Hey I have the same lump. and used to get headaches everyday as well, but from the sounds of it, if you are wearing your hair in a ponytail or up tighter than a head band, you are most likely getting head aches from that! or something in your diet. I would start by wearing your hair down for two weeks, i know its a pain, thats why i cut mine off to get used to not putting it up. i cant stand the head aches when i have to wear my hair up.

I have the same thing on my forehead too.  Right in the center above my nose.  I met with a cosmedtic surgeon <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

and he removed most of it.  Its a type of growth on the bone that can be scraped off.  I have a scar right on it, so i must have hit my head when i was a child.  The surgeon cut the same sacr and was able to remove most of it.   It still there some and am going to see him again to even it out.  I forget the name of the growth but will be back here to let you know and how it turns out.

I've been to several doctors and they say it's not serious and they would not help.  I went to this doctor who is my dermatologist  also the cosmetic surgeon and he knew right away what it was.  It took him no more than a minute to figure this out when other doctors knew nothing.

Hi I'm fourteen years old with a forehead lump above my right eyebrow. every time i feel on it is hard and solid like a bone. it just popped up like 5 months ago. now kids make fun at me at school and calls it a titty. i asked my dermatologist and he said he will an ultrasound on it? and i don't think it safe to remove a bone from your skull. i just want this thing gone.

I have the same thing. Doctors don't think it's anything. Mine's about 1/4 inch round. Maybe a bit larger.

are you kidding, no you are not alone, and i have had mine since 2003 and like the others no it doesnt nurt but it is soo damn visible. i try to wear wigs to cover mines because it is at the top right side of my forehead and i woke up one morning and saw mines and even thou i have seen this maybeoneor twice in men it seems to me to be more in women, but i did have a doctor tell me that it comes from your scalp and not your brain so that was good news and i dont think its cancer either, its like a cyst or what older people would say a raising except that not it either, but i plan to go back to the doctor and i will gladly tell all of you whathe says so we can fix this once and for all, good luck to you all and God bless.

I had a large bump on my left side of my forehead that just showed up one day. It grew over the years and for 10 years I asked every doctor that I saw what is it, why is it there and what caused it.

My first doctor said it was a wen. Asked if it was hurting and I said no so he dismissed it as nothing. After he retired, the next doctor that I was seeing told me it was nothing and that it was probably just a bone. The next doctor I saw basically went off of what the previous doctor said to me that it was probably just a bone and it was nothing to worry about since it was not hurting me.

Every doctor I saw for the next 10 years told me the same thing. It is nothing to worry about and if it doesn't hurt then leave it alone. I went to get a check up in January and the doctor told me my checkup was fine and asked if I had any other concerns. I told him the only concern was this bump on my forehead that seems to be quite large (most people didn't notice as I kept it covered by my hair).

When I lifted my hair and he saw the bump he said he would send me to get an ultrasound just to see what it might be and how we could deal with it. When the results came back and he saw me, he said he was sending me to a specialist who would give me the options of what I could do and what the cost would be.

When the specialist saw me, he commented on the size of it and told me it was a fat tumour and that it needed to be removed as it will continue to grow and eventually cause a lot of problems for me. I saw this specialist on March 12 and was booked in for a simple surgical procedure (day surgery) on May 25, 2012.

I was given a local anaesthetic and prepped for the removal of this tumour. When the doctor went in, he realized that this "harmless" tumour had attached to some facial muscle and also had put a dent in my skull. I thought he was joking and he told me he was serious and that he had taken longer because he had to repair the damage that had been done to the muscle that this tumour had attached to.

Please, please, please..... if something doesn't feel right to you, keep being that squeaky wheel until someone listens to you. I'm very fortunate that a doctor finally did something about it and the damage that was done was repairable considering how long this tumour had been in my head (10 years). All any doctor had to do was send me for an ultrasound.

My boyfriend just had his removed. ENT said it was an abnormal growth most likely caused by a bump to the head. They cut open the forehead and removed a large cyst like object. After they studied it they found that there were some malignant cells growing along the outer edge of the structure. You should definitely have this looked at and potentially removed. The procedure wasn't overly traumatic and it was an in an out hour appointment. He had a great deal of bruising and swelling for about a week but it looks so much better now.

Hello, Good to hear you got that taken care of. I have a HARD bony bump just indide my hairline that has been there for about 10 years as well. I have been told after being directed to different doctors over the years and a xrays, CT scan and finally a neurologist said that he wouldnt remove it due to the fact it is "harmless" and that if they did they would have to chisel it off! fearing a potential brain bleed he said it is not worth it to remove. So I guess I am stuck with this thing for life. He said that at one time I had probably fractured my skull in a car accident years before I noticed it and no one knew about the skull fracture so the skull repaired itself creating a bony mass. I dont know what to do other than forget it I guess, but it bothers me for it to even be there.

I had the same thing on my upper left forehead and the doctors couldn't figure out what is was but assumed that is was a cyst. I had it removed about a year ago and nothing has grown back and there's no scar anymore. My surgeon informed me after the operation that he made a small incision over the bump and realized that it was bone and part of my skull. He grinded it down and gave me a few stiches. There was no pain medication prescribed to me but he recommended me to take Tylenol.
