already, and went from 116 to about 122 in two months. Muscle weighs more than fat, obvs.
Since July though, I have begun gaining weight in a strange way. I am still training and have maintained my lowcal diet, but my mid-section is really puffy and jigly and I weigh now almost 130. It doesn't seem like I'm gaining anywhere by my lower abs - it's so strange! Gassing, bloating, crazy poop (sorry but we're talking symptoms); and I have been getting crazy headaches, have almost no energy, and have been rashing on my face and back. After a cleanse which I though would remedy the bloating and stomach issue there is no change - just more weight gain.
I've been investigating parasites and it seems like I have the symptoms... Anyhow I'm going to try a parasite cleanse and see what happens. I am seriously so uncomfortable and really freaking out!

In the past few months i have gone up a couple of sizes. I have thyroid disease and recently was put on meds that was temporarily unavailable. My doctor's response was the weather is what is making me gain weight! I questioned that and was told that with the holidays i probably ate more than i should have. No, in reality, i don't change my eating habits, other than eating less because of more on the go and less time to eat.
I find it hard to believe that the "weather" caused this sudden weight gain since we have this type of weather every year. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Having same trouble with mid section and exhausted all the time. I have great insurance but still no answers.
Is looking at ovarian cancer as first idea. Was ruled out by one doc but others want it rechecked.
I have liver failure from past treatment but that is till improving and was ruled out as cause yesterday.
Have done colon hydortherapy which saved my liver and going back to it next week.
Impossible to be pregant from every angle.
Doc yesterday suggested sudden onset of diabetites.
I am mostly vegetarian with only little chicken and fish.
Lost 74 lbs learning to live heathy.
Now this.
At first, went from size 10 to 16 in 1 1/2 weeks, lost weight. Now gaining so fast.
If you have ideas I can probably get tests done.
I am from Libby, Mt and moved recently. Question on table if this problem from toxic waste situation there.

I have had this problem for almost two years now. I have seen several docs about it and i keep getting to same answers. I get that I need to cut down on calories, exercise more, IBS etc. I was tld the last time that I had an eating disorder. left the office crying because everyone treats me as if I am crazy. Like I am holed up in my house eating c**p all day and wondering why I am gaining weight. I ran, I watched my food intake, I was a size 4. Then it seemed one day I bloated up and couldn't fit into my pants. I gained 5 pounds in two days time. I have gained 20 now and I con't get it off. It doesn't matter if I run, walk, diet or pig out. I am so tired of not being taken seriously. There is something wrong and noone has any answers. here are many sites that talk about the same thing, but no one says what it is. Anyone have an answer???
Has everyone with the distended stomach situation been checked for thyroid disorders? Also, I don't know whether or not this applies to anyone's situation, but I recall that a certain vitamin/mineral deficiency can cause a distended stomach (ie: as in children in poverty-stricken areas in the world). Just some ideas to check out...just in case. Might want to check the mayo clinic website, also webmd.com, etc. for some ideas, too. Take care and God bless!
I think I know what may be wrong with you. I am watching a show as I am writting this. It's called Mystery Diagnosis. The lady on the show has what is called Cushing's Syndrome. You may want to google it.
I too have gained weight only in my stomach. I look about 9 months pregnant. I am 5'4 and normally weigh 105 and a size 0. I am now 130 lbs gained in about 3 months, and still going. I exercise 3 to 4 times a week, and I just keep getting larger. I need help. :'(
hey all: Please please have your thyroid checked. the thyroid can cause stomach distention, constipation, gas, bloat, weight gain, brittle hair, dry skin, anxiety, depression, and chronic fatige. Also asked to be checked for ovarian cancer, and STDs good luck everyone.
I also have distended abdomen for more than six months and continue to gain unintentional weight. In 2007, I went thru 36 months tx for hepatitis C virus. The tx resolved C virus but the drug therapy caused renal disease and pulmonary sarcoidosis. After 10 months of steroid tx, my abdomen began to distend and rapid weight gain. Six months ago I became nauseas and lost my appetite but blood tests were normal. Four months ago, I became more nauseated, no appetite, and had a rough pain under the rt rib cage radiating to my lower back and up my rt shoulder. My stool was dark green. Two weeks ago, the pain moderately subsided but my abdomen remains distended, and my stool was pale in color. I went to my doctor and explained the symptoms and an ultrasound was performed on my right quadrant. (Why not the entire abdomen?) The radiologist said i had a gallstone in the gallbladder, no abnormal pericholecystic fluid, and said the liver and imaged portions of the pancreas were obscured by overlying bowel gas but appeared unremarkable. (What kind of reading is that?) I've gained 5 pounds since the US and have eaten one sandwich each day. The images I visualized were clear, and appear to be ascites in the abdomen. I believe ascites is causing my distended abdomen and liver dysfunction, pancreatitis, and/or bile duct disorder is causing ascites. I intend to seek a second opinion. If you have not been tested for hepatitis, you should, because ascites are usually found in hepatis dysfuntion and developes into a thick fluid which distends the abdomen causing unintentional weight gain. Either one of the disorders can ! be a serious medical condition.
My stomach has also blown up. I can't get rid of it. I have colonoscopy, endoscopy, ultra sounds, and scans. No one can tell me anything.
I also have PCOS and it totally sucks. Has anyone found anything that will help me loose some weight or cut down on the distended belly.
I am depressed and i am desperate!

my problem sounds similar except that about 12 months ago I started losing weight rapidly went down below 100 pounds which made me look like a starving refugee (trust me not a good look) then I had surgery to remove a rather large tumor from my vocal cords and in two months gained back 60 pounds but it was all in my stomach. I am in my 50's and done with the menopause mess. I am really confused I seem to be as powerless to change the gain as I was the loss. doctors said my blood sugar levels were a bit high but not enough to medicate and that my body was probably just ignoring the insulin that was there. I was eating massive amounts to try to gain before the flip flop and have cut back to yogurt and salad ( even ending a years old pepsi habit) . I have knee and back problems so the extra weight right in front is a real problem. Thyroid is normal but I do have a small growth in my thyroid that is being watched. If anyone has any ideas of directions to check please suggest away. I am at my wits end
Oh my gosh! You are hysterical. I'm so sorry that I don't have an answer for you as I was here LOOKING for answers.
Just had to tell you that I got a very loud, very deep belly laugh from your writing sitting in my home office all by myself. When you do that, you know you found something funny.
I hope you've found an answer in the last two years . . . ?
