Even half a glass of wine triggers pain with my gallbladder.  Surgery in just over 1 week's time though...thankfully!

I have Gallstones big time & I refuse to remove my Gallbladder. I've done my own research & have come to the conclusion that it's better for me to keep my Gallbladder than remove it. Research, Research People. Gallstones can still form & you can still have attacks after uout remove your Gallbladdrr.

Each attack I've had have been caused after I drank either 2 Margaritas or Mixed Drinks. In fact my only 4 attacks have been when I have drank mixed drinks, that night or night after. I have been okay drinking 2 beers or 2 glasses of wine without  having an attack but, wierd thing is I still have gallbladder/chest discomfort. Coinsidance or does drinking effect Liver/Bile Production. Now I will not drink a Margarita or Mixed Drink because either the sugar, sour, or alcohal causes an attack.

Please, please if your waiting for a Surgery or have decided like me to keep your Gallbladder, go on Amazon and purchase Ox Bile. I have Insurance and get something similar Bear Bile from my Dr (Ursodiol which is Bile Acid to Dissolve the Stones). Oh my goodness I have not had an attack, or as much discomfort as I did before I was taking these. Theyre supposed to remove Gallstones, but I believe they help body with Bile in your system. I beleive those with Gallstones have digestive issues & have a hard time digesting fats & Ox Bile or Prescription Ursodiol helps you digest fats/food better & prevent Attacks. Please, please try this before Removing your Gallbladder. I eat whatever I want in moderation without attacks. I take these everyday & oh my goodness I wish everyone else tried these before removing your Gallbladder.

I have been recently diagnosed with gallstones and I've been on a crazy strict diet. On the other hand your post grabbed my interest, I have been looking for better cures (besides just sticking to the diet). Are there any other supplements you take besides Ox Bile that helps? like any vitamin supplements. Please let me know! thanks

why would you have to wait 6 months for surgery?

Those flushes don't work. What comes out of you will be little balls of soap, made from the oil and other ingredients of the flush. You should be glad too, because if a gallstone of the size shown with these flushes actually passed, you would be facing a life threatening case of pancreatitis. The biliary duct joins with the pancreatic duct just as it exits into the duodenum of the small intestines. The opening is a tiny little hole closed by a tight little sphincter. Even a gallstone of just 2-3mm will stick here causing enzymes and bile to back up into the pancreas, possibly killing you. Don't play around. Only ursodeoxycholic acid, taken orally, for up to a year or more, can devolve gallstones without surgery, but It only works on small cholesterol gallstones.

I am a 52 year old male and drink at least two alcoholic beverages daily, more during weekends.  I have had around four severe gallstone attacks over the last few years; however, they seem to occur when I consume large amounts of fatty foods, not large amounts of liquor.  While the liquor and fatty foods usually go hand-in-hand, attacts only occur when I consume fatty foods (usually to excess).  I only recently discovered that I have gallstones and now know what these traumatic, seemingly endless bouts of agony in the middle of the night have been.  I don't intend on having surgery but will instead strive to manage the condition with a low fat diet.  I am aware that ursodeoxycholic acid will dissolve small, cholesterol based gallstones like mine and will discuss this with my doctor.  I have also read that vinegars, cider is the most commonly cited, will help to dissolve gallstones naturally.  Dissolving gallstones seems the more prudent course of action since removal of the gallblader will lead to other gastrointestinal issues over time.  If anyone knows of other natural remedies, please share them.  Thanks.

Lecithin supplements may also help to dissolve gallstones.

I would be very careful about not having surgery - my sister had gallstones that were misdiagnosed as a hernia. The attacks she had were awful. Ended up causing pancreatitis. She spent 9 months in hospital and never managed to beat the illness, despite previously being a strong 29 year old. She lots bags of weight and eventually died from pneumonia as her body couldn't take any more. It's all very well looking for alternative treatments but is it worth the risk all to avoid an op? My mum had hers removed a couple of years ago and is fine. Looks like I have the same problem as I had an attack last night. Off to the GP for a referral today.

I also have gallstones and suffered with serious attacks of it. You may have alcohol but just avoid fatty and spicy food. You may have pain near your heart but you can avoid it its not a heart attack. Sometimes people miss understand it as heart attack. They are the symptoms of gallstone

yes I have done the gallbladder/ liver flush many times over the years, and IT WORKS!!! I passed lots of stones. good to do it several times a year. The apple juice tends to soften gallstones so I drink it on a regular basis! rly it..you will feel better. Avoid having it out, only as a last resort!!!!

Try aloe Vera juice. Even googling it, it had utube videos that say it helps.

I have recently been diagnosed with 100-150 gravel like gallstones. I lost over 45 kilos in 12 months; which has been the cause of the stones, as well as a poor diet prior to the weight loss.

I have had approximately 20 gallstone attacks in the past year and have recently been booked in for a Gallbladder Removal. My surgeon believes it is the best thing for me and my quality of life/health as I have had to take so much time off work, too much pain to work through.

Having gallstone attacks is extremely painful and I know there are risks in having this surgery but I cant go through this pain anymore - esp the ER trips costing a fortune!

As it is coming in to Christmas and New Years, I would love to be able to enjoy a night of drinking with friends but I am scared. I've been reading through this thread and it truly does seem to be "each to their own" because every one is different and some may be fine and others, not fine.

In the past I have had a night of drinking (prior to knowing about my gallstones) and no reaction at all, not even a store stomach the next day. Yet, I will eat a salad roll with cheese - and BOOM I have an attack.

In my case, Dairy and Fatty foods is what sets me off. Perhaps, I might just be lucky with a white wine.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE and I take comfort in knowing, im not alone in this pain/situation.

Drink a few ounces of lemon juice about 20 minutes before eating.  This supposedly helps and in doing so, I feel really good these days.  In fact, the effect was almost immediate.  I did not have my gall bladder removed, I drink like a fish, but do moderate fatty foods and refined carbohydrates.  I'd advise anyone to do some internet research and try some alternative treatments before removing an internal organ.  Cheers.

I have gallstones and take Dr. Schulze's LGB tonic and as long as I take occasionally, I can eat anything without an attack. I first took it religiously everyday for two weeks then went to every other day, then whenever I know I'm going to the movies I take it prior. No operation for right now. I have over 9 stones. This tonic is amazing!!!
