I know this thread is a bit old, but I just thought I’d share my experience. I have been diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension aka Pseudotumor Cerebri. Basically, for some unknown reason my body is producing too much cerebrospinal fluid. I’m currently waiting to have a Ventriculoperitoneal Shunt placed in my brain to drain the excess fluid in my head. There’s no cure for IIH, just treatment. Other than horrible symptoms such as debilitating worse than a migraine headaches, dizziness, pulsatile Tinnitus, nausea, tingling, burning, numbness, etc, the biggest concern is the possibility of blindness. All the pressure in my head from the excess fluid is causing my optic nerves to swell. The condition is called papilledema. I failed all the meds that are used to attempt to reduce fluid so I absolutely have to have the shunt punt in or I will lose 100% of my eye sight. Please...if you feel like any of these symptoms relate to you, get yours eyes checked and ask to see a neurologist. Diagnosis is made by both eye exam and lumbar puncture. Lumbar punctures are scary, but worth it in order to save your eye sight. Please check to see if you have a CSF leak if your feeling this burning sensation in your head and back to your neck as you described. You can google ways to check at home or pleeeeease go to your doctor. I wish I would’ve discovered my condition sooner. I’m only 35. Originally they thought I just had bad migraines. I fought for years and still have to continue fighting. This is rare and barely any doctor knows what it is or how to treat it. Good luck!

Hello everyone - I've never had this problem (I'm 58yrs young) until 4 weeks ago when I came down with this flu/cold thing that's going around. Doctor put me on antibiotics broad based and then a type two antibiotic after that. I'm on the mend now but now I have this problem too. So I'm going back to my doctor to get my sinuses properly looked at by a nose ear throat specialist to to see if this "acid/burning" is still some sort of infection that refuses to go away. I am going to read that link and see if it explains anything.

I know it's been a long time since this post was made but look into trigeminal neuralgia. Some doctors may mistake it for sinusitis

Sorry, but if you wrote a comment just to judge someone's personal choices... you're a jackass

Noticed it as well which normally comes along after working on my laptop for prolonged period. read somewhere that EMFs can have an effect on sinuses. Another possibility could be airborne pathogens and molecular chlorine released by the nasal passages to fight potential infections...

I'm the original poster, and came back across this post while reading up again on these burning migraines. They begin at anytime. While sleeping, working, napping, stressed or not stressed, not getting enough sleep as well as getting too much sleep, wind/fan blowing, getting too hot, being dehydrated, the list goes on. I don't have to bend over, it just comes on and lasts for days. I'll get so nauseated that I take Phenergan suppositories and have found that once I take that and Sleep about 8 hours, wake up and it's completely gone. Without Phenergan,.it may last 4 or 5 days. My eye will feel watery, and I recently started realizing I drool a little as well. I hope someone somewhere can figure out what the deal is.

I hung upside down to stretch my back out and felt a fluid dripping through my nasal passage with a burning feeling. But then nothing else happened. I think I had a nasal drip and cold prior to that.

Thank you for sharing this link. This began yesterday for me. I thought I was losing my mind. I probably am, but this is good into.

In addition, I feel extra tired and not quite dizzy, but weird. Can’t describe it. Almost like a semi out of body experience. Told you I was loosing my mind lol.
