Check your blood sugar levels. I found out i get bad episodes of low blood sugar during my period (hypoglycemia) I am not a diabetic and it does not mean you have to be eating sweets or carbs to bring your sugar up, because later it comes down faster, when too low, it makes u feel dizzy, and foggy, and so bad tempered, and so worried of fainting since our brains feed on (glucose) sugar. I found on the net there is a connection between low blood sugar and mestrual cycle.

If you eat three regular size meals, try six smaller meals. This works for me.

Keep your sugar balanced and away from the ups and downs. Good book I bought on the net THE DO'S AND DONTS OF HYPOGLYCEMIA. BY ROBERTA RUGGIERO. Has lots of info. Hope you get better and dont panic like I used to.
My prayers go out to all of those who battle with any physical symptoms, since we are not doctors, it can be so scary not knowing whats going on?

:-( Wow i cant believe so many women have this problem. I have had ear tests, blood work, throid testing now they want to do a brain scan. No one can find out the problem but I too am so dizzy around my cycle that I feel horrible. I usually starts 3 days before my period or the day my pill ends and lasts til about a day or two after my period. Mine started about 4 months ago and it was very spuratic now like clock work it comes around my cycle. I have never had dizzy spells like this. I have spent several thousands of dollars to try find out whats wrong. So does any think if I stop my periods all together my dizziness will stop?

I have had all those tests too. I am 38 years old and my dizziness started at age 35. Some months are worse than others. Thought it was stress but then began to realize it comes on worse when it is time for my period. I have been taken Zoloft and that seems to help a little, not near as bad. Sometimes even just having to much caffiene or when I am on the computer for long periods of time brings it on also. I wish there was something that would make it just go away cause feeling like you are on a boat sucks. I can't concentrate or focus and it makes me very edgy and irritable when I am like this either. But I guess this is more common than I thought. If someone knows a cure please let me know.

Wow the computer does it to me too how funny!!! My dr finally decided to take me off my pill and see how that does. I am not looking forward to my periods though. They are horrible when I am not on the pill. But we are pretty sure it has to do with hormomes and my pill so I will keep u all posted to see if these dizzy spells go away!!!!

I am 32, have 3 kids & have never had any issues with my period - but for the past few months, I have realized that I get dizzy & nauseated around my period time. I started complaining to a friend of mine & she suggested it was due to my period - otherwise it probably wouldn't have occurred to me. It only ceases when I lay down. I hope this isn't a new monthly trend! I really thought I was having vertigo! I am going to take vitamins to see if that helps w/maybe low iron or something? I know that runs in my family...ugh 8-|

Ginger!Ginger!Ginger! I take ginger root pills that I purchase at Wal-Mart for about $4. I can not even begin to tell all of you how much it has helped. I was starting to feel hopeless and I didn't even want to get out of bed because the dizziness was that bad. I went to so many doctors that did MRI's on my head, Ear nose throat doctors, eye doctors, etc... the only that has helped is the ginger! Good luck

I am right there with you ladies!  I have had dizziness, brain fog and pressure on and off for a few years now and it seem to be getting worse.  I hadn't noticed until recently that it is happening around my cycle.  It seems to start up to a week before and gets better when I start, but I am not fully back to normal until 3-4 days in.

I, too, have gone to several doctors and none have any answers.  They keep telling me it's sinuses or allergies, etc.  It's so frustrating!  I seem to live on meclezine during these episodes.

If anyone has any answers, I would be forever indebted!

Try GingerRoot vitamins at Wal-Mart. May I ask how old you are? I went to several doctors and one told me that if you are of child bearing age it can be your pituitary gland that is causing the dizziness.

I am 36 years old.  I will try the ginger root vitamins.  I'll give just about anything a try at this point.

Thank you.

Do you have inner ear problems?

You can also try the BPPV videos on Youtube.  This also helped.

I don't think it is BPPV, but who knows.  My dizziness seems to flair up only at certain times and it doesn't seem to be affected by changing positions.

I have TMJ and the dizziness seemed to have started when the TMJ started (after my wisdom teeth removal).  I had always thought the it was from my TMJ, however now I am noticing that it is right before and during my monthly cycle.

My other symptoms are pressure on my forehead, ear pressure, feeling foggy and like my head is floating (hard to explain).  I just feel so out of it.

I have had my hormones checked and they appear to be fine.  I am a bit anemic, so I am on iron supplements as well as Vitamin D supplements.  I am working with a natural medicine practicioner who is trying to help, but so far nothing.

I am going to try the ginger and maybe some evening primrose.

Since I stopped taking the pill last year I have been getting dizzy at least twice a month. Like you all I too have noticed that I would get dizzy before my period starts and again when my perod ends. Today I finally saw an OBGY about it. Get this, he said that he has never heard of anyone being dizzy during their cycle!! I was shocked. I even kept a log to prove that it was related to my cycle. All he kept saying was that this was the first case he had ever heard about it. Like I was a new case or something. Anyway, after we talked about it  we decided to get me back on the pill and for me to keep up with the journal of any more dizzy spells and to return in 3 months with an update.

I am pretty confident that I was right and that it was due to me being off the pill for so long. Otherwise, I will go and get my ears checked out to see if they are the cause for the spells.

i always have my period every month, without any problem....from the beginning it always comes with a lots of pre-cramps and unbelievable pains and heavy and for about 7 days. of course i checked with doctor and i'm healthy, as they say...i got used to it. so this month is unusual.... my period came heavier and with a lots of clots, and i feel weak, and whole body hearts and i'm dizzy and i'm freakin out!!!! reason why i'm not going to doctor is that its just my second day of my period and anyways, i'm always freakin out if something is different and i run to a doctor and then BILLS arrive and of course there's nothing wrong with me...so i'm sick of wasting money for panicking....and rite now i'm panicking a lot and please if anybody had same thing or have heard from others or i dunno, anything...please help me!!!!
