I hope someone can help me out. I have just gone thru a bad bout with insomnia. I have been on quite a few medications thru the last 4 years. The insomnia came about just as I was comming down with some type of bacterial infection. The doctor put me on cipro. I have been on it for about 5 days now. Yesterday was very bad, evey time I walk i get these "shocking" feelings thru my head and body. I am also suffering from bad back problems and have been on everything from fentenyl, percocet, and I am comming off of a few weeks of methadone. I have been off the metadone for about 3- 4 weeks now, and the doctor has put me on Gabentin. I was to take it 3 times a day, but could not tolerate it ,so he told me just take it at night for now. I feel like i am going to crawl out of my skin on some days. This whole feeling of getting the "electric shock feeling" is very scary.I hope someone out there may have some type of an answer for what this might be. PLEASE HELP.

the cipro is killing you. go to flouroquinolones toxity support group and read about what this poison has done to thousands of people.
I have been experiencing an electric wave that flows from the base of my spine throughout the entire top half of my body terminating in the head and arms causing a moderate to serious head jerk. It generally happens when I am sitting, I can also create them consciously just on a smaller scale...I have never been seriously ill, ever, no known medical conditions either. I did however crack my forehead hard enough that I have 2 separate cracks in the middle of my skull from my eyebrows to approx. 3 inches above my hairline accompanied by frequent headaches that I also did not have before. I also have instances very seldom when just laying down to sleep I will either experience a falling sensation or a short acute electric pain in the back left lobe of my brain with a strong momentary feeling of anxiety. This has been going on for nearly 3 years, I do not take medication and I would not even if it were offered, just wanted to share so others know they are not crazy.
I am not taking any medications. I have had feeling this electric socks off-and on for months. I will make an appointment to see a Neurologist. It is frightening. I read these  are Parkinson's symptoms.
I have been feeling the same electrical shock feeling all over my body (specially hands, feet and round my neck ) for the last few days.  I went to ER and they could not find anything (only that I was Anemic) which I already knew and my doctor does not think it is a big deal.  I got MRI done on my brain and the result is negative (no sign of stroke , MS or inflammation).  None of the doctors know what this is.  I am getting panic attack over it which of course makes it even worst.  I read somewhere that Vitamin D and B12 Deficiency can cause this so I started taking both yesterday.  I have never had this happen before and the feeling does really worry me.  I feel as if I am going to have seizure.  I feel as if I have cell phone vibrating all over my body.
I also have restless legs syndrone and myoclonic jerks. Does anyone else suffer from these?
Yesterday morning I experienced the whole entire body shock, it was as if I stuck my finger on 220 plus volts of electricity and hit my head first ears, simontaneously strang thru my entire body, my feet was burning on fire and tingling and needles and pins was running up and down sideways continuous for about six (6) seconds or so, dont seem like a long time, but long enough while it was happening I couldnt think straight. I was brushing my teeth bent over the sink, and I gagged and about choked right before this happened, I gagged really hard and my neck sprung up and the time when this all happened just that fast. Any one with any answers please help. I still today have the sore pains of poor circulation in both my legs and my right foot is extremely sore still, I noticed some veins extended, swollen ankles and such now and left hand is still having sensations
I'm experiencing the same thing, but I dont understand why. Last time it was from withdrawals from Zoloft, but I haven't taken it in years. I take ambien to sleep, have been for a while, and clonazepam for anxiety. But this just started yesterday along with a cough that brings a severe headache for a split second. I'm going to the doc on my next day off.
