Yo figuring out solution why it happened to me cause when i stretched I smashed my hard on the table and actually blackout for a minute
this is a normal occurrence in teenagers who are still growing. ask your pediatrician about this
You sure? I don't even have to stretch. sometimes I just sit down and play my pc and then I feel like im gonna flop, I then sit back and just flop of my chair whilst slowly closing / loosing vision I don't know if this is normal please respond. I'm 16
What were the test results?
You have Orthostatic Hypotension. I have had it for 8 years now. I pass out up to 20 times a day. Stretching makes it worse- don't stretch. There is a medication you can take that raises blood pressure. I can't take it but I heard it helps some people. Drinking more and taking salt tablets can help with blood flow. Teens often grow out of it by adulthood. Good luck to your daughter.
Is stretching on purpose when you feel your body tired dangerous though? I really like how the blackouts feel.
So glad im not the only one that this happens to.
I've had the same problems for the past 7 years. 7 years ago I couldn't get out of bed without passing out from the movement of laying down to sitting up. My doctor diagnosed me with P.O.T.S and it's still a very unknown condition that is treated with diet and salt. I personally have to take almost twice the amount of salt than the average person my age, height and weight because of this condition. I can't work like I use to because constant squatting up and down or looking up for too long can cause me to pass out.
Ask your doctors about P.O.T.S and see if they know what it is, because I've even discovered most doctors dont know about it because it is still fairly new. In fact, it's so unknown there was even an episode about it on mystery diagnosis. I happen to be at another appointment for my sister when her doctor happened to realize what my symptoms were and ran tests to confirm it.

This happens to me a lot. I only really blacked out once though. I was reaching into for a bowl then I heard this low buzzing in my ears. Next thing I knew everything was black. Woke up to my family freaking out and shaking. I couldn't speak for a bit. I felt really detached from myself, like everything was in tunnel vision and I still felt a bit numb. I didn't remember falling but I had ripped the sink faucet out the sink. And hit the ground very hard luckily I didn't hit my head on the table . Didn't feel any pain from going down which was weird. Probably the numbness. And when I stretch or stand up I feel like I'm slipping into an uncontrollable sleep. I spoke to my doctors and have been diagnosed with disatonomia and Pots disorder.
Weakened blood vessels in the legs can't pump blood up to the brain as fast or efficiently as healthy veins could causing dizziness, numbness, and tingling (pots disorder).
Disatonomia is basically when your cell receptors are off a bit. Not necessarily turned off, but they communicate and send sometimes unrecognizable messages to the brain. The brain does it's guesswork on what's needed in blood supply in a certain area and sends to little or to much blood at times. This is actually visible and I feel it at times especially when there's to little blood. Veins will sometimes be super tiny or pumped like I'd been working out.
So now I'm doing genetic testing and hope to find out more about myself and hopefully a cure. I have other issues to especially with my lungs. Hope this helps, maybe ask your doctor if it could be either of the two.
Best of luck!

I have the same thing but eat more than enough
I have the same thing, I was told it was hypotension. I can't see anything but can hear, or can see and can't hear. Or both, can't see nor hear.. it's gotten so bad that it would give me short seizures. I've fallen onto people and have smashed my head while falling.. The doctor said just to get up slower. Didn't help it, once I start regaining my vision and hearing my head near my temples throb. I once had it where I was standing up and everything just started going black, I could hear people. But I couldn't remember where I was or who was talking, until I gained my vision back .
If you truly found yourself on the floor making noises and grabbing at your hair it sounds like you are probably having a seizure...a lot different and much more serious condition than what else is being described here. I suggest you seek medical attention.
I get this too but I stay fully conches and feel my brain melting and exploding and i hear a ringing in my ears and nothing else it might be Somthing else tho idk
I've had this problem since i was ten if i'd stretch or stand up my vision would go black for a minute and i'd commonly fall over and completely lose control of my body sometimes for hours and people would look at me strangely when it happened in school i'd sometimes fall on a desk or people i don't know why but after i was able to get back it was like i'd never moved my body before kinda like if you sleep for several hours or stop the blood from going to a body part for awhile it was extremely hard to move and felt wierd to touch certain objects like a reset for your body
The same thing happens to me, but when it happens, black, geometrical shapes begin to appear, nearly blinding me. But after 2 seconds my vision is fully restored.
