I had my gall bladder out about 10 days ago and last night I felt as if I was having another gall bladder attack. I think it was what I had eaten. Since the Dr said there is no restrictions, I didn't really give it a second thought. It seems as though the Popcorn I ate made me feel horrible. But I had also eaten some potatoe chips and salsa. My wife says anything high in Fat may cause probelms as she has hers out several years ago...All I know is that I don't want to feel that type pain ever again and I how I can correct with diet and maybe some medication. Plus I had to have the Open Type of removal. Gosh I sure hope is as simple as my body needing to adjust.
You would want to avoid both.
You would want to eat UNSAT fats. And ideally POLYUNSAT fats.
To explain, it has to do with the structure of these fats at a molecular level. Saturated fats have only single bonded carbon/hydrogen's in its fatty acid tails. This allows them to be packed very solidly, consider laying bricks. They are all nice, square, and smooth. You can pack them in nice and tight. This is not good for our systems as it makes it more difficult to get rid of. Unsaturated fats have the same single bond carbon/hydrogen make up in their fatty acid tails, however, somewhere in the tail there is a double bond, or multiples of. This causes a "kink" (for better lack of a word) that makes the tail bent. This doesn't allow them to be packed very solidly. Consider a bendy straw that you've bent. Place this into a pile of other bendy straws and they don't pack very well. This allows our systems to break them down and get rid of them.
Hope this helps.

Had spinal fusion at the end of Sept I was always sick to my stomach afterwards and didnt wanna eat was scared to because of the bloating, gas, nausea, pain. I think there was a deffinite corralation between the spinal surgery and My gallbladder not working anymore. Spinal surgery they went in from front and back. Front they had to push everything over for surgeon to get to spine. It's jan 17th I had the Gallbladder removed on the tenth because I was bed ridden and stayed on the sofa holding my stomach. I was moments away from calling for an ambulance when my wife took pity on me and rushed me to ER. They gave me a ct scan of abdominal area, colonoscopy everything looked fine. until they injected a liquid into my iv that caused all my symptoms to over enunciate themselves. Nausea, pain gas, bloating. apparently the injection was to see if the gallbladder was working and it was not so they had to remove it. Thank God, I now can eat foods again. I have noticed some times where I need to get to a restroom but it has only been a couple of weeks since surgery. I think in retrospect they shouldve removed the damn thing while they were in there inserting the rods and pins in my spine. I was on deaths door now I'm back to myself. so, if your stomach is sick get this done asap. dont even worry about it . get it done. Before surgery I could eat something and feel the acid dripping into my solarplex area causing Nausea and acid reflux, gas ugh just nasty. only thing that helped was the fact that I can make myself burp or belch. I was chewing on tums like candy nothing helped except the removal of gasses. thank you jesus for the laporwhatever its called surgery. p.s. I am eatting healthier now and we all should be, but, I also enjoyed a whopper sandwich last night as well. I'm not perfect :-) feel fine though :-)
i had my gall bladder removed after getting gall stones and i have recently realised i have been getting diahorea after eating dairy products - i put this down to me maybe benn lactos intolerant but having read these blogs i think it may be down to me having my gall bladder removed! i had the surgery around 3years ago and have since been getting the same pain i had years ago. do you think it may be linked?
has anyone ever heard of chicken causing diarrhea??
It's nice to see that other people are having the same effects I am having after having their gallbladder taken out.
They have the same question I have and that's great, now where do you go to see the answers??
I keep seeing the same question over and over where are the answers to these question???
Please help us all out!!
Thanks
Jim
Please some one help.Had gall bladder surgey 27 years ago was doing fine until about a year ago I'm 54 years old and it seems like after I eat I'm so blouted and my stomach is hard and hurts. bowel movement not so good either
I know several people who had diahhrea frequently after gallbladder surgery (removal) It was a major problem for them...until their Drs. put them on certain medicine, which corrected the problem considerably. This goes for men AND women, alike. Good luck~ ASK YOUR DR. If I find out what medicine they were given, I'll repost.
i also had my galbladder taken out... im glad i had it taken out but now when i eat certain things i have pain in my lower stomach and have to run to the bathroom with diaherah.. is there something i should avoid eating so i dont have this problem? or even medicine i could take so i dont get the pain and diaherah?
i had mine out last week im so happy i did but im still on a low fat diet i will b 4 6 weeks :)
I had my gallbladder out a year in May. Since the surgery I have had bad bouts of diarrhea too. I've noticed that after eating cereal, red sauce, Bbq sauce, and dairy products I have the most problems. Just yesterday I splurged and had Taco Bell for the first time in months and today I am paying dearly. My doctor told me that every case is different and some people have problems and some don't. I am going to give the Papaya pills a shot to help stop the diarrhea.
I had my gall bladder removed and am now experiencing naseua, constipation, and very dark stools. Is this normal? I have lost weight, down from 155 lbs. to 130. I do not have a good appetite and cannot eat like I once did before. Is something else wrong?
what are the magic pills???
yes i had real good luck i just cut down on my eating i use to weight 323 pounds now i weight 210 best thing i ever did
I too had the surgery about 10 years ago and had no problems until recently, at age 40 . I am online today to do research to find a solution to my stomach problems.
