Thank you for all this info. I have several little ones and I have had them since I was 18 but i only had a couple now I have several. I have always left them alone. I noticed them after the very first time I shaved clean down below and they have only increased in the last 5 years. the more i shave the more i get so now i am thinking to stop shaving. i am 46 Oh and sometimes they just form a head and i can squeeze them with no pain or infection and a hard cell comes out , it feels like wax. It's so gross but I guess there is nothing to do. I did notice when taking anitbiotics they shrunk but after the medicine they always come back. ughhhh my boyfriend said i have herpes! I don't have any breakouts and they don't look like blisters. I am so glad I found this forum.

I have been reading though a lot of these. Never have I had one, I have a semi large on on left, sounds silly but I think I might of got it by accidentally cutting a tiny part of skin by accident about 3 weeks ago, at time it hurt for about 3 days. I was rushing I'd decided I want to go swimming that's how I accidentally cut it with tiny scissors, around area, That only thing I can think that may of caused this. Its like page pea, hard I tried to push it, it very tender, later when I checked it again it had tiny hole its inflamed, tender when I wipe that's how I found it. It seem to of just suddenly appear, because I had been to toilet before that and it was not sharp pain like that. Would it be a cyst?

Those bumps are glands that have gotten blocked. Only have doc drain if they become bothersome. Have the same and have for years.

About two years ago I had developed a small pea like cyst on the right side of my labia minora. I had absolutely no issues with it. I shave so I only really noticed it when I wiped after urination or shaved to be honest for the longest time. I am very healthy and active it never bothered me a single bit. In August of this year though the cyst went from the size of a pea to a golf ball over night. The next day I had gone to my family doctor and she had referred me to a gynaecologist. My family doctor advised me to sit in Epson salt baths two to three times a day and hoped it would burst on it's own and wait for my apt. Two days later I ended up in the emergency department with a raging fever and the infection was spreading at an alarming rate. The infection for me spread fast. It was down to my middle liner thigh and up into my lower abdominal area with in three days. I ended up with septicaemia ( septic shock) and had emergency surgery the same day. I was on very strong antibiotics in the hospital and was sent home with clindamycin 450 mg four times daily . I had to have the incision packed for ten days until the incision stopped secreting fluid and started to close on its own. The packing was painful and a horrible experience. Six weeks post operative another cyst formed. This time I did not wait and went directly to emergency and left with a percription of clindamycin 300 mg three times a day. I have had a follow up with my gynocologist when I had finished the medication. She was completely shocked to see me again as the odds of getting another on of these cysts was like one in a million. I personally would rather will the lottery with those odds. The cyst has cleared up for the time being. I still feel a small hard lump at the top of my scar and it is painful to touch still. My obgyn states that is because the scar tissue is still healing and possibly a never might be involved. I was not confident with her answer. I am a healthy 42 year old with no previous concerning medical history. I do not have any sexually transmitted diseases. I question why this is happening or what I am doing to have caused this. My obgyn said that it probably happened do to a cut which got infected or a pimple or a clogged duct. I am keeping my fingers crossed it does not happen again. It sounds like I am not the only one out there. I hope my experience helps

It’s just a sticky jelly type fluid that feels hard to the touch. Sometimes it’s actually white like a pimple, it can be either. It’s just like a pimple, in the sense it’s just clogged fluid. It itches a bit then hurts, but our body is science and it’s nothing abnormal. I was so curious to see what the heck was going in that I took a sterilized needle to the bump and then just squeezed. It hurt SO MUCH!!! But I wanted to see what it was, because I get it every so often. Well, I got my answer and it’s no big deal :) Happens when I sweat a lot :0

I have the same issue and doctor said the same it is a build up of calcium and they can be surgically removed but she doesn't want to do it. Only way she would if I was having surgery for another reason and was already under anesthesia.

Hi Lisa

Was it still tender when it popped & how long did it take to heal?

l first got these cysts when l was pregnant with my son, who is now 25. l did nothing and it disappeared on it's own. ln between my children l regularly got them, to the point that one was so bad that l went to gyno and he lanced it. His recommendation if l got any more, was to squeeze it until it burst. That's what l've done since then and while it's excruciating to squeeze them, l have instant relief once it's popped. As others have said, a murky, yellow fluid comes out of it, sometimes with so much force that it goes onto the mirror. l get them in different sizes and all are as painful as each other. l believe that they are caused by hormones, as l got them all of the time when l've been pregnant. l also get them just before a period. l'm menopausal now and haven't had them for ages, as l've not had regular periods. However, l still get periods occasionally and l always get one of these cysts just before it begins

does it have a certain color to it? Or does it blend in with the color of your Labia?

I was lucky to look online about 3 days after one appeared and I saw someone mention applying With Hazel to it on a cotton pad or ball and leaving overnight, after one night of that and washing in the morning with Witch Hazel mine came to a head in less than 24 hours and popped at the slightest touch, might be a good idea for you to use that so you don’t go through the pain of squeezing it without a head to it, it wasn’t a head like a pimple though it was just a tiny spot that looked slightly darker.

Hi. I am a 35 year old woman. I wanted to share my experience from about a month ago when I noticed a little bump on my right labia minora. It was on the inside. It was about 3 or 4 mm round and it was tender to the touch. I could see a white head inside it. But boy did it freak me out! I have depression and anxiety issues and this really threw me for a loop. I was Googling like crazy. I jumped to the worst conclusions. I had convinced myself of the worst possible scenarios. Then I found some information about trying a warm compress. I did that for a few hours off and on and then i squeezed it, I barely had to put any pressure on it at all and it popped. White stuff came out and a little blood. The it completely disappeared.
Then, about a week later, I felt around to see if it was still gone and there was another, even smaller bump on the other labia minora flap on the inside. It was maybe 2 or 3 mm. There goes round two of my anxiety issues. This one didn't have an obvious white spot that I could see, but if i stretched the skin by putting my finger behind the labia, I could see white inside the bump. It wasn't tender to the touch, it was just a single, protruding, hard bump. I imagined it was a genital wart or herpes. I of course googled again and obsessed. That is when I found this thread, which was very helpful. It felt so good to know I wasn't the only one experiencing this and worrying like a crazy person. I also found some other things that helped. A video from Scary Mommy called Madge the Vag "5 Common Vagina Problems You Might Have In Your Lifetime". About halfway the doctor talks about lumps and bumps. Also, an article called "Vaginal lumps and bumps" on a website called ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** posting of web addresses is not allowed*** Please read our Terms of Use.
Well, the new little bump just hung out for about a week and a half. I told myself to stop feeling it and stop thinking about it, which was hard for me. I bought some "calming" tea and tried to focus on work. Then, this morning I felt down there and it is completely gone. There is no sign of it. Like I said, it was there about a week and a half. I had plans to try a warm compress like before but it went away on its own. It never hurt or oozed anything. I bet I wouldn't have even known it was there.
I am becoming more and more convinced that owning a vagina is a pain in the butt sometimes. Think of all women go through! Geez! But I am so grateful for sites like this where we can talk about things and help each other in some small way.
