A day or two ago I found something just like this in my left labia minora, which is far larger than my right one. It's like a little knot or bead embedded in the flesh, and I haven't got a single clue as to what it is. It only hurts when I wipe after peeing, the friction makes it feel like a very small open wound. I want to get it checked out and I told my mom, but she hasn't really responded to me. If I could just figure out what it is, I'd be so relieved.

I've noticed they seem for form after wearing a thong/g-string all day. Especially if I'm wearing jeans or something else that rubs and irritates when I move around. First it itches, then a hard lump, then red and tender. Several days later it will usually rupture and go away.

Hey ,
I am experiencing the same thing, its the first time . My period date is tmmrw, and I am a bit sick since few days. I'm getting pretty scared about these lumps , how did you manage to get rid of them? How long does it take to heal?

I wish I could have an answer to your question but I don't. I also have two small ones on my right side as well. The doctor just told me not to worry about it and they didn't even give me a direct answer to what it was. I truly thought I was the only one who had these but I guess I'm not. Thank you for sharing your story since I thought I was the only one who thought I had these. Hopefully we will get a true answer to our concern.

I get these cysts also. If larger and hard and painful, buy sits bath to soak the cyst 3 x day with warm water. It's a plastic like bowl shape you place on toilet bowl and cyst soaks in warm water to help it drain. Sit and read. Sits bath is less than $20 at local pharmacy. Check locally on line for prtcing.. Don't squeeze it. Good luck, mb

You should make an appointment with your doctor/ gynaecologist and get a biopsy of the lumps as you can get vulva cancer which is a rare type of cancer like a melanoma cancer.

Can the oil cause other pores to clog, relocating the issue?

I'm hearing one of many causes is simply clogged pores and some associate it with hormones. I'm on an IUD that does have the hormones (similar to a depo shot in strength/release) and can cause spotting. It seems to happen just prior to that hormone surge for me. And I wash twice a day to be very mindful of hygiene, I've changed soaps and I may even over clean. Anyhow I thought it was HSV from a non conclusive test 25 years ago (college scare) so I took acyclovir to be safe (doc gave me it later in life incase something ever came up). It did nothjng at all. And I had a cyst in one single spot each time. Never at the same time. Never same location or in clusters. But labia. The ONLY thing that cleared it for 4 months was a strong course of antibiotics I was on for a cat bite. It just went away like that. Now it finally resurfaced. So how can we prevent these? If we practice excellent hygeine and that doesn't help, how can we be proactive? Anyone figured out how to stop them or mitigate them?

It is NOT Bartholin's cyst. It's called a sebaceous cyst (even if not the sebaceous gland involved) and you should NEVER try to squeeze or pop it.

I too have had one for over 3 years...a Sebaceous Cyst..it shrinks and expands back often but will not go away...My gyn tells me to leave it alone and it will go away by itself...I am going to a new gyn soon, to have it cut out..I am so tired of this thing and my man thinks I cheated or have a wart...I want it gone for good! I asked my gyn how did I get? She said probably from shaving, since I don't use pads and am very particular about keeping my area clean. Oh the stupid c**p we women have to deal with!

Correct! I am having mine cut out soon...after 3 1/2 years of it annoying the hell out of me! It doesn't hurt, just cramping my style and affecting my relationship. All because of a stupid bump! I want it out! The hot wash cloths/baths did not work for me at all- nor meds...I'm having it removed & pray it never comes back! Good luck ladies! I'm glad I'm not alone in this!
