Im overweight but not extremely fat, about a month and a half ago, one side of underbelly started to itch and turned into red, i started to scratch it and scratch it and scratch it, all the sudden it turned into small round spots which in darker color. I tried to ignor it, then i felt the same itching on the other side of underbelly! Then it became almost everywhere underbelly. It itches like crazy. Im frustrated and not sure what is this! Ive been to a doctor and he gave me a precription of 2 creams and told me to mix them togethr. One is called "mometasone furoate cream usp" and the other one is "econazole nitrate cream". Ive been using them for the 6 days now and will try to complete 3-4 weeks.
I hope it works.

buy yourself some tea tree oil. it can be found at walmart or wherever, in the vitamin isle. be warned it does smell like a cleaning product. I have also seen it used for dry scalp.

I get this as well, i found what works well after the rash occurs is to used A&D ointment. Only A&d has worked for me.. i know it smells a little weird but it solves fast. it solves mine over night. I found "butt paste" turned the rash worse. so try A&D

I have had the issue of a rash and very foul odor under my abdomen along my wasteline, and luckily I feel I have found a remedy. First clean and dry thoroughly, then apply diaper rash cream found at any local store. Repeat the process daily until it clears up then once or twice a week should be sufficient, I am morbidly obese, ( however as of today have lost 56lbs) and have not had any issues in over a year, hope it works for you as well.

My girlfriend and I both developed the yeast under the boobs when we were pregnant. While hydrocortisone and powder and witch hazel do make it feel better, they are only treating the symptoms. Applying an anti-fungal is the only thing that really works.
Don't freak out - my other girlfriend had a yeast infection on her FACE. She couldn't figure out how it got there, but there you have it. Good luck!

Your doctor can prescribe something called Nystatin cream or powder. It works well on yeast infections on the skin.

I go thru bouts of this time to time. I am considered obese. (Working on it though :-D )
Between what my dermatologist told me and the nurse that works at the university I work for; this is what I do during non-breakouts and breakouts. It is the yeast infection not simple heat rash.
Before breakouts and light flareups: keep the skin area from touching each other and dry. How? Use everyday cornstarch -- apply to area. Optional, get soft cloth like old white, not dyed tshirt cut into strips that will fit the area when folded. Coat cloth with cornstarch, place in area.
During a flareup... if light -- I no longer "optionalize" the cloth method. If that fails, or I remember I have the following sooner... I use what dermatologist suggested: Sarna lotion. Apply to area. It smells medicine-y and has a cooling effect. I like cooling effects. If I remember right, if part of the rash has been inadvertantly scratched and therefore open microscopically the Sarna may burn a little. Use your body's clues -- if it burns too much, carefully wash off and go back to cornstarch or a whole new method.
Sarna may be bought at Walmart, about $8 at our store - worth the price, lasts a long time.

HEY GUYS!!!!! DO NOT USE CORN STARCH OR ANY STARCH POWDERS ON YOUR YEAST RASHES!!!!! STARCH FEEDS YEAST!!! It may seem to work at first or may make u feel a bit more comfortable, but its only a quick fix!! It has the potential to make the smell worse or make the rash worse!!!!! The very Best thing to do is Keep them clean... wash ONLY your skin folds with Dial soap, dry them well and apply a thin but covering layer of AF ZEASORB powder!! You can find it at almost any drugstore or large retailer in the foot/anti fungal area. Once the redness, irritation, burning and itching is gone...to prevent it...continue to wash with the dial soap (only on skin fold cause dial dries you out!!!)and dry very well and apply a thin layer of stick deodorant directly on the fold...this will prevent those pesky rashes from coming back!!! If it does come back IM TELLING YOU AS A FAT GIRL OF 17 YEARS GET ZEASORB, ITS LIKE MAGIC DUST FOR FATTY FOLDS!!!! I LOOOOVE IT, it works under my boobs, under my belly and by my crotch area where my legs rub by my cooter! It is amazing and im sure you will agree!!!! Its important to stay fresh and beautiful no matter what size you are.. and im telling you this is the way to go!!! TRUST ME AND AT LEAST TRY IT!!! GOOD LUCK ALL!!!! :)

I have the same problem and have had it for years. The doctors have all said it is yeast and it grows in the dark moist areas. They have prescribed different creams some worked some did not. The best when the rash is bright red and really painful is Hydrocortisone cream 1% (not ointment) mixed half and half with the cream for athletes foot (yeast cream). But inbetween break outs use a good powder like Lotrimin which is also for yeast and athletes foot. Make sure you put a good thick layer and wash and reapply to very dry skin daily which should keep the rash at bay. If left untreated you can end up getting cellulitis which is a very dangerous skin infection that turns your whole abdomen red and it is very painful when pushed on. It can go into your blood stream and be septic and you can die. I did 5 days in the hospital and 4 weeks on IV antibiotics because I let mine go too long.

I have the same discomfort. After showering and drying off really good... Gold Bond Powder really helps to absorb the moisture. I also use hydrocortisone cream for the itching. I have also used neosporin if I scratch a little to hard. Cotton panties work best in th summer for me. Good luck!

do you use a cloth to apply the corn starch? Anyways, my rash has been so bad under my stomach and groin area. AT times i can't even walk. i use cut up flannel material that is usually used for baby diapers during the day just in case it gets moist until i get home. Just sitting in the bathtub with no bubbles and making sure it is clean. tried that cortisone cream (lamisil). and it extremely made it more painful. Always make sure to take a bath or shower every day. If you ignore it, it becomes worse.
