Hi ladies! I came online to see if I could self diagnose this problem for myself that started about a week ago. I know it's not an STD and it reminds me of what they say are "stones" in men. Glad to know there are others with the same issue.
how did your doctor remove it.
Not all are Bartholin’s—only when gland is involved. Many are sebaceous cysts.
I have the same thing! Though I noticed it after a rough night of sex he slapped my V pretty hard and I think the blood rush made it form but idk
I've had them for years ever since I had my daughter. They don't hurt they sometime pop and pus comes out. Had the large ones finally removed they were sebaceous cyst. Lately I have popped the really small ones and it's almost like awesome seed pops out. I popped 2 this week. Weird but I'm so obsessed with getting rid of them sitting in a warm bath helps them come to surface and they sort of pop on their own. Hope this helps
Have you tried the AIP diet?
I had what the doctor I went to-- at a walk-in clinic in the South--called a Bartholin cyst on the outer side of the labia. I had been 'living' (with poor hygiene) at hospitals with a sick spouse for a few months with, so I assumed that was the primary cause, although the doctor didn't think so. He did give me shots to deaden the area, but those hurt worse than the lancing. If I have to do it again, I will spray Dermablast, use some lidocaine gel with aloe, or something like that to numb it first!
I have another just now--attributing it to a lot of sitting this time. I've tried so many products so far (tea tree oil, shea butter, turpentine, cocont oil, merthiolate, castor oil, turmeric, emu oil, and on and on the list goes) and, although none of these supposed remedies have made it disappear, at least it's less sore and not getting any larger.
I could have wrote that!! Same!!! Dr appt Friday!
I'm not crazy! I get this every few months on one side or both, though mine are usualy almost painless. No matter how many times i tried describing this to doctors (who dismiss and don't check) or the internet, even a couple friends, they all say its either an ingrown hair, an irritated gland, or tell me I'm not sanitary enough. The problem is, it gets worse if i clean too many times a day (especially if the water's hot) and as others have pointed out, hair doesn't really grow on the labia minora; and even if it did why don't i get them in a single spot anywhere else on my body? Like others I also began experiencing this before becoming sexually active and they have to go away on their own, its Inside the labia, usually taking 6-10 days.
This may be too bold a question, but has anyone else noticed if this gets worse with masterbation or the use of hot water?

Hi, when you say they get worse if you wash with hot water do you mean painful or bigger or how do you mean?
Are they visible lumps on the labia or just ones that you can only feel when you squeeze the labia minora between thumb and fingers?

WHAT IS IT??
I'm in the very same situation would really enjoy knowing if you have found out what it is or how to heal it? Much thanks
Hi everyone, I think this very recently published study from December 2021 could be very helpful and reassuring. This seems to be quite a normal problem for women, but is barely reported in medical literature. You may not have access to the whole article, however, you can see the summary.
The authors propose calling their findings Vulvar Fordyce Adenitis. It seems to encompass much of what everyone has discussed here.
