I'm starting Prevention Mag's great "Flat Belly Diet" 4 day anti bloating program, with their cucumber and ginger or "Sassy Water" all day. The whole program is aimed at a Mediteranean style diet for LIFE and INCLUDES dark chocolate, nuts, olives and good oils and my personal fav, Avacadoes. I can be your guinea pic and let ya' know
Just wanted to throw out an update. I was experiencing the same symptoms as everyone else Huge amounts of bloat/unable to eat more than a handful of food otherwise I looked like I was 7 mnths prego. I had tried several things to no avail...
1. Rectal exam to make sure there were no blockages
2. Blood Test checking for everything (first time my liver panel came out a little high so I had to repeat it down the road where were ran every Liver test available, checked for ovarian cancer, checking for Lyme, Food Allergies, Thyroid, etc.
3. Ultrasounds of Abdomen and Pelvice - found cyst on ovaries due to cycle--- re-tested later and did PAP and all was fine
4. Colonoscopy - all good there
5. Colonics
6. Chiropractic Adjustments/Western European Medicine (DSF supplement to help with Adrenals, Chlorophyl and Magnesium to help with consipation, Digestive Enzymes to help break down food, Alpha Beta Food to help break down food),
7. Colon cleanse supplement (** I would recommend this to anyone having issues with being regular I use an all natural one "Super Colon Cleanse" and I take 4 pills at night before I go to bed with a glass of water)

8. Went on a strong dose of Xfaxian in case it was due to bacterial infection in the gut - No change
8. CT scan (which my GI tried to convince me I didn't need because of the fantastic colonoscopy results.) During the CT Scan they found a small peice of my colon was enlarged. My Reg. Doc gave ma a 2 week script for Prendisone. After being on it a few days I felt like thing might actually be getting better (I couldn't tell 100% because I was on vacation and eating like a pig.) I beleive that it all seems to be resolved now and I haven't bloated up like I used to and can eat larger quantities of food with normal reactions.
I don't know if this will be helpful, but if you haven't gotten a CT Scan you may want to think about it.
I am 50...same exact problem as you...only I have gain 5 pounds per week in 4 weeks, 20 pounds weight gain in a month....went to doctor, he drew blood to test, said my Thyroid is off on the normal numbers....been taking the pills for two weeks now with no noticable difference, but then again he said it takes two weeks to get into your system. In the meanwhile I have a giant upper stomach, which is Never been where I gain it in the past, discomfort, burning also in lower abdomen....very depressed over all this.
