I have all of the exact same symptoms too. I was actually just trying to work out and I felt them starting to come on. It makes me really nervous to have something like this happen while working out. I get very nauseous and light headed. Have any of you taken any type of stimulant medication before? I was taking adderall for ADHD for years when it stared happening. It has been 2 years since I have taken any kind of stimulant and all of the same symptoms still occur.
So you're glad that people are having problem? you're a real sicko.
Finally someone who can explain this better than I . I have had this my whole life, just every so often until recently when it happens several times a day. My symptoms are exactly as you describe. I have also had an echo gram and my results were good and I was told I had a murmur, but I didnt have the symptoms that I was trying to explain to the doctor. I have read several posts and it seems there are many with this but no answers. Please let me know if you are able to get an answer.
Thank you!! For the first time I actually feel ok about this. Not that I will not keep monitoring it, but your post really helped! TY:)
This is comforting. I have had these "extra beats" every blue moon causing a fluttery feeling since I was a teenager. My mom had me checked out and they said I was fine. I was just in a car wreck yesterday morning and last night around 8:30 I sat down and started crocheting. Every 5 seconds or so I would have a flutter and it would make me cough. My husband asked why I kept doing that and I said this flutter was making me have the urge to cough. we listened to my heart and sure enough every 5 or so seconds it threw two quick extra beats in. It was crazy! Well needless to say I have been having them ever since. All day today. However when I went to bed it didn't affect me. I slept all night without the urge to cough. When I started moving around this morning it started up again. It is really annoying because now I sound like I have a cold as much as I am coughing-every 5 sec....hopefully it is from the stress of the accident and will go away.
It never occurred to me that stress, or post accident stress could be the problem. Immediately after breaking my hip I had a heart attack, and the next week I was closely monitored in hospital. The shock had also given me very high blood pressure, very high cholesterol, very high glucose count, very high platelet count, although I felt extremely calm, not having to care for others 24/7 as I did at home. So these accidents do affect the heart first and foremost. Please post on your progress, and take it easy.
My daughter has a similar thing, I would really like to find out about this.

Hello:
Really enlightening replies. Even I seemed to have it when I sit for a long time to work and I am generally worried sick about it, but I think I might ask for an event monitor if it does not stop just to be sure. Hope I am taking the right decision.
Regards,
Wow! I was wondering if it was normal that I keep coughing when I have a PVC or APC, which I have already been diagnosed with. I know there is an association, because I am a nurse, and I kept coughing and feeling these skipped beats. I hooked myself up to an EKG at work. Lo and behold, a PVC every 6 beats. A lot of times, it just doesn't happen when you are wearing a holter monitor. Maybe it should be worn when you are at work and stressed.
Nonstop heart palpitations with cough started two weeks ago (right before mentstruation). A week ago I quit drinking/eating anything with caffeine, and a few days ago I went to the doctor because the palpitations continued. After an EKG, my doctor told me I had PVC, and usually these are nothing to worry about. She ran blood tests anyway, and those came out normal. I am a healthy 39 y.o. female. I have not been under any more stress than I have for the last ten years, so the sudden onset of this is alarming. I feel like I broke something in my heart - not painful, but soooo sensitive with the palpitations and coughing. I'm really tired early in the evening, and I hope this adjusts when I get used to not having caffeine. I'm having a hard time running a household and teaching a class all day without caffeine, and the heart palpitations have not improved yet. I used to run a lot; for about ten years I ran every day, even during both of my pregnancies. Life got too busy and I have not made it a priority to run for a couple of years. I was going to start running again, but I walked up a hill yesterday and the palpitations were so strong it frightened me. I have an appointment tomorrow with the cardiologist to wear a holster for 24 hours. I will ask him/her lots of questions and let you know how it goes.
Okay - all went well with the heart monitor so I guess these palpitations are just hormonal fluctuations. I don't like it, but it has made me more conscious of my diet for the last week. Today I had some green tea with skim milk. After not having any caffeine for over a week, it was wonderful. I was a huge coffee and diet soda drinker, but I actually felt amazing all day after just a small cup of green tea at breakfast and lunch. Hopefully this will work itself out soon.
For the record... when veterinarians (hear me out!) ask about heart disease in dogs, they ask about coughing. Coughing is often a symptom of heart problems, it's not just weird coincidence!
I looked up this post because I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse last year during a particularly stressful time, of course the heart monitor that I wore for a week didn't catch it, but as soon as it was off, it would start again. I cut out coffee and tried to eliminate stress (and not stress about the heart issue since I knew what it was). I didn't experience them for a long time until recently. Many people don't think they are stressed, but they are internalizing issues that do stress them out. Your body won't lie to you, even if your brain will!
I'm still having them right now, and I know that I'm in for a stressful few months, I don't normally cough when I have them but I just did, completely involuntary, which is what led me to this post. I may see my cardiologist again, sooner than the regular 5 year monitoring visit (to make sure the MVP doesn't get worse), but for now, I'm going to try and work on the stress. Incidentally, I was having these right before I went on vacation, then of course, NONE on vacation, but as soon as I got to the airport to come home, they started again.
Stress is bad for you!
