Excessive Mucus - A Slow Frustrating Death

Tina i have green mucus in my throat for a year and have taking antibotics and it will not go away please help.

I have the clear flem build up for the last one year. ENT Dr cant find any reason. There is no bad breath but i feel a constant choaking in the throat though have no swellowing problems.
Help needed please.

I know what you are going through with the cough and mucus. I have been to Cleveland Clinic and Vanderbilt Medical Center without getting a diagnosis. Finally I went to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville FL. They saved my life!!!!! After numerous CT Scans and being told I had a chronic habitual cough and was discharged with no follow-up I had to find someone to help me or die within a few months.
MAYO has a Dr Guardares that went one step further and did a more in depth scan and guess what. I GOT AN ANSWER. I have BRONCHIECTASIS. It's an incurable but manageable disease. The treatment is the same as a person with CYSTIC FIBROSIS. Please have your Dr do this scan. It could save your life..

Thank you for your post. I have been trying to find an answer now for many years and still have mucus in the throat. Don't know if it's what your doc at the mayo clinic found or not. I don't really have a cough. My oldest son had Cystic Fibrosis so I know all about that problem and have sometimes wondered if I have something like it as well. Thank you again.

Hi everyone! I used to have mucus problems too but i dont anymore! Im a vegan and its the best decision ive ever made! Check out dr sebi or dhealthstore on youtube they can really help you all! You dont have to live like that. I wish the best for you all!

I also have the constant clearing of my throat, especially in the morning. I drive my husband nuts, but I can't stop the attempt to clear my throat. It is not a habit. I just get the gunk in my throat. I have been tested for allergies & have none. Also my ears get plugged (like going up a mountain) it comes & goes. The DRS don't find any issues with my ears but it drives me crazy. If I bend my head down it goes away and then returns. Started on ALoe Vera juice someone suggested for the burning in my throat (from all the clearing) I would like a natural product as I hate taking meds .

I have had the same problem all my life. After trying everything I am now trying NAET. I will let you know if I have any success. In the meantime, feel free to try boiron hydrastis canadensis. It has helped me a bit.

I just saw your post while searching for an answer to my "mucus" problem. I, too, can't seem to get the stuff up and sometimes gag until I throw up. Have you had any luck with finding treatment yet? Also, are you or where you ever a smoker? I ask this because my husband insists it is from smoking. (I'm a smoker, he is not) Any info about this will help a lot. Thanks.

HI.. For years I never had no allergy at all ! However all my family did to hay fever, some toothpastes,detergents, bees, peanuts, eggs..etc.. About 11 years ago I started getting attacks I thought great family hystory catching up with me. For years, every summer an fall especially be bad ! BE in ER getting shots.. YEars later a ER doc said you have butterfly bush allergies too! NO? Doc said yes your the 55th person I seen today with same problem. The bush blooms an seeds this time of year.. SO I thought this bush culprit.. So they shoot me up with steroid shots, steroid inhalers, BEnedryl, inhalers with steroids, an the allergy med starts with S? Shoot slipped my mind ! Anyway many years later 10 to be exact I change doctors an she wonders why I never was sent to allergist !? She sends me after adding ADVair.. tAKES FEW MONTHS TO GET INto this allergist. HE runs tests.. ONE I never should have been on Advair, tests show I did not have COPD as DOC thought ! HE removed me FROM Singular I took for 10 years when tests shown I do not have allergies of NO KIND ! Not Even to molds ! THE oNE THING THAT DID SHOW WAS hystamINE LEVELS AN SKIN TEST BOTH.. dANGEROUS NEAR DEATH LEVELS ! HE wondered why I had not already died? HE said Singular an other allergy meds add Hystamine to cure you ! They had been adding to my hystamine counts.. Along with the disiease HE found I had , called Hystamine disease.. YEP ! All smells an especially Chemicals to aumonnia ,pinesol, an bleach, make me sick as a Dog ! BReath of them aqn other smells as perfumes, deodorants, baby oils an powders, room deopderizers, handsanitizers an etc.. TAKE MY BREAth away ! Which causes sinus swelling of cavities, throat, lungs, eyes, anything connects to sinus cavity. An I accumilate MUCus as if it were allergy. YEs clear mucus thick enough to gag a horse, n cough. I Found with time getting to hot, or too cold, triggers the cough ! They put me on Zyrtec which does not have hystamiine to cure you.. AN things got a whole LOT better ! Not cured but better ! Check allergist for HYStamine disease is a start for you !? GOOD Luck !

my name is tasha. i also suffer with excessive mucus. i also have severe asthma which makes thing unbearable.the mucus from my sinuses drips into my chest and causes me so much congestion and pain that i become weak,shaky, and i have to fight just to breathe.my chest is always tight, so tight that i have to take dozens of medications back to back. i constantly have bacterial infections.and im sure the excessive mucus is the cause of my troubles.

I have the same thing.It's really hard to breathe sometimes.Other times i just cough like crazy!I always am getting bad sicknesses.