I have had an "electric shock" sensation for most of my life. I am not on any medication at all, none. The last regimented medication I took was a blood pressure regulator in high school and that was more than fifteen years ago. I have never been on any kind of mood stabalizer or anti-depressant. The sensation seems to come when I lay down to sleep, and at other times during the day when I feel tired. The "strength" of the shock varies. I feel it from head to toe all at once. It does not come in waves, it is not isolated to a particular area. They are not painful. They are not accompanied by heat. I hear them every bit as much as I feel them.  It is not due to nerve damage or a spinal injury. I am high stress and I have panic attacks, but they are infrequent. Again, I do not take medication for them. I have asked several people about this and they don't seem to know what I'm talking about, with the exception of my wife, who does not take any medication either. But her sensations are different. I do not own or use a cell phone. My home is not inundated with electrical devices spewing The only reason I am posting this is because the last shock I experienced was the strongest so far and has lasted the longest. On this thread, I've read that it might be partial seizures, but there is no history of epilepsy or any sort of nerve disorder in my family. I also read that it might be Parkinson's Disease. I do have inner ear problems that I've had since birth, but I don't see how that would cause a full body sensation. If there is anyone that has posted on this thread, or that reads this thread, and you have similar symptoms, please reply.Thanks.
I too feel like someone orsomething is 'zapping' me or tasering me like a dark force of some kind. It just started a month ago but has become very disruptive in my life. HELP!!!
I have been on methadone and cymbalta for 2 years, due to back surgery and fibromyalgia. I have felt the buzzing electrical feeling on and off, over the last 2 years. Due to a increase of Serotonin, caused by both medications, I have just been weaned of the Cymbalta. The feeling of electrical buzzing has increased in the last couple of days. I dont think you are crazy at all, but the feeling can make you feel like you are. Hang in there.

I am now off the Cymbalta, due to over productin/build up of seratonin in my body. The buzzing has become more frequent now
I have the electric shock feeling too.  The first time was about 4 yrs. ago. I'm 48 yrs.old.   I thought I was going to have a ceasure.  It is mostly in my mouth, and can cause me to studder. I have body jolts to. My first jolt was when I had back surgery, but they finally went away.  I feel weird during the episodes of shock, and when I move thats when they come through stronger like I stuck my finge in a light socket.  I have it from my mouth down.  I somtimes have what feels like a bolt of lighting shoot through my head.  My family doc said the shock feeling is from my nerves (mental).  I have had bad nerves since like 4 yrs. of age due to bad treament from stepmother and my dad did not play with punishment. So I know what caused me to have bad nerves and depression.  The shock feeling can be some what debilating. It can cause me to stagger before I get controll of my body.  I don't know if my family doc is right or not.  I plan on talking to my nero about it .  It could be caused by the nervous system.  That's what I'm thinking cause of the 5 buldged dics in my neck.  Don't know. O and I hear my phone ringing when I'm in the shower or blowing my hair.  Weird.  Hope we can get a for sure answer.
My doctor suspects I have fibromyalgia and I will see a neurologist on May 20th. I take lots of meds, but the ones that concern me the most are Lyrica (to treat the pain I have) and Cymbalta. If I miss a dose of Cymbalta, I have shocks within a few hours. If I miss a second dose (sometimes my insurance gives me a problem with refills, long story), I can't take a step without feeling some kind of numbness, shock, and a feeling of the world going gray. I'm 31 and have anxiety, depression, and other problems. My husband believes that the shocks are real, but he calls me a hypochondriac anyway. This totally sucks.
i have been having this shocking feeling now for about 3 days, it seems to happen when i turn my head or sometimes move like bend and at times just when i step down with one foot (walking) (i am not on any meds and haven't been) when it happens (more often then not ) unless i am just sitting and doing nothing, when it happens it goes through my whole body all at once, feet legs, arms, neck chest face head neck even feel it in my tounge, my whole body, at times it feels as though i am going to pass out, the only thing that is different with me lately is real bad and i mean real bad pain in my spine, even hurts to touch in alot of areas all the way from the very top of my spine all the way down, and have noticed my arms and hands and legs are going numb alot, even just sitting here now my spine hurts, and my legs are hurting and my hands feel like millions of little needles, will be seeing a doctor tomorrow hoping he can give me some answers, i am thinking it has something to do with my spine, but will post for sure if they tell me what it is, it is driving me insane with the pain and feeling like i am going to pass out, so much so i have made sure my family knows what is going on incase that does happen, i am also 1 year out from having breast cancer, so this is freaking me out a bit, WILL post WHEN not if but WHEN i find out what it is,
