the most important thing for me when it gets so red and it is still sweaty under the stomach is to get it clean. either a bath or shower and then to get it dry. i put cloths under the stomach. and yes, that medicated gold bond powder definitely helps. i have also tried coconut oil and that also helps.

I had one doctor recommend baby powder that was pure cornstarch. I got ok results from that, but the rash would still come back. When it did, I'd use nystatin. But that also kept it too moist in the summer! Frustrating. Then a new dr. said to NOT use cornstarch for what is likely a yeast infection; I think it feeds the infection. So I switched to Gold Bond medicated powder. (I use generic/store brand.) I've had less trouble since using that after drying briefly with hairdryer. In the summer I used the absorbent pads I mentioned in an earlier post, although don't need them so much in the winter. Winter seems to bring more of a problem of too much dryness, not enough elasticity, because my rash accompanies an abdominal scar. But I figure one of the scar creams will make it too moist again and start up the rash....what a conundrum! Anyway, I highly recommend the Gold Bond medicated powder, with the hair dryer. A pain, but better than the misery of the rash! I would not use baby powder, unless it's purely temporary until you can get a medicated powder. Good luck! I know it's miserable.

If it is not responding to antibiotics it is most likely due to a yeast infection. Antibiotics kill good and bad bacteria which give the yeast the perfect environment to grow. Take some probiotics aswell if you are taking antibiotics to replace the good bacteria. And try just doing what other people have suggested and avoid the antibiotics, just see what happens. Keep it clean and dry, and it should clear up.

It can be hives that shows red rashes. It is very irritating to deal with hives. Cure hives as soon as possible but with natural method that do not leaves any side-effects.

Warning to people re using deodorant under the bust : make sure it does not have aluminium in it, as this has been implicated in breast cancer.
I don't have an answer to this problem, other than to keep areas as dry as possible - use a strip of old sheeting in summer - & when it dries out too much & becomes painful, wipe a little olive oil on. And watch your diet : for me, any yeast or sugar - including dried fruits & fruit juices - are instant triggers.

My doctor gave me a script for NYSTOP - it is a very fine powder and I guess it is medicated - you only need a little- that I apply after a shower and after patting dry the area. It has helped immensely because my area became raw and very painful. I do it religiously now and have next to no problems with it. Another thing to avoid is stretch pants - I had a pair of capri stretchy pants that I worked around the house with and that made it worse - the area definitely needs to air out and you should wear cotton - and don't wear underwear to be and wear a nightgown instead of pant pajamas - that is what is helping me..

The starch in corn starch powder feeds yeast. It is a sugar- and yeast eats sugar. That is why many diabetics get yeast infections so much- because they are more prevalent in those with high blood sugar. Check your sugar- dry it out- use anti-fungal creams or powders and make sure they do not contain any type of ingredient with "starch".

I have this same problem. Go to your PCP or your gynecologist. I also sweat under my breasts. It is not b ad under the breasts though. It is considered a fungal infection and I have a cream and a special powder. DO NOT USE BABY POWDER as there is an ingredient in there that makes things worse.

NO CORN STARCH, that is food for yeast. Wash with Dial soap, dry and blow dry. Swab with Peroxide, blow dry. Apply ZEASORB antifungal powder with a little goldbond added. Pack the fold of your tummy with a cotton absorbent packing, just a good wad of toilet tissue 4-6 sheets wadded up works too, but change it 4 times a day. The paper will absorb moisture, no moisture, dead yeast. This regimen will cure it in 10-14 days.

Janna, I have been having this problem for years...but as long as I follow this process, I NEVER get the redness and itching. Shower daily of course--and dry your underarms, under your breasts, and under your tummy thoroughly--sometimes I do use the hair dryer. Then spray LOTRIMIN POWDER SPRAY in all three places--lots of it. It also acts as a deoderant, so you don't have to use other deoderant under your arms. You will find this in the foot-care section of the pharmacy. I have tried EVERYTHING, and this works best...when it's hot weather, I do the Gold Bond powder on top of it, too. It is a little pricey--$7 or so for the can (in Walmart). But one can lasts me for two weeks...and it works perfectly, no more redness or fungus, forever!

I have the same problem in the mornings I wipe under the stomach area with vinegar this stops the sweating to a large degree plus it stops the smell that can happen. At night if I have a rash I will smooth vaseline on that area and in the morning the rash is gone
