I have just had a confirmed diagnosis that the gall bladder was almost completely full of stones measuring about 1 cm. I was so stressed out about the possibility of having surgery (i have bad experiences), that I have been fighting the anxiety with red wine. Quite by accident, I discovered that one or two small glasses of good red wine after work makes all of my RUQ pain go away for a few hours. I don't understand the connection, except that perhaps the stress and anxiety worsens the pain of an already irritated gall bladder. While one or two glasses of wine is getting me by 'til I make a decision about surgery, I WOULD NOT go out and get drunk or try any hard liquor with an inflamed gall bladder. But a little red wine will probably not hurt, and it might help.
I too am waiting to have my gallbladder removed as I have gallstones. I drink a little red wine mainly Shiraz and was wondering if this was advisable. Sarah
I am waiting for ultrasound, as i am having pain under my right rib and down my back and shoulder blades, anything i eat seems to set the pain off, and it lasts for several hours, the doctor says that it sounds like gallstones,i have only just had a endoscopy for acid reflux, which i have had for four years, apparently people who have gallstones, also have acid reflux, but they are not connected ..My mother had gallstones, apparently it is Genetic but i don't remember her having acid reflux. Mmm..
Hi would you please let me know how your sister has been consuming and eating these beans id love to give the ma go.

Just had
My appendix removed Fridays 13th 2915 and had stent out in cause I have kidney stone blocking my kidney waiting for that surgery in feb 2016 and now I have just been told my hall bladder has to come out after my second surgery. Cause I have gall stones . It's Xmas time and I have cut out lot of foods and just wondering if it's ok to have couple of drinks for Xmas new year ???????
I can tell you, I beat it! It only happened once so it may be a coincidence that it stopped after half an hour or so. What worked for me may not work for you, so do your research, keep a list and find out what alleviates the pain for you.
As for the alcohol; I drink more than I should.
About 50% of my attacks have happened when I've had a drink......which means nothing. The attacks have become less frequent after cutting DOWN on fatty foods and dairy.
I have an appointment with the surgeon tomorrow to discuss options.
You have to keep doing them till you're gallstone free.
Look it up and buy the book.
Good luck and Godspeed.
